Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

I was exploring Spinny used cars and almost all of them mentioned "non-tampered odometer" as a feature.

By getting the odo reset, are we not tampering with it. Apologies if the question sounds stupid.

The delivery was delayed and it was only us, couple of sales personnel and a lonely watchman by the time the process was through.

No time for a demo even, not even to collect the vehicle related paperwork line manual etc. I literally stopped on the road and asked them where is fuel opener and that was about it.

Ever since I've been asking the dealership for a demo and the manual book. Totally being ignored by them. Oh the dread of post delivery experience has already started

Did reset the time a couple of days later by playing around and figuring it by myself.

Finally, the much-awaited, APPLE CAR PLAY is out for AX5 Variant, confirmed by India Garage Mahindra, and I booked an appointment for an update tomorrow at 930 AM. I will post once the update is done! Hopefully, the other variants will get it soon!

This is done at the dealership by the mahindra personal. They informed me that before the odo crosses 150km, this facility of resetting the odometer can be done.

I believe it is not tampering per se but a provision made available for logistical ease and to deal with cases like mine, where from the point of unloading they need to bring the car to showrooms by driving over considerable distances and we question them on these numbers at the time of delivery. This must be a generic problem persistent across geographies and dealerships.

The condition that the odo shouldn't cross 150km is the caveat here.

At least, this has been my rationalisation. Veterans please weigh in. Thanks.

2. How is the fixed seat height? This one depends on a person's height i guess. But in Bengaluru I liked being able to see the top left of the bonnet during the test drive through narrow streets(obviously that was the top variant).
Thank you. I checked the VIN and deciphered that my vehicle is manufactured in Aug'24. Given how sparse the availability of reviews on this particular variant is, I do think that my dealer actually managed to get allotment in one of the early dispatches.

1. I don't think the screen is Android enabled in the sense that we will be able to connect Android auto and use it as an infotainment system. I feel it is provided as a decorative piece judging by today's usage expectations and standards. I did see a video on YT where they connected it to a phone and accessed maps. I personally need to check this.

2. I am 5'10. I can see the contours of the bonnet clearly.

Hope this helps.Thanks!

Thanks for this, I messaged the Mahindra contact through the WhatsApp group and he confirmed the availability of CarPlay upgrade. I got it done today and it works.

On WhatsApp, I am not sure if I understood your statement correctly but WhatsApp messages cannot be displayed by design. CarPlay will use Siri to read it out to you (audio only).

This is wonderful news! My car is due for the software update at the service center. I believe it is only available for AX5 variant as of now.

Anybody who has already got this update installed in their AX5 variant, please let me know how is the touch response and experience. Also, in the digital instrument cluster, are you able to mirror Google Maps as well as Apple Maps? Is it working seamlessly in both wireless and wired mode?

Quick question, why only MX5 got the upgrade and not the AX7 series (by the way I have just booked my MX5L TGDI Automatic, i need gray cloth seats) the infotainment system (background software building blocks) is all the same.

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

Has anybody got PPF or ceramic coating done for their 3XO? What did it cost you, and which one do you recommend?

PPS Mahindra, Kanakarapura Road, Bangalore, informed me that my AX7L has finally been allotted. I am going to the showroom to discuss the pricing and accessories. Kindly help me with information on the PPF/Ceramic Coating. Someone in the forum got a Graphene coating done for 25k.

The touch response is awesome; I have yet to try Gmap cluster on the instrument. Works wirelessly neatly

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

Hi Guys, Booked a AX7 Petrol Manual on 17th July @ NBS Mumbai, was promised Delivery 25th September. Unfortunately my SA has now informed me that it may take another 30 days before I can get my car. According to Him, Mahindra has been releasing 3 to 4 Cars in AX7 Petrol every month to NBS, which is really strange. He also told me that cars booked in May are yet to get delivered. Bad planning on Mahindra's part. It's sad that Mahindra is testing it's customers patience. I may be compeled to look at another Brand / Model if I don't get the car next month. Sad.

I believe you mean AX5 and AX5L as MX5 is not available in 3XO lineup. Only Mahindra can answer this as they certainly have a unique way of obtaining license of Android Auto and Apple Carplay variant wise unlike other car brands who obtain it for all applicable variants at once well in advance of launching it to the public!

That would be me. It’s Proshine Autodetailing in Kumaraswamy Layout.

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

Got my 3XO's first 2000km service.
I own a AX5 AT. Delivered in June 3rd Week. clocked in around 1800kms.

Overall quite Happy with the Service.
Got Apple CarPlay as well.
Minor issues were fixed.
The booklet was not stamped they said it is all online now and also did not receive any invoice, just called him today as a reminder to send the details of what was done on the car.

Detailed Post:

Problems mentioned:
1.Apple CarPlay.
2.Cluterring sound from windows when moved over rumble strips.
3.Boot does not close with normal force.
4.Indicator sound and welcome message doesnot play sometimes.
5.Fuel Efficiency - Just 8kmpl in city and 11kmpl on highways.

I was not in the service centre during the process but was told that they have done engine oil checks and all electronic components checks etc.
Also Software Flashing was done.

1. Apple Car Play - During Job Card the team there told me that there is no apple car play untill a few more software updates in the coming weeks.
But checked at the eod that I had got ACP and it worked perfectly.
Checked Google Maps and Calls it worked.
(I remember seeing whatsapp messages in AA not sure if ACP should be doing that).
Posted the same in the forum last saturday.

2.Cluttering sound from windows - Could not test this much as did not drive again after the service, but I feel its fixed to some extent.

3.Boot closing - I saw grease applied on the lock of the boot but yeah could not test the closing ease yet.

4.Indicator sound and Welcome Message - Indicator sound issue was anyways sporadic need time to test and welcome message again didnot play twice.

5. Fuel Efficiency - I was told that after 10k kms when the oil is changed the mileage would improve. 8kmpl is very low.
I drive mostly in Pune(PCMC) traffic (Pimple saudagar to Chakan etc, average speed of 22km/hr)

Service Experience :

Had booked a 11AM appointment and was there on scheduled time, but was told that as it a weekend slot times are not that well followed and work on my car would start at 2PM, but then it was started around 4PM and finally received it at 7:30PM.

The staff there was really friendly but yes they had very limited knowledge regarding the car or infact even what the new software update had or any such queries they were blank.

During software update the way the guy reclined the seat and was playing with my dashcam camera cable it hurt me.
Also the AC was on for around 2 hours when during the update, he says its necessary to have the AC on during updates.

Wanted to get my dashcam cable routed but they denied stating it would hamper the warranty. So I got it done outside.

The cleaning washing and polishing were excellent. I do not feel like taking my car out in the rains now, just want it to shine the same.

Overall satisfied.

My dealership mentioned that the first service is either 2k km or 1 month from date of delivery, whichever is earlier. Also suggested that I stick to it so that there won't be any issues while claiming any warranty in the future, if such a need were to arise.

Just curoius to know if there is any truth to it? I understand that you took yours in, much later than 1 month. Based on your input I'm supposing that time is not a strict criteria that we need to adhere to here.

I was informed that 1st service is just general inspection. Thanks.
