Congratulations on choosing the most sorted car in the segment ZohiAres! Its a very rounded product that will last for a long time. Only other complete product in the segment is the Brezza but its a bit old in the engine department.
Can you please share steps to get google maps on instrument cluster, I’d like to try it out on our XUV700. Last I checked only mappls was allowed to be projected on the MID.

Thank you so much! Here’s how I did it, After pairing with AndroidAuto, open google maps and start directions for a desired location. When the directions starts to show on the infotainment screen. Now in the MID select Navigation menu. It will mirror the google maps this time. If we do the same without AndroidAuto it opens mapmyindia by default. Just as mapmyindia the mirrored google map will show in between speedometer and tachometer, with the option to expand it to full screen by pressing & holding Enter button on the steering wheel. Hope this helps.

Even I got surprised, when SA told me about this. Apparently only Automotive Manufacturers doses this as told by our SA.

This is ridiculous how they have been handling your booking. It is sheer incompetency. If you're still facing the issues, it might be beneficial to escalate the matter to Mahindra customer support.

I sent an email to the customer support and got a call from the Sales head of the dealership within 2 hours. He informed that my booking details would be corrected and I will get the vehicle as soon as its available. It’s all words and talks. The booking status is still showing the wrong vehicle.

He also indirectly confirmed that MX1, MX2, MX2 Pro along with the top AX7 variants are yet to be in production line. This proves again that Tata and Mahindra don’t have capabilities to launch a complete niggle free product like MS and Hyundai-Kia. I still have an XUV500 from early 2012 batch, an amazing mile munching machine but plagued with electrical and electronic failures.

I haven't been able to install ANY seat covers for the last 3 years purely because of airbag compatibility.
PFA the accessories list (pdf attached, pages 36-38). They say the seat covers are validated by their R&D.
I have given order for following accessories for my AX5L 1.2 TGDI AT (with rate list at Anant Cars, Bengaluru):
Fog lamps: Rs. 6,000
Seat Covers (as shown on p. 38 of attached pdf): Rs. 12,500
Screen protect for display: Rs. 500
Pedal Covers (page 58, pdf): Rs. 800
Body side molding (page 12, pdf): Rs. 2,300
3D floor mat set (page 41, pdf): Rs. 5,000 (isn't this costly?)
Magnetic sun shade (page 40, pdf): Rs. 1,500
Mud flops (page 51, pdf) Line design AT: Rs. 1,000.

Surprisingly all are round figures to the tune of 00!

Now the frenzy of getting loan passed and getting a choice number has taken over - will keep you guys updated about delivery. I was told mine is in the first batch so guess we'll be the Beta Testers for the AX5 MT for others, haha!

Took a bit of convincing and pushback to get the dealer to agree to a PDI but alls well that ends well. Have been told as soon as I get the loan approval letter, they'll arrange a PDI/PPI at the showroom itself.

Fingers crossed all goes smoothly, haven't taken a loan in 10 years so many things to learn again!
Sadly, due to some issues had to cancel the booking. Will write in detail about what they were in the near future. Now waiting for the refund for the last few weeks..

Even if these are airbag compatible seat covers, the material is 'vinyl' (I assume this is leatherette) as claimed in the Mahindra 3XO accessories brochure. They don't seem to be perforated either or it would have been clearly mentioned. So this will still be a major issue in summers considering no ventilated seats.

I have an AX5L variant booked and was initially considering to get these seat covers from dealer. However may now skip these and continue to use the stock fabric seats as is. I may get the seat covers (from dealer) sometime down the line for below reasons:
1. Will have better clarity on the Airbag compatibility of these covers as there is still some confusion around it
2. The foam in seats will settle after some time and would get a better fit with the seat covers. I am not sure if this really makes a significant difference or not.
3.A change of look for the interiors after having used stock for some time.

Any downsides to this or suggestions otherwise?

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

I just took delivery of my XUV3XO AX5 petrol manual model in Galaxy grey yesterday. Location: Guwahati. Had booked the same on launch day itself through the dealer. It is very smooth to drive within the city. I have not tried it on the highway yet. Gear shifts are sleek and the turning radius is good enough to make U-turns. Outside noise insulation is excellent. I bought insurance myself and saved quite a lot. The music quality is decent. Rear seat comfort is good for average-height people.

Ah curses. So these seat covers will be just as useless

Unfortunate.

I got the dealer quote down to 46K and went with it. I guess early 40s is about the lowest a dealer quote could go (but I may be wrong).

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

I did a test drive of AX5L with TGDI today, some points I noticed:

- The steering response of this variant was much better than the AX5 I tested. But still it wasn't consistent, I could feel the weight of the steering change drastically and this didn't feel natural. I did not feel in control and in confidence of the car.

- Ofcourse there is turbo lag. But it's not very noticeable. The high torque at low rpm kind of masks the lag by getting you to 2000 rpm quite quickly (~2s) and then the turbo spools up.

- I really miss the paddle shifters I tried on the Brezza

- Weirdly I could not get it to downshift on the manual mode. I was at 28kmph trying to go down to 1st gear. It worked when I was at 25kmph, but nothing above that. I am not sure if this is expected, or if it will behave differently on other gears. I would like to know from others if engine braking would work on higher gears (I don't think it rev-matches when down shifting, and I am not sure how to do that in an AT)

- AC was okayish, erring on the side of weakish! 30 minutes of test drive with dual control AC maxed out on FAN and on the lowest temperate settings and yet this could not cool the cabin to my liking (Mumbai 11:30am). The sunroof cover was open for half the ride. I can't imagine how hot it will get in the AX7 with pano sunroof + leatherette seats.

- There was a rattling sound coming somewhere from the back seat, I tried to enquire and the person said it's because someone crashed the car from behind, but I didn't find any dents and the explanation didn't make sense. So loud rattling sound inside could be an issue.

.
Man this is my major concern with getting the AX7. The pano sunroof is something I really wanted, and the 360 camera and ADAS are things I would rarely use (so AX5L is not a worthwhile upgrade).

But the thought of sweat dripping down the white leathertte seats in the summer WITH a pano sunroof WITH the okayish AC of 3XO is already making me burn!

Arghhh, I'm so confused!
1. AX5 for VFM + Fabric seats, lose on engine and pano sunroof
2. AX7 for Pano sunroof + engine, lose on leatherette seats/sweat
3. AX5L for fabric seats + engine, lose on VFM
4. Look for something else! This is a wide car and a bit hard to park in my garage, maybe it's worthwhile to consider Brezza or Elevate or Kushaq or the Slavia facelift.

Forget about rev-matching. It's a very niche sporting thing, not very useful in real life. And you cannot do it in any auto box since the actual shift timing is not in your control.

About the downshift, maybe there is some protection built-in where it doesn't let certain shifts happen at certain speed thresholds? I mean might make sense. Dunno. Not sure.

Curious. I have been finding the AC on my 300 sufficient. I recently got a chance to test it in 43 degree Nagpur heat too!

P.S. - on dual mode you will not get the max amount of cooling anyway.

I mean, leatherette seats were not enough to deter me from the package that you get. You can get layers to put on top of the seats.

Something like this maybe: https://www.amazon.in/Protector-Wate...dp/B0D47HKSXN/

And that will manage the seat back problem.

But in my books at least, it is not enough to walk away from an otherwise great car. I myself tend to run on the hotter side, i.e. I feel warm more easily than the other guy. But I've been happy with my 300 for the past 3 years. So I understand your apprehension, but go for the variant you want in terms of features, and don't be deterred by these seat covers IMO.

I also test drive same car I think from kandivali showroom. Rattling sound they said car just received today we are not sure, we will check it out. there is something in trunk but was not able to find. I am sure it was car specific. other I tried dont have it.

AC I found sufficient.

And yes seat covers I think is something you should not take decision on because it can be easily managed by covers or other accessories.
