@girish.purswani Many congratulations on the homecoming of this beauty. Doesn't it look drool worthy, and absolute bang for the (extra!) bucks. Wishing you many miles of safe driving. Waiting eagerly for your detailed review, drive review, and lots and lots of pics please. As a prospective X1 petrol buyer for city drives mostly, your perspective and review would be invaluable. Thanks much.

Re: BMW X1 Review

I am confused between X1 Diesel & Audi Q5. The Q5 generation change is due, which is pulling me back. With the current deals on Q5, it's difficult to ignore. What say guys

Re: BMW X1 Review

Dear all, I, Rapid, am very happy to announce that a pre-worshipped 2017 Mediterranean Blue BMW X1 sDrive 20d xLine has recently come under my dad's ownership and I am ecstatic! This is the first premium car that we are currently in ownership of, coming from an ever changing background of Hyundais, Suzukis, Fords, Volkswagens and Skodas. I do not remember how many conversations I had with Copilot about our car and I was super stoked about it at school as well. The conversation between my friend and me went like:
Me: Hey! We are buying a BMW!
Friend:(broadcasts the news to the whole school)
Looking forward to share a full fledged ownership review once my school exams end.
Father hasn't tried Sports mode yet and he is not getting good mileage, even with ECO mode, at least not near the 20.37 km\l mark. The hood houses a diesel TwinTurbo engine. Any highlights would be appreciated.

Any petrol owners for X1 can you please share any long term reviews yet for the new model?

Hi - we bought the petrol M Sport version in Oct 23. It has been a year with both city and highway driving being part of the outings. The car is fantastic, no where short on power and feels very planted even at high speeds. If you have any specific questions I am happy to answer.

Re: BMW X1 Review

I picked up the X1 18i in december for my wife. The car will largely be driven within the city for short distance commutes. My personal drive is the 330Li. My short summary after driving the X1 is that it is a competent car with really nice interiors. The engine will get the job done and will not feel a laggard for most of the time. It does have a feel good factor and looks mordern especially compared to the Q3. However, this is definitely not the BMW drive experience one gets from the 330Li.if someone can stretch the budget, then the 3 series or X3 is the way to go.

Re: BMW X1 Review

I exchanged the Virtus with this X1 sDrive18d last Sunday. The X1 is a May 2024 model, with 9xxx kms on the odo, when I took over the car. The reading now is 11606 kms. It was just the drive back home

Will post more pics and my initial ownership impressions after driving around a few more days. Still exploring the features & getting used to the controls.

I am in the middle. The couple hugging me are very dear friends and the previous owners of the X1.

Re: BMW X1 Review

Hello,

Does the 2025 x1 have auto fold mirrors? I know there is a button to fold them, but can it be programmed to fold on lock and unfold on unlock.

Re: BMW X1 Review

Yes - it does have auto fold mirrors which you can program to fold or unfold based on settings.

You can long press the lock button and mirrors will fold. So does any open windows/ sunroof.

Regarding Auto fold, did you check settings in the idrive? There should be doors and windows in which you should be able to select the same.

Re: BMW X1 Review

Thank you @turbanator and @we_pull. I was able to find the settings in idrive.

Have a few more questions:

- How do i setup a 2nd profile and download it to the idrive. I created my id in myBMW app and it prompts that the country id is mismatched and only bmw customer support can correct it. Without correcting it doesnt allow to proceed with the profile creation. It also does not show all the menu options for me using the 2nd profile, which i'm guessing will get resolved after the profile is corrected.

- Can i enable the digital key ( NFC ) on android ( Samsung and OnePlus ).

- Any other 'hidden' features that can be enabled by coding ?

Thank you for putting up with my questions. The old school me is used to paper manuals, and the online manuals are something i am still getting used to. Plus the stubborn me wants to fiddle with the car without reading the manuals

I have scheduled a demo from their product specialist in a week so getting all the questions together

Re: BMW X1 Review

Hi all,

Has the X1d been discontinued? I was keen to buy one towards the end of March when the discounts were rolling in, but the dealers in Mumbai/Pune said they didn't have X1d stock, and moreover they also said that BMW is deprioritizing the X1d production, and will prioritize the petrol and the iX1 LWB production. One SA boldly claimed that the the diesel will come in the LWB platform. They were perhaps trying to push me towards the petrol, but I was keen on the diesel one (or perhaps the M340i if I save up!).

Yes, they are aggressively pushing the X1 petrol. No production of diesel is what was quoted to us as well. If it comes in the X1 LWB, nothing like it!
