Re: 2023 Tata Safari Facelift Review

Hello everyone
A small update. Dealer has offered me an Accomplished model with the color of choice. 1.5L difference for ADAS basically. Should I go with ADAS and spend the 1.5L now or save it and hopefully not regret later? Since all cars these days are coming up with ADAS even Compact SUV's.

The way I look at it, ADAS is only going to improve as the years go by. Since a lot of these improvements & refinements are software driven, it is definitely possible that they get pushed to existing cars as well. Indeed, the Lane Keep Assist is a functionality that is coming to the Safari and Harrier via an update.

Not all features are useful, some are gimmicky too. But in the overall scheme of things, I don't think 1.5l will make a huge difference. And it is a feature you can always show off about!

If you drive on the highways, ADAS is a boon. I did a 800+ km trip yesterday and it was a stress-free ride due to ADAS.

Hello Everyone,

Got the vehicle allocation mail from Tata. Car will reach the dealership in 3 days. Planning to do PDI after that. Do we have any PDI checklist for safari specific?

In my knowledge, there is no dedicated PDI checklist for Safari. The TBHP PDI checklist applies to all cars and is pretty exhaustive. You can use it for Safari. Request one more person to go along with you. Two people doing PDI, makes it faster and more efficient.

I will share the issues I noticed during PDI of the new Safari:
  • Me and my friend were both intently scouting for scratches/paint-jobs. Front passenger door had signs of small scratches and paint-job on the outside. It was minor and hard to notice so I ignored it
  • Some parts of cabin roof fabric was badly soiled. Asked them to clean it.
  • Hood was not locking securely (even when dropped from 2 feet height) and was rattling. They fixed it to my satisfaction.
  • Nothing apart from above so I happily accepted the car

Special mentions:
  • Check that both keys work
  • Check all lights on front (including the fog lamps) and rear
  • Ensure that the powered tailgate works
  • Definitely check ODO reading. A less driven car is a NEW car. Can't say the same for a car that has been driven a lot (Unless the dealer has a valid explanation)

Catching such issues early will make the delivery experience a happy one. All the best!

Re: 2023 Tata Safari Facelift Review

Hi Folks!!

I have been a Tata Fan since the beginning of 2000's, started with an Indica then upgraded to Indigo and for a short while switched over to a used Skoda after Indigo but the maintenance costs made me sell that pretty soon. I was a BIG fan of Safari since 1998 but the family never approved of it. Finally had my say and after Skoda bought a Safari 2.2 4X4...

did a lot of memorable trips with it but then it was time to change again so went in for the HEXA XTA, never gave any trouble whatsoever, however couldn't drive much as COVID hit then when the offices reopened most of the work was online only. Each year NCR gets hit big due to pollution and the AQI hovering in the Severe Zone on and off and the first ones to take a hit are the poor BS4 Diesel and BS3 Petrol vehicles.

What i don't understand is what is the point of getting PUC if the CAQM feels that it is the BS4 and BS3 vehicles damaging the AQI and is the damage only in winters?? Sorry for the rant Well sold the HEXA XTA today with 62000 kms on the ODO and have booked the Cosmic Gold Safari Accomplished + DT likely to be delivered in max a week...

Re: 2023 Tata Safari Facelift Review

Hi All,

I have been allocated the Safari (Accomplished +) and will hopefully be taking delivery by next week.

Request inputs from existing owners of the new Safari on the following:

1. How has your ownership experience been so far? Any issues? While I absolutely love the Safari, recent articles on niggles/issues cropping up in new vehicles (such as rear light bar not working, speedometer getting stuck on 0 etc) are making me a bit jittery specially considering the price which the new Safari is commanding.

2. Are you able to remote start/stop the vehicle using the IRA app? I have seen some contradictory videos/articles online.

3. Were you able to negotiate any discount/offers from your dealers? My dealer is ready to market-match the insurance quote and probably offer some discount on the accessories but nothing more than that.

4. Regarding the accessories, what all did you purchase from the dealer? I am keen on getting good fitting mats if the same are available at the dealer. Other than the dealer accessories, I have come across a very premium metal key cover on Amazon which I will be going for.

5. While I will be doing a PDI (myself and through a third-party aggregator), anything in particular to look out for?

Request your inputs on the above.

Best,
Enigmatic

Here is a link ...
I have also changed colour preference from Stellar Frost (White) to Galactic Sapphire(Blue). Reason for not buying White is White does loose shine after some time and lot many cars available in White specially few manufacturer offering White Black DT colour.

Blue is ever-green colour among choices available. I did not like Cosmic Gold and Grey colour ones.

Re: 2023 Tata Safari Facelift Review

Hello fellow car folk

Attaching some images from a mini shoot I did. I always like to do these once in a way with my cars. If it interests anyone I could share the nano XTA and the Yezdi scrambler too!

I think I have said all I have to say about the car. But I was curious about the following things. Forgive me if these are amateur quesions:

1. Has anyone ever considered a stage 1 ECU remap for a Safari or a similar car. It has enough power at its disposal but Im just curious. I would like a bit of a rumble with a new filter and an ECE remap. Wont be a big sound change but subtle enough for me to know. However I believe this voids your warranty or they reset it to default during service.

2. Does anyone have a solution to the bumper and the main body being slightly different in white tones. This is actually across all car makers since the materials for both are different. The only solution I could think of was a White Coloured PPF wrap but thats an expensive affair (Did that to my nano)

3. Any experts here on whether spacers enough to make the tires flush with the body (and not beyond) will have any impact on performance? It would not be less than 10-15 mm I checked the specs. Same question about all terrain tires.

4. The safari has white cabin lights and I miss yellow. White makes it quite depressing inside.

Also is there anyone in Mumbai with a facelift that wants to meet up I would love to hang with some fellow owners!

@cityscrambler
You kind of look like Shantanu Naidu, Ratan Tata sir's Gen-Z right hand. Is that you or am I confused?

I just saw your video on YouTube where you review your Safari.
