Re: Citroen C3 Aircross Review

Last month I booked XL6 and expecting delivery by this Navratri.
On my way to Nexa showroom some 2weeks back I happen to pass by a Citroen showroom and decided to give C3 Aircross a try.
After spending some 15-20mins with the car (Topend variant which is expected to be priced ~14.75 onroad with the packages included), I couldn't find any strong enough reason(s) to choose it over XL6/Ertiga!
Imoh, it's dead on arrival⚡

Did you get a chance to drive the vehicle ?
Because that's where its better compared to other vehicles in its class.

I've heard that it's suspension setup & engine is good. But I didn't feel like taking its testride after a quick visual inspection, neither did the sales guy push me in that direction.
For my needs, I'm looking for a proper 6/7 seater upto 16L onroad - petrol MT/AT, primarily for city use, should have decent performance (can accelerate easily upto 80-100kmph with full load and can do those speeds all day long for occasional highway rides), worry free after sales & services, basic features, a bit of bling (hence XL6 over Ertiga), no sunroof!

I think Citroen should have either priced it aggressively or given it some more features(bling!) that people usually demand in this category.

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross Review

My cousin checked Citroen C3 Aircross and he told me that they don't have service center here in Pune! Wow! Pune is one of the major cities in India and has almost become metro like city now. They said their service van will come and do servicing at home. In case of any body work, they have tie-ups with 3rd party vendors. After hearing this, I was speechless, couldn't comment anything. How can company survive with such stupid strategies? Top management should be fired immediately. How can they expect to succeed with such pathetic service? Imagine your new car gets scratch and you have to go to outside vendor for fixing it. If Pune has this scenario, can't imagine how they will manage tier 2 and 3 cities.

Just read that deliveries to begin only after 15th October. They are hardly manufacturing any cars over last 1 year & still can't start deliveries immediately with launch, simply pathetic. Also company trying to gather booking by announcing indicative pricing of the top end models, again speechless.

All these things clearly shows they are not very serious about the Indian market. Soon they will flop and will start blaming Indian government on various things like taxes, labor issues and what not. God bless Citroen and it's customers.

It appears they are still looking for a dealer in Pune.

My SA told that this "service on wheel" is only available if service center is not within 50KM area (not so sure if radius or diameter).

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross Review

I sat in the car in the citroen showroom 2 weeks back. For the amount of space and seating comfort on offer, the price is definitely good. If the suspension is anything like that of the C3 hatch, this will be a very comfortable car.

I agree with you. They seem to have gone for asset light model, but there are many other issues to be handled other than regular service. I wonder how does the dealer make money if they don't service as this where the regular income comes in. Probably as the dealer is not assured of the volume, they have not invested in a service station which could cost a couple of crores.

I would be very scared to purchase a car backed by such business model. Not offering an automatic is another blunder done by Citroen.

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross Review

Excellent prices! Even better than i thought.
I did quickly check out the car this weekend and was pretty impressed with what you get. Looks far more expensive than what it is & very good stance too.
I think something like a Xuv700 is too big for a daily city drive
Dealbreakers
  • No retractable mirrors. The mirrors themselves are very wide and hence needs the retractable function in chaotic India
  • No ACC. Used to not having to constantly fiddle with the AC control especially when there are multiple riders.
  • Bad placement of Rear Power window switches. Simply inconvenient.
  • No Cruise Control. With expressways coming up, i think this can be useful.

Per their website, there are two showrooms and one service centre in Pune.

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross Review

This video came as a surprise. I wonder the aircross would be able to achieve the same considering the extended body and added weight. For the price, its a good proposition but I think a variant with more creature comforts at a slight premium would not be a bad idea. It would have a lot of takers

Citroen has a sales and service network rivaling something like a Rolls Royce but that's not going to stop a good product

0-100 is good but is it as easy to drive in City traffic?! Guess we'll have to find out soon enough.
