Attached is my car's version (there seems to be an update available over the air, but I can't see it).

I am getting mine delivered later this week and can check and confirm. Unless you get the info before, that is.

And yes, I recall you and I were the early adopters of Endeavour 3.2 in early 2016. However, for me this is not a replacement as the Endy is still going strong. We use it for Road-Trips and mostly highways. Done just about 60k and still no niggles or breakdowns yet. We even did some super long trips to north recently. Another point, the heart does not yet agree to letting go of a 3.2L - 5 pot high torque engine which is like a dream these days.

For me the GLC will be a replacement for my 2019 C220d W205 which was our city runaround car. Given the state of Bangalore roads, we decided we need a higher vehicle. The fact that this can also serve for short road-trips is an additional bonus.

(for us short road trip is a week and normal ones are 3 weeks and hence Endy scores for the storage).

I have not ordered any accessories other than what comes with the car (mats, rubber mats and car cover). Any guidance or advice on what to add. Also any guidance on things-to-do or look out for will also be deeply appreciated.

Question to anyone who has done PPF on this model. Did you get the side rear-view mirrors removed for PPF? If yes, are they removed by removing front door-pads? Any guidance?

Hi Naresh,
I am glad to see that we are on a similar platform once again
I am using GLC as the replacement for Endeavor, mostly for the long drives.
Already nearing 5K, have been a great experience so far except for this s/w glitch.

I have done full PPF for the car, 3M 200 gsm gloss, I had it done by the dealership itself (since removing panels, etc can be complex and I didn't want to mess up these working with third-party vendors). The work done seems to be of excellent quality.

I would also strongly suggest going with MB provided dual-channel dashcam.
Considering my experience, please do ask the dealership to check and fully update all the relevant s/w to the latest versions.

Btw. are they providing car cover as part of standard accessories now?

Does MB use 3M? Asking as 3M only has 100 and 150 gloss with 7 years and 10 years warranty respectively. Let me check on 200 as well. How much is cost of full car?

When you refer to removal of panels, which ones are these?

MB does not have the Dashcam anymore for the GLC. At least in India. That is what they told me. I am ok using 3rd party like VIOFO 4k A229 Pro. For my C Class, the Mercedes technician guided me on which fuses to tap in the Engine Bay Fuse box. I will check on this again. However, I am seriously inclined on VIOFO as I have been using various models of theirs on all my cars. Endy currently has the A229 Pro Dual Channel and is great.

The Mats (including boot mat) come with the car. Rubber Mats and Cover are accessories. Have asked for them. I will check again and update.

Here is the link to 200gsm 3M PPF (cost was about 2.14 lakhs before tax) https://www.3mindia.in/3M/en_IN/p/d/b5005352002/

This is what they told me also initially and I went ahead and bought A229 Pro, I approached a decent third party to install it, and then I realized how complex it can be to install, I went back to MB (by that time they had it in stock and I was able to get it installed), works very well.

I have provided details of these in my ownership thread https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-...s-3500-km.html (Bluejay | My Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Review | Ownership & Travels @ 3500 KM)

Here is what my car is displaying. No idea if this is the latest or there is something later than this as well.

I have reached out to my service manager to check, he said he will investigate and update me. Normally it should prompt to update to MBUX 2.4 version.

Re: Mercedes GLC SUV Review

Folks,

Anyone managed to source a good set of 7D mats for the new GLC? Asking as the rubber mats given by the dealer (on top of the regular OEM mats) are of different designs for front and rear. The rear ones fit perfectly but the front one I am told are not being supplied by MB so they have given a C Class mat.

I have been using 7D mats in my other cars and previous C Class which helped protect the carpet edge to edge. Hence looking for the best option.

Another thing I noticed is that most mats on Amazon do not take in to account the 12v socket in the front passenger foot well and hence do not fit plush. Another reason I am seeking advice here in case anyone found a good brand. Thanks in advance.

Another question: Did anyone fit a 3rd party Dashcam to the GLC? MB has stopped supplies for their dashcam as there is a product upgrade in the offing and the new one is expected but will take time. I am planning to fit VIOFO A229 Pro Dual Channel as I found it to be excellent and I am using the same in my Ford Endeavour.

Re: Mercedes GLC SUV Review

I got the latest software updates installed earlier this week, NTG7 (MBUX), the Latest map software, and a few other control unit software updates were done.

Looks like the NTG7 versions are different based on specific batches (not sure why), for my car the earlier version was _E330.* and the latest was _E445.* ; unless they check in the service center hooked up to their system software updates monitor, we won't know what is the latest version available. Also, it wouldn't update over the air either.

Re: Mercedes GLC SUV Review

We recently test drove the GLC 300 as we were planning to upgrade from our old Q5.

The test drive vehicle was going into continuous warning chime mode after 80 kmph itself instead of 1 beep after 80 kmph and continuous beeping after 120 kmph.

The sales guy said it was a recent software update and asked us to turn up the music volume to drown out the continuous chiming.

Is this the case with all GLCs or Mercs? This would be really annoying on expressways with higher speed limits.

Re: Mercedes GLC SUV Review

I had this issue in my car when it was delivered - its the old version of the software that has an issue. It was fixed easily by a software update - no longer an issue now.

It is a single beep at 80+ kmph with a yellow warning on the screen. Continuous beeps only start at 120+.

Continous beeps after 120+ km/hr only.

By the way. I was checking the lane keep assist by removing the hands from the steering just a bit (not too far away from the steering), it would immediately detect that and the attention assist warning keeps coming after about 30 seconds or so, then the car says emergency braking and stop procedure activated (thinking the driver is no longer able to drive consciously); good safety features! Once I took back the steering control, it went back to normal mode.
But I feel the steering/attention assist is too aggressive, I can't sometimes understand why it prompts.

My 2022 GLC has one warning chime if you cross 80 KMPH and then a chime every two minutes as long as you stay above 80 KMPH. Continuous beeps above 120 KMPH. None of these can be drowned out by music or software. In fact, Mercedes software fades music in favour of these beeps and chimes.

A chime every 2 minutes above 80KMPH hour is unusual, it may require a software upgrade. Normally there is one chime when you cross 80KMPH and then nothing till you reach 120, post that continuous chime.

It’s exactly like this for my GLC as well.

@bordeux: Do look into whether a software upgrade can resolve this. Also, I feel the music does well to not make the chime intrusive.
