But I got a call yesterday from the dealer saying the car has been allotted to me and is in transit. I am happy as well as a bit suspicious as in how come I can get the vehicle allotted so early? The dealer said there was a cancellation by a customer and hence the early allotment. Is there anything to worry ?
I am wondering if manufacturer allows the vehicle to customer's name or to dealer and then dealer decides whom to allot?
Moreover, the dealer is not allowing any third party PDI on the car, has any dealer allowed this? I asked Mahindra customer care, they also confirmed it is not allowed.
Need insights from the experienced folks here.
I had done 3rd party PDI through Zekardo in Pune. The PDI person told me he has 3 appointments in a day. It’s better to book the slot 2-3 days in advance. Dealer brought the car from stockyard to showroom for PDI.

I bought 32 GB SanDisk memory card from Amazon for Dashcam. Accessories person told me they do not allow memory card bought from Amazon to be installed. They will only install company genuine accessory memory card which is not yet available for 3XO. Can anyone please confirm if this is true?

The delivery experience at the showroom was excellent, and I was pleasantly surprised to receive a small goodies box along with my new car. After completing the formalities, I decided to take my gleaming new vehicle to the Dagaru Seth Ganapati temple for a traditional blessing.

Upon arriving at the temple, my joy was amplified when I noticed that there were another XUV 3XO car already present for the Pooja ceremony.
Please find attached images of the car.
Congratulations on the purchase! I've booked an AX5L AT (White) from the same dealer. How did your insurance discussion with them go? Please share details on the same as I'm planning to get insurance independently as well.

I couldn't find any such detail anywhere. Thanks in advance!
Hello Pjango,

Where you able to get this question answered? I am also looking to find the load carrying capacity if I install a roof box. User's Manual was not helpful and I gave up after 30 mins of trying.

I had considered this (around the time of booking and while awaiting delivery) at least for the sake of my own curiosity. In my understanding, I don't believe the roof rails on the 3xo support this. They are at best for aerodynamics or perhaps more likely for aesthetics. Moreover, the Thule box is not meant for large loads, more like 8-10 kg accessories for a snow board or snow skis. The snow board itself is supposed to be mounted atop the Thule box as far as I can remember. Of course, this is all from my memory, and my conclusion was that if one needs to equip their 3xo (or more generally any sub 4 meter car) with an additional baggage capacity like such, perhaps then this segment is not ideally suited for such needs.

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

I saw some articles today where the waiting period for some 3XO variants has been increased:

1. https://www.autocarindia.com/car-new...-a-year-433308
2. https://www.drivespark.com/four-whee...11-060067.html

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

The two months waiting period for AX7L is incorrect. I had booked in the beginning of September, AX7L Tango Red Petrol, and the expected delivery date is in Jan end 2025 (20 weeks instead of 8-10 weeks which was communicated before booking).

They have also started selling the car in South Africa, which I cannot understand, as many customers are waiting for their car in India from many months. The waiting period will only increase.

For AX5L it's mentioned 2-3 months, I've been waiting 4 months+ and no one has any idea on the allotment, this is Whitefield, Bengaluru.

Unfortunately I'm not finding any other as good a car at this price, even the Brezza ZXi is more expensive than the already increased price for 3xo.

I checked with Bimal Maruti Whitefield if they could convince me by explaining how the Brezza is more VFM then the 3XO and they just stopped responding.

This is after taking a test drive, it's smooth with the 4 cylinders and 1.5L engine but they just don't care as it's anyways selling like hot cakes, especially the lower manual and CNG variants.

11. Parcel tray (GFX), even AX7L doesn't come with it = 1800/-
12. Mahindra Genuine accessories @dealership Door visor(chrome) + Pedal Chrome + Door sill (black)= 4000/-
....

..
How is the quality of the GFX parcel tray? I do see one GFX Parcel tray online but without reviews can't really tell if it's decent. Mahindra service center quotes Rs. 2,500 for the parcel tray against Rs. 1,889 for the GFX one.

Also, I think I have the same door sill guards in black. Are they present only for the front doors? For some reason, mine are not there on the back doors. Not sure if the dealership made a mistake during installation.

1. GFX parcel tray is just okay'ish. I think it can't hold too much of weight and Mahindra genuine also I saw, found both to be similar only.

2. Door Sill black with "XUV 3XO" written in Chrome letters. Yes, it's on all 4 doors

Thanks for the quick response.

Didn't realize the Mahindra one was bad too. One more query if you don't mind. Does the GFX one have those two strands that are meant to lift up the parcel tray when the tailgate is opened? I don't see that on video/images of the product.

I haven't seen the Mahindra parcel tray either so I am not sure if the provision for this is not there in the car.

Also, noticed today that AX5 doesn't even have the provision for a boot light. Not sure why Mahindra would want two different sets of panels for the boot.

Don't remember of hand, booking was done on 16th June, was committed 2 months max, WhatsApp group message mentions 10 weeks, the official booking with a standard date of I remember was 11th October which the dealer said that it is a system date, just ignore.

Since then I've been only told, Mahindra has not yet allotted and they are giving 1 out of every 5 cars being requested for by the dealer. This is India Garage Whitefield.

They have cleverly added one clause in the booking confirmation, "This contract supersedes all discussions and negotiation and no verbal commitement will be honored."

Ohh. For me the system generated date is 25th Jan (booked on 7th September AX7L Tango Red Petrol). The dealer told max mid November. Now I am wondering if the Jan date will be adhered to or not.

Mahindra should do something about the delivery timeline communication and adherence. Just having excellence in the product development isn't enough. The booking and delivery experience should also be good.

Even Mahindra's parcel tray doesn't have the functionality of pulling up when the boot is opened and also the GFX one doesn't have this functionality, it's just fixed.

One difference I found between Mahindra's and GFX is that there are 2 partitions in parcel tray of Mahindra and GFX is 1 complete section without any partitions.

This is what original parcel tray looks like:-

and this is the GFX one:-

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

Soo,

I booked a 3x0 , AX5L AT in nebula blue today.
Expecting delivery in 1 st week of Nov. The car is in transit. I have received the VIN and engine number. I was talking to two dealers. The car was a part of Free stock, and they had the variant and second preffered color in stock, so, I grabbed it. I was dilly dallying around since I only wanted the AX5L variant. They did have AX7L in my primary color of choice, but I was not willing to spend another 2.5L for that.

The only negative I have is, the lack of the boot space and the lack of option to use a roof rack. As a family, we would need to pack light going forward. The 60:40 split seats would be put to good use going forward, I guess.
