Mine is an automatic. I have observed that using cruise control, the mileage is better compared to self acceleration.

This is mostly in city drive mode. In sports mode, the mileage would drop by atleast 1-1.5 km.

Re: 2023 Tata Harrier Facelift Review

I own an Fearless Plus AT. I have driven 10,000 kms since I bought the vehicle in April 2024. I have been getting an average of 17-18 kms on highways if driven at an average speed of 90-100 km/h. In city it drops to 13-14 kms.

The best part, that I observed during my recent trip to Spiti Valley, was that the car gave me an average of 13-14 kmh in rough mode driving in D1 or D2 gears.

Re: 2023 Tata Harrier Facelift Review

Fellow Harrier owners (and Bhpians)- thank you for sharing relevant updates and details of your steeds , been immensely helpful!

As you may have guessed, my new Harrier Fearless AT Pebble grey (replacing my Storme V400) is in transit, hoping to pick it up by the 20th weekend. Request owners (specifically of the facelifted model) to share PDI checklist, that you may have used while getting urs; would be immensely helpful!
It's been sometime (8+years) since I did one and cars have gotten much advanced, with electronics and other paraphernalia; a focused PDI checklist would be great help for old-school folks like me, moving over from old school cars like the Storme.

Thanks in advance..

Congrats Avinash! I also recently moved from the Storme 2015 to the Safari! I've been loving the experience so far but miss the Storme as well, especially the driving position. The Harrier looks smashing and these cars feel really solid! Only possible replacements for the Storme in my view in this budget.

Good to know @Familyguy! For me it was a close decision between the Scorpio N and the Harrier. Although I TDed the new Safari too but only because the TD Harrier wasn't available at the time, never considered for replacement as I don't need 7 seats.
Eventually I did TD the Harrier (besides the N) and chose it primarily because of the big boot and spacious interiors, necessity for my family road trips.

Cheers

Re: 2023 Tata Harrier Facelift Review

Test drove the Harrier again. Family is now thinking of booking it. I have a few questions, if any one can help me with answers to these.

1. So at the moment there are discounts. Apart from discounts from Tata Motors, the dealership is also offering decent discounts which can go up and I think there is still room for bargain. These are quite decent discounts. The Sales Advisor said that these discounts are valid till October 31st. But these are calculated on ex-showroom, so if the prices are revised in November at the time of delivery. There might be a chance where we might not get these discount. Sales Advisor said that he can commit on the dealership discount but not on the ex-showroom. I am okay to pay additional RTO fees on the revised ex-showroom but I think I should have a commitment on the ex-showroom at the time of booking. Is it something I can stay adamant on? He said it is industry standard from Maruti to Mercedes.

2. The SA also mentioned that if I order Pebble Grey he will order it, however it will take a month (which I ok with) since its going to come from Pune. He also cautioned that there might be a few cases where there could be fit and finish issues but he won't be able to provide a replacement for it, given the demand for Pebble Grey is almost negligible. He suggested to go for Dark Edition. I am curious, if I book and the car doesn't pass PDI in that case I should get my booking amount back? (To clarify a little more, he did say that in case of a major issue he would understand why I would be cancelling the booking but for minor issues he assured he will fix it. The thing I am unsure of is what's major and minor from whose perspective. Something might be a major issue for me but a minor issue for SA).

3. Although family likes the dark edition. We had settled on Pebble Grey (Fearless AT) primarily due to the fact that its an uncommon color and the car will be made specifically on order. Another factor was the 18 and 19 inch alloys. How much decrease in mileage and additional cost of 19inch tyres should I expect.

4. A friend of mine suggested me to wait a little more and buy the car in December and register it in 2025. I want to understand how much does this impact a car's resale value?

Thanks for reading.

Re: 2023 Tata Harrier Facelift Review

Hi handfulsteer,
1. The auto dealers do not have any control on the ex-showroom prices irrespective of the auto manufacturer. The SA is right saying that they cannot commit on the ex-showroom discount unless he has the car stock at his dealership. But nevertheless I do not see the prices changing in the coming months.
2. In my opinion major defects will be with respect to manufacturing defects and those which the dealer cannot rectify by themselves. Minor defects would typically be related to electronics malfunctioning, which the dealers are capable to handle.
3.I have a dark edition fearless plus AT. I am not facing any issues with fuel economy. In fact I find them to be better suited to drive over pot holed and rough roads now that I have clocked 10,000km on the odo. However I am not sure of the additional cost o 19 inch tyres

Hope this helps!!

Thanks for these pointers Baby Driver. I really appreciate it. I saw your comment just after my extended test drive. So, we have finally booked the Harrier (Fearless AT, Dark Edition) this afternoon. Now we wait.

Having said this, there are a lot of people who do not find this to be an issue, so don't let what I say influence your decision.
Thanks for pointing this out. I specifically checked for this issue in my test drive today and honestly I was comfortable. I am not sure if it was my seat adjustment or what but I hope this comfortable for me. For context I am 5'8 and lean.

I am now in search of PDI checklist items specific to Harrier. So kind knowledgeable gents here please share.

I would really like to thank contributors here in this thread and other threads on teambhp, their experiences and comments have taught me so many new things.

You can take PDI services of Zekardo. I have read multiple reviews on Team BHP which say they do have a very detailed PDI checklist and do a good job. I have though not taken their services and relied on my personal instincts to do the PDI .

Re: 2023 Tata Harrier Facelift Review

Hello from a newbie here. I have been an avid follower of this forum and it has helped in some of our previous car purchases and my first car. It was the 2020-2023 Tata Nexon Petrol. Now coming to the point, I was looking for a bigger car and this thread has been of great help for me on deciding my next car i.e. the Tata Harrier. I have booked the Fearless + AT in White. In Bangalore, I recieved quote of Rs. 31,64,206 as the best possible one with KA registration as Karnataka doesn't allow BH registration for private employees. So, when I visited my native Assam during the Durga Puja period, it was in my mind to check the price there as I had already completed multiple TD of both Harrier and the Safari, it was just about the amount. I was a bit surprised to see that the AS registration came to be 3.4 lacs cheaper (5.07 lacs in KA vs 1.7lacs in AS), though I knew it's cheaper never expected the difference to be this high. Then came the next part, my requirement for BH registration as I don't want any hassle while driving in KA nad other states. So, asked for BH registration, my wife's office is available in 4 states, and it was indeed available for the initial amount of ~35K (for 2 years), the total initial on road amount being Rs 26,74,390 . So, the decision became very easy and booked the vehicle and now waiting for delivery just before Diwali. Dealer commitment is that it'll arrive there before 28th October. So eagerly waiting for the delivery now. The next part is to find a good transport service provider to transport the vehicle as I have a 2 year old and it'll be too much for him to travel 3K KMs. If anyone has any suggestions for the transport, please do share.

Heartiest congratulations on the Harrier buy, wishing you many happy mile crunching and safe drives.

If I were you I wouldn't have opted to transport the vehicle instead would have loved the drive of 3k kms to Bangalore provided you are familiar with the roads and the road conditions including the rest stoppages. The Harrier is a comfortable vehicle and one does not feel any fatigue if driven calculatedly.

Thank you @ghodlur. I would love to drive as well, that's one of the reason for opting for the Harrier as I want to do this road trip. However, there are couple of blockers to do it at this point . First being, our 2 year old has motion sickness, so need to have him on medicine during long drives, don't want to put him on that medication for 5 days straight. And the second being leaves from work place. But it's certainly on my bucket list, hopefully will be able to do it sooner than later.
