Sadly, even the pre-FL's weren't great either, but definitely not as bad as the FL (new) key fobs.

Nice! How about some pics?

I am torn (albeit there is no rush) between the HTX and the GTX (for the missus). The former's lighter interiors are the main draw and with the recent rear wiper, wireless charging & alloy update, there is not much to fault in this variant. Also, you gain wireless Apple CP.

So it's a toss up between the 360-deg cam/black-ac-vents on the GTX vs the lighter colors/wireless ACP on the HTX.

Sigh!

Frankly, I haven’t clicked any apart from the delivery day. But I shall click a few once I’m at a good location. Haven’t travelled much since; just local runabouts.

Honestly, I was in a similar conundrum and had nearly got the HTX; however, the GTX w/o the ADAS and being a lakh cheaper sealed the deal at the last minute.

GTX definitely looks the part v/s the HTX. The striking dual tone alloys also make a significant difference and look much better than the ones on the HTX (personal opinion). I also understand your concern about the darker interiors; but trust me, it’s just a matter of getting used to. You’ll not feel any difference.

360 deg cam is a boon in tight spaces. Of course one can still rely on their judgement and stuff (even I was of the same opinion); but once you start using this tech, it’s hard to go back.

The music system in GTX (even w/o the BOSE staging) is much better than the HTX. Plus the screen real estate makes a bit of a difference.

I still feel the ~ 1.40 L premium over and above the HTX is not quite worth it; but than it’s to one’s personal preference. I for one wanted the GTX.

Re: 2024 Kia Sonet Facelift Review

For some reason my TPMS keeps showing low tyre pressure warning value of 28, even though it was filled to 33 PSI just 15 days back. Could this be due to a minor puncture or something? Is this going to be covered under warranty if it turns out to be an issue?

Check for a puncture; however, if at all it is a puncture, than the drop should be gradual. Not 33 to 28 psi straight.

Technical issue should be handled by folks at Kia, under warranty.

I usually don't check pressure everyday but everytime I fuel which is usually month I fill up air to 33, this time I had filled 15 days back so didn't bother, but as I was driving back that day I found low pressure warning which stumped me, will fill it again to 33 and monitor.

Re: 2024 Kia Sonet Facelift Review

I have booked this new updated Kia Sonet HTX DCT edition and expecting delivery tomorrow , please advise if I can end up getting an older car? Dealer not sharing VIN, providing me only Chassis number.

The updated HTX model has rear wiper-washer and alloy wheels. You can differentiate with this. But it's better to insist on getting the VIN number from the dealer.

The full VIN number is stamped under the driver's seat. Please inspect / PDI your car at the dealership and get this assurance for yourself.

And entire article to crack the VIN is available on the forum separately.

Re: 2024 Kia Sonet Facelift Review

Are any discounts ongoing for the Sonet? I visited Shreenath and Autobahn, both are refusing a single penny of discounts and are in fact insisting on the lackluster accessory pack worth 30,297 INR to be purchased along with the car. They were okay if I got insurance from outside though.

Yes, Dealers are offering discounts. Kia is not offering any discounts as per the dealer.
I had a quick home test drive, the SA directly offered me 50K cash discount on on-road price for HTK+ turbo imt variant (Hyderabad : INR 1307000 to INR 1257000) I guess I can squeeze 10-20K more or extended warranty if I negotiate harder with the 'manager'.

PS:
This discount is reduced to 30K if I take insurance from outside
No free accessories than basic mats & mudflaps on offer
These are latest models with rear washer & wipe

Funny thing is that, he was not ready to give the quote in writing citing the negotiation I can do with other dealers

Please do check thoroughly with your respective dealers. Kia is offering some basic discounts, and these crook dealers are promoting it as their own offering and instead taking the credit.

The dealer will try to crook you saying that you can available accessories amounting to 'X' amount which was infact a flat cash discount offered by Kia.

This can be checked in the sales invoice that you'll be getting during the purchase, as the same happened with me too.

So be watchful. I'm sure there are some benefits on the Sonet that are being offered.

Correct. This insurance discount is an eyewash!

First bulk up the quote by a hefty 20k - 25k INR and then reduce it back to original (market price) and offer it as a 'discount'.

You are right. None of the Mumbai dealers are offering any discount. I managed to eke out a measly 10k from Shaw Kia in BKC. That too because I was looking to procure under my corporate car lease program. They are not insisting on any compulsory accessories and insurance will anyway be done separately through leasing company. The model in question is the HTX DCT. I have booked it but Im still looking at options.

Im curious to know if someone’s had a different experience wrt discounts!

When I see the deep discounts rampant on other brands, Im seriously tempted to reconsider my booking.

Re: 2024 Kia Sonet Facelift Review

The prices for Kia Sonet have been marginally revised effective 3rd Sep’24. Anyone heard of the new prices from their dealers? Also, there seems to be a new variant launched - Gravity edition (which comes with a dashcam and indigo coloured interiors) placed between HTK+ and HTX which is quite a good placement considering HTK+ and HTX are the top selling models.

Kia is shooting themselves in the foot.

This isn’t the time to increase prices when the world is offering handsome discounts on some of their flagship offerings.

These cheap variant re-jig and special edition crap will not help much,
