Thinking to book another one at M&M Motors (Selaiyur, Chennai) showroom.

Just curious to know, did anyone get delivery of Diesel MT in Chennai ?
If you want it on priority my humble suggestion is to book in multiple places, I did it in 4 different places and got 1 within 5 days. Automotive I never had any quick response other than the AGM, who gave quick data. India Garage is doing very well in terms of arranging quickly.

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

I wanted to share a weird experience last night. This is the first time I filled XP95 full tank the day before. When I started the car, it was close to the wall in the basement, and I was about to hit the wall, but luckily, I managed to break it. I am not sure if the RPM/thrust, whatever it was high on steroids like, back in years, I remember people referring to that as "Idling speed." It was like that until I got out of my basement; I even checked if something was pressing the accelerator pedal by mistake, the mat, but nothing I found abnormal. I'm not sure why that RPM high happened, and it is a bit scary that things are out of control, and I have to control with brakes until the system calms down. Anyone who experienced this in any other vehicles in your experience, please share! Many thanks!

Not sure if this was a proper cold start, but the engine typically runs slightly higher RPM when starting from the cold. That idle RPM is higher than the usual idle.

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

In addition, I have speaker phone issues; it happened on day 1 when I took the delivery, and now it's the second time today. When I make a phone call, it just goes like radio noise (a lot of static). Other than mechanical parts, there are a lot of issues with software/electronics that need to be fixed on the HIGHEST priority.

I'll make it simpler to understand. In the variants that have drive modes (mostly automatics) i.e. Zip, Zap, Zoom, you will not see a separate steering mode button or setting because that is integrated with the drive modes itself. Each of the drive mode has its corresponding steering mode which can't be changed separately.

In the variants that do not have drive modes (mostly manuals), you get a dedicated button to change the steering modes. So even if you can't change the driving behaviour of the car you can at least tweak the steering feel.

The slot for SD card in 700 is in the front passenger footwell. And it requires a special tool to access it so I would guess it to be same for 3XO as well. But only a service technician trained for the 3XO would be able to know for sure.

The dealership was also provided with a special tiny machine to push the MicroSD card in its slot, but the person who installed it told me that he could easily do it directly without the tool.

Also, the dealer was only supplied with 32GB MicroSD cards by Mahindra, and since I needed larger storage, I requested him to enquire if larger capacity is supported (64 or 128GB).
He enquired at his end and told me that 32GB is the max storage supported.
However, I found no information regarding maximum capacity in the Owners manual or anywhere else I could search.

If anyone is able to use a larger than 32GB MicroSD capacity successfully, kindly update.
Here's the reference to the post on XUV 700 that points to the location of installation of SD Card in 700.

Thanks, this really helps. I’m heading to the dealership tomorrow (they asked me to come in since I complained Adrenox never connects). I’ll get the SD card installation checked too and post here.

Also on my list to check are airbag compatible seat covers and the parcel tray (the accessories person promised to let me know when these are available but has been unresponsive now, so it’s left to me to follow up and get it done).

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

I am writing to express my concern regarding an unexpected change in my vehicle booking. As mentioned before in the thread, I booked online an MX2 Pro AT Petrol in stealth black on May 15th within the first minute at 10 AM, received immediate confirmation for the same variant. However, after a month and four days I got a shock when checked the status online, my online booking status now displays an AX5 Diesel MT – a change that was made without my request or consent.

I have no clue who and why this change was done. The only reason to book it online was to ensure that the correct variant and color was selected.

I have contacted the M&M customer care but they have not been any help so far. I am loosing trust in this brand after seeing multiple QC issues reported by others in the forum.

My question is, will delivery time line or waiting period get reset if the variant is updated back to the original one?

Re: 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO Review

Hello everyone,
This is my first post on this forum! Excited to be here.

I own a 2012 Toyota Etios Liva. I love the car!*
It has a decent ground clearance, excellent legroom for all passengers, and performs decently even now.

We are buying an Automatic-transmission SUV and have finalized 3XO AX5 Petrol AT.
It will be driven by me and my wife, but primarily by her. Our current car is driven only by me.

My wife has driven automatic-transmission cars for a few years outside India, including on the highways and hilly roads. She was not keen on driving the manual-transmission one in India while simultaneously also adjusting to the traffic conditions here when we came back.
Although she has not driven a car for the last 6-7 years, she knows she is a good driver in*terms of skills and road sense, and is confident of driving our new car.
She will mostly use it on city roads, and also on highways but with bumper-to-bumper traffic*patches during daily commute.

Reading all the reviews and comments about 3XO, especially by those who have been driving it now, and judging by my own TD experience, wanted your expert opinions on whether 3XO is not a good choice -

1. Considering that my wife will drive after a few years, and the peppiness of the 3XO may make it difficult to control (or it's just a matter of getting used to the car, whichever it is)

2. Considering the possible unknowns such as inconsistencies in performance, technological issues, and overall driving comfort add to the risk (or should go by instincts and buy what we have liked).*

We mainly liked 3XO for its VFM proposition, and my wife loved the looks and color options.
While performance is a key factor, we don't see us driving above 100 kmph.

Among all test drives, I liked the Honda Elevate the most in terms of driving comfort. I just did not want the test drive to end.
Elevate was our second choice. Its price is 3.5L more than 3XO for the variants we compared (and it's also bigger in length), which is why we did not consider it.
Having said that, do you think it would be the better choice in the longer-term and a less-risky buy, if we keep aside the price difference.

My car XUV 3X0 AX5L 1.2TGDI AT (this name sounds like the name of Elon Musk's son ) has been allotted to me and has been delivered to the dealer - Anant Cars, Mysore Road, Bengaluru today. The SA kept on informing me every day once the car started from the factory at Pune by tracking the container truck, and kept on sharing the screenshots of location, keeping me and my son excited!
Tomorrow evening, at the yard, he has scheduled for a PDI.
I have made the payment today excluding the loan amount (which was approved in a day from SBI with 9.1% interest) and insurance amount.
The total OTR price on the website is shown as Rs. 16,79,447/- (https://www.anantcars.com/new-cars/m...el_type=Petrol) which includes the insurance component of Rs. 62,401/-.
However, the quote the SA sent today showed the total OTR price of Rs. 16,68,307/-, showing the insurance component as Rs. 48,000/-.
I said Kotak Mahindra charges only Rs. 24,600 for the same car. Surprisingly the dealer said they can not match Kotak Mahindra (though it is a sister concern)!
I opted for Royal Sundaram insurance (as I have used it for last 7 years). Now the dealer gave me two quotes one for Rs 33,200/- and one more for Rs. 38,200 with zero depreciation. I revised it by removing tyre protection and key replacements, so the insurance component came to be Rs. 36,700/-.
Hence the OTR price now works out to be Rs. 16,57,007/-.
Further, Rs. 13,490/- will come back to me in my Form 26AS as it is TDS, at the end of FY.
I am taking 4th year additional warranty by paying additional Rs. 15,000/-. The 5th year additional warranty may be taken later during service.
My car is likely to be delivered on 26th!

That’s Great !
I’ve booked mine in the same variant from 2 dealers (from Bangalore) but still no updates regarding the delivery :(
How long did you wait for yours?

Thanks

  • Some updates on the accessories:
  • Seat covers are available. They are quoting 12K. Also on airbag compatibility, they’re saying it’s certified by Mahindra. Not sure if we can trust this. Has any 3X0 owners have seat covers on? Any opinions on airbag safety?
  • Parcel trays are still not in stock
  • Fog lamps are in stock but the SW update needed for it to work is not ready (?!). So they can install but it will not be if use right away.

Man if this is true, and if by chance the seat covers are backwards compatible with the 300, I'd be the first in line to get those.

I simply HATE the leatherette seat covers. They are a nightmare in summers.

I haven't been able to install ANY seat covers for the last 3 years purely because of airbag compatibility.

I have similar and worse experience with dealer changing my booking without my consent multiple times. Here is the story with this dealer from Bangalore:
  • Booked AX7L Petrol AT on 3rd May by paying 21k. Got paper receipt as the online booking was to open only on May 15th.
  • Confirmed the color as Nebula Blue on May 10th.
  • Dealer books Galaxy Grey instead of Nebula Blue on May 16th after the online booking opens.
  • After days of follow up to change the color to Nebula Blue, dealer confirmed that the color is changed in the system on May 22nd.
  • Online status, however, shows that the dealer has changed the color to Stealth Black, instead of Nebula Blue. Wrong color again!
  • Dealer confirms that the colour is corrected to Blue on May 23rd. Online shows Blue on May 23rd.
  • 8th June, Dealer calls to congratulate me on the car allotment. They want to confirm the variant as AX5L Diesel Black while what I have booked from day 1 is AX7L Petrol Nebula Blue.
  • Online status shows the color is now changed to Black again from Blue.
  • Dealer says their system is showing Blue. He sends me a booking reference that says the color is A3OBNBLKGG. He insists this means Nebula Blue.
  • I tweet to Mahindra customer care on X, asking the meaning of A3OBNBLKGG. They forward my complaint to the dealer. No response from the dealer so far, after 12 days.
  • Frustrated, I made a booking with another dealer on 10th June, losing my seniority from May 3rd/16th to June 10th now.
