I don't think any vehicle in this category will give more than 10-11 Kmpl in Bengaluru traffic.

For the mileage part, I tried out Maruti Suzuki Fronx but the headroom at the back isn't sufficient for a 6 feet rider so I didn't go for it.

I'm now wondering whether to cancel or downgrade my booking to AX5 and drop ADAS
I chose the AX5L AT over the AX5 AT for multiple reasons & ADAS in one of them.
- I plan to keep the car for long, my earlier cars were for 7 to 10 years
- ADAS is helpful on highways, especially the lane keep assist & adaptive cruise control which needs AEBS (cannot be fitted later)
- The powerful TGDi engine
- 360 camera is a boon in many places, especially within the city, in stop & go traffic, while parking (cannot be fitted later)
- Auto hold & electric parking in my opinion are under rated features, I just love it, auto hold is boon in traffic (cannot be fitted later)
- Auto dimming IRVM (can get it fixed outside)

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

I heard the waiting period has come down for AX5 and above models. The dealer said it is around 30 days in Chennai. Is it true ?

Yes, apart from the base variant, the waiting period has totally come down. Dealers in Coimbatore are ready to deliver within 45 days.

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

After months of frustration and nearly canceling the booking, I finally took delivery of my XUV 3XO AX5L AT last week. Initially, I had booked at AMPL, Chennai, opting for the Deep Forest color (my wife's preference, though I wanted Nebula Blue). Last month I decided to cancel the booking. However, as a last try, I made bookings with two other dealers. Surprisingly, I got a unit from free stock (possibly a cancellation), though it was a Tango Red instead of Deep Forest.

I've driven about 300 km so far, mostly in city traffic, and here are my observations:

1. Infotainment – No lag or issues so far. Everything runs smoothly.

2. Audio Quality – Not the best, not the worst. Works fine, especially if you're the one driving.

3. AC Performance – Inconsistent. Sometimes it's an absolute chiller, sometimes it feels warm under similar conditions. Anyone else facing this?

4. Steering Feedback – I didn't notice any issues during the test drive, but now I understand the feedback concerns others were raising. Could use more feel, especially around corners.

5. Mileage – Initially stuck at 8 kmpl, despite my efforts in smooth driving. I thought it could be a sensor malfunction Took the car for a short highway run and that improved the mileage a bit, but still city mileage seems disappointing. Hopefully it improves.

6. Ride & Performance – Mostly driving in ZIP mode. It still feels a bit too peppy for my liking for stop-and-go traffic. Would love to have a ZIP Lite mode. Otherwise, the drive is buttery smooth, with minimal NVH and an excellent suspension setup.

7. Blind Spots – Still struggling to find the perfect seating position I guess. The A-pillar blind spot is quite noticeable. I added a rain visor and it has only made things worse. Thinking of removing it, but worried if it could cause any paint damage. Any suggestions?

Questions:

1. I can’t see the gear position on the MID. Is there a setting to enable it?

2. How do I check the fuel economy for a specific trip?

The way the vehicle was allotted (may be cancelled vehicle), are you sure you found nothing odd about the steering or AC functions during your PDI ?

"Initially it may be low around 10kmpl but it will improve later to 16-17 kmpl once the engine is set as per your driving style". This is what the sale guys said to me when I enquired about the mileage of the vehicle.

It depends on the kind of glue used. Check with the dealer / shop where you installed it.
I too noticed the A-pillar blind spot. The sales guy said, since it is the first time in a new car, we will notice it. Once used to the driving position. it will become normal. The mirrors are wider, for taller drivers (6 foot), it will not be an issue, shorter (less than 6 foot) drivers need some time to get used it. Not sure how much to trust this.

I didn't take the car for a drive during my PDI. So can't find out about the steering. But I think this is the character of the steering. It's not bad as such. Just that during my test drive I didn't notice anything odd.

I really doubt. It won't improve that much from 10 to 16 kmpl. Maybe from 10 to 11 or 12 max.

Ya going to check about the glue/tape used. They must have used some 3M or similar tapes. And, regarding visibility, yes we will get used to after sometime.

In extreme heavy to very heavy traffic through extreme congested areas and roads of Bengaluru, it has settled down to a decent 12-13 range on display.

The gap between system and tank to tank is more if you reset it again and again. otherwise its fairly accurate. It varied by .7 in my last tank to tank measurement.

Congratulations on the car though.

This is a small post on my observations with respect to mileage on my 3XO Ax5 Petrol. I have tried different vendors and pumps in and around Whitefield, Bengaluru and here are my observations regarding mileage.

1. Indian Oil : ranges between 10-12. Have not tried XP95 yet, but my first 3-4 tanks were exclusively Indian Oil. Have not tried it after seeing a 20-30% mileage bump when I moved to HP.
Pumps used : Varthur Road Pump opposite to GIS, NeoTown - Electronic city opposite to Ecity Town.
2. Shell : marginally better. Engine noise reduces considerably, but mileage hovers around 12.
Pumps used : Varthur Gunjur Road, Whitefield and Kadubeesanahalli(Opposite Prestige tech park)
3. JIO BP : Engine noise and vibrations are low, but struggled to get decent mileage even on low traffic routes.
Pump used : Budigere Cross to Airport Road has a functional pump.
4. HP : Best mileage. easily got 12-18 depending upon highway or city. Tried their premium petrol too but could not see much improvement in the mileage.
Pump used : Nallurhalli HP petrol pump.

I usually refill when I have a range of 100 kms visible on my console.
**All the mileage figures are personal observations.

I also fill up Nallurhalli HP petrol pump, Power 95. Nice outlet, good staff. But mileage doesn't go up more than 8 to 9 in bumper to bumper traffic , never used 91 octane but will do it in future once in a while.

I use the IDFC First Power Plus card to get 5% cashback as points and use the HP pay app to get another 1.5% as cash back points (compensates the no surcharge waiver on the card)

The driving dynamics is good and I am buying AX5L AT. I would give 95/100 marks for this car.
Can you please tell whether the petrol version of 3XO can be stage-2 tuned or not ? I am new to this platform hence don't know exactly where to frame this query. Really appreciate any helpful advice I can receive.

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

Hello everyone,

I am about to take the XUV 3XO (AX5L Petrol MT) home this week.
Bought it in Pune from Sahyadri Motors, Baner.
For the members in this community who are from Pune, can you please suggest a good place for aftermarket accessories in Baner- Hinjawadi-Wakad area?
Thank you!!

I play around with the timings a bit to achieve this.

Start 20 mins earlier for office with car compared to Scooty. 7:20 AM in car instead of 7:45.

Take a longer route with lesser traffic compared to a bit shorter route with heavy traffic.

And I am a very light footed driver.

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

The facelift 3XO has contributed to Mahindra's rise to No2 in India. Average monthly sales is 8K.

Variant to variant how does 3XO measure upto segment leaders Brezza & Nexon- from price & feature comparision?

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

Hi
Did any one get the rat mesh installed for your 3xo in Bangalore. If yes, is it worth and can you pls share me the contact details as I am thinking of getting it done for my vehicle.

Also, is there any software update that we need to get done for the infotainment. I am not happy with the features it provides.Cant play the music when the navigation is used. Also, only one speaker plays the music. I believe MX2 Pro version comes with 4 speakers.

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

Hello fellow 3XO owners

My friend has taken delivery of his 3XO Petrol AX5 AT two weeks back.

Today when we went on long drive, we noticed that when brake is applied more than half way and kept pressed a noise like "phat phat phat" is coming.

I don't think it's ABS in action as speed is moderate at 60-70 kmph and it's not sudden braking to lock the wheels.

He is going to take it to service center and get it checked but has anyone noticed similar issue?
