Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

Test drove the 3XO today and the car seems fantastic as a single use car, though I would call this more of a highway car rather than for city use. This car had really piqued my interest (people who know me will say I care nothing about cars ever since I got into motorcycling and will need to be really special to get my attention. Only the XUV700 did before this.)

I drove the AX5 TGDi petrol automatic as the manual wasnt available at the moment and the difference really shows in how automatic transmissions and engines have evolved. The front looks weird yes, but not as much as the Verna when it was first seen. Rear is like the Kiger, looks neutral. The engine though 3 cylinder was extremely smooth and silent, unlike the Rapid/Polo where you could feel the NVH. The SecuraDrive 205/60/R16 tyres was grippy, but very noisy and heard clearly in the cabin, like wind noise inside a helmet post 40 kmph. Gearbox was really smooth on low throttle inputs, and the TC on kickback has a slight lag but pushes you into the seat once it downshifts post 2000 rpm. This makes for a fantastic combo with the diesel (and must be introduced it being a premium crossover. AMTs are stupid! Drove the SPresso AMT during its launch in 2019 and never wanted to see it again). Those who like linear power delivery may not appreciate this much.

Suspension was good and felt like the XUV700s FSD system, though it doesnt have that tech. The automatic start stop system did not feel intrusive and worked smoothly without me realizing it. Brakes were strong and have bite to the point of being really grabby, really appreciate the rear discs. Seat and ergos were spot on and hug you well, the lack of ventilated seats being a big miss for chronic sweaters like me. The rear seats I felt were very soft (anyone, please confirm this) and not as firm as the front seats. Boot was small, and will need to pack small bags. Thanks to no ADAS! Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, TPMS with readings is a boon.

The only notable emissions were ventilated seats and a cooled glovebox if anything. At 17.6L on road the AX5 variant seems a little overpriced, but the cabin feels very premium. I wouldnt be driving a NA petrol again after experiencing this sort of diesel torque rush, though the mileage numbers may drop significantly. I was seeing 9 kmpl with smooth driving and 8 kmpl after pushing it hard for a kilometer. The car looks really good in the Red and Yellow colors and would be the one to go for. The petrol manual with its light clutch and short gear throws really felt like a weekend car I would own, after the aspirational G30 530d.

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

Can we get the front sensors installed in AX5L variant? Also can we get the lamp installed in glovebox like AX7L?

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

I booked a 3XO AX5 Petrol AT in June.

On the Mahindra website, the vehicle details (variant, color, etc.) show up correctly under booked vehicles, but the date of booking shows up as a date in May.
Also, I am not able to relate the booking id and transaction id with any id's on the booking form or my payment receipt.

The showroom guys are playing it down saying it's a manual error, but I am not so sure.
They said they would check and get back to me, but so far they have not provided any clarification.

Are these types of errors (or, shall I say, manual adjustments) common?
Also, have any of you faced such an issue during your booking process?

Thank you.

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

Any update on delivery of MX1 variant anyone? I booked on May 15 and there’s no info anywhere about it. Since I booked online, our SA told I will be looped in all updates from the company but I didn’t get any till date, apart from the booking confirmation email and docket. Called Mahindra customer care and they are redirecting my query to dealer. Hyundai is much better in this regard, I got a very good support from them.

Ahhh. Facing similar problem. I pre booked with dealer on 9th may. Dealer booked it on 15th may. I didn't get any message or email for booking confirmation. Talked to the sales person about it and he told me to not worry about it. 2 days later i signed up on mahindra website and app. Booking was there on my name but the variant was mx2 instead of mx2 pro. Booking date on website was 15th may and in app was 17th may. On 30th may i talked to the sales guy and upgraded my model to mx3 PM black as there was news about mx2 pro not being in production yet. Few days later i checked my booking and it was showing mx3 now but in everest white color. And around 15th june the booking stopped showing in my account on website or app. From 20th june i started calling the customer care and everytime they tell me that I'll get a callback from my dealers senior management. But i never got any callback. They gave me the GM's number which was always switched off. Then on 28th june I wrote 4-5 tweets about the mismanagement and then the senior management team contacted me and told me that my booking will start showing up by today evening. But alas i still can't see any booking in my profile on mahindra website or app. Its really pathetic. Onee side I really like the car and on other side I'm a bit worried about after sale support of mahindra.

Great review! BTW, did you drive AX5 L as the L variant has a TGDi engine and the AX5 has TCMPFi and no ADAS. At the same time, AX5L comes with TGDi and L2 ADAS, among others. The AX5L variant closes at 16.5L for most users with insurance negotiation.

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

I recently logged in onto the Mahindra Portal and checked booking. The portal is updated with User interface.

I have booked 3XO online as well as Offline. Online was booked on First 10:00 AM tick on 15 May 2024 and Booking amount for offline was given to dealer on 14 May 2024.

Now both booking show date as 17 May 2024. Does anyone seeing same? how come dates are changed? usual Mahindra goof up?

Also in updated portal you can track the vehicle. So just tracked my both bookings and to my surprise online booking done by myself does not show any delivery date as well as it is yet to go in production. However booking done at dealer end showing it waiting for production and delivery date for MX2 Pro AT is shown as 13 November 2024. Whoaa!!! this much waiting? also dealer is saying waiting time for MX2 Pro is 10 weeks. So basically if we consider from booking date its much beyond that.

I asked dealer from where exactly this 10 weeks needs to be calculated? from booking date? or from June onwards? they also did not have any clarity.

Request fellow BHPian to post the screenshots of tracking so that we can have better idea of deliveries.

Thanks.

I just checked and a very similar thing has happened to me. I had booked online within the first 2 mins on 15th May and now it is showing booking made on 17th May.
The tracking shows only 'Booking complete', not even 'Order Processed'.

I see the portal interface has been updated. Is this for everyone?

Updated interface is for everyone. are you able to see the delivery date?

this is usual mahindra goof up. I am particularly looking for other variants since we got delivery timelines info on MX2 Pro variant.

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

Got the software updated today. Alexa has been integrated. Now waiting for the Apple Car Play update. Hopefully the screen niggles are sorted out. Will keep posting regarding the same. Mahindra absolutely needs better Quality control in their Tech Department. Not everyone has time to visit the service centre again and again for updates.

Thanks.[/QUOTE]

The status has changed many a times for my MX2 pro AT booking. It was showing tentative delivery date as 19th September till yesterday and now when checked today, the delivery section is gone. The tracking shows nothing. Moreover, the booking date is mentioned 17th May though it was done on 15th May.
My same booking was displayed as AX5 Diesel MT about 15 days ago. It seems team Mahindra is putting more effort in updating the online status than producing the vehicle.

I am not seeing any delivery date. My variant is AX5L AT. I contacted the dealer and got the standard response "Don't worry about the dates on website, you will get your vehicle soon"

You can log-in and check the booking details by clicking on your 'profile' icon on the top right. Then you can go in menu (3 dots) and click on 'Track your vehicle'.

Nothing specific about your post as such, I'm just using it to piggyback and pick a point to ponder on the forum - in general everywhere since the 3XO arrived - everyone seems to test with "vertically placed" bags and of course its evident that they fit. No questioning that.

But is this enough to convince the people that this boot is now as "big" as the other ones on offer? I'm not convinced at all. Do we use the boot only to carry bags around? The shape in my opinion is still very cramped and still be quite restrictive when it comes to a more "general purpose" use of the boot rather than just travel bags. All the competition in the segment still offers far better packaging of the boot, heck even the supermini hatchbacks on sale do.
(Apologies in case this point of view has already been discussed.)

I was able to see the tracking option yesterday but the page did not load. Now I can't see the "track your vehicle" option at all. Not sure if it's only for me. Seems like the whole tracking system was off and they will probably be updating it soon. Atleast that's what I hope.
