Re: Honda Elevate Review

Domestic Sales:

Elevate has sold 2475 nos in Mar'25. This is their best sales since Mar'24 (3277).

I hope this is a sign of increased growth!

To my surprise after this road trip the car is giving slightly better average of 0.5kmpl for my daily commute in the city. So far I’ve clocked 13900kms since my purchase in July 2024.
The car is indeed rock solid and gives lots of confidence!

Glad to see you recording avian life!! During my recent trip to Baroda, the Sunday morning was spent on Birding

After my return, I am also seeing a slightly better average - let me see if it continues!!

Re: Honda Elevate Review

I have a Honda Elevate V-MT. I miss one feature from my honda city where I can just twist the key a little bit and switch off the engine but still keep the music playing.

In the elevate, has anyone figured out how to:
1) Start the electricals (so that I can listen to music) without starting the engine.
2) Stop the engine and keep the music going.

I don't have an Elevate but have driven multiple cars with engine start/stop button. You can press the start/stop button without pressing the brake to start ONLY electricals, and vice versa to keep electricals running and shut off the engine.

1st point is easily doable. Just press the start/stop switch once without depressing the clutch pedal in MT or the brake pedal for the AT. This turns on the accessories. You can play the music.
Second point, even I would like to know if it can be done except stalling the car intentionally in MT

I can confirm the first point from my ZX MT (no clutch, press the start button).

For the second point, I also checked with Honda showroom/service folks. There is no way to turn off just the engine.

However, MT does allow stalling to stop the engine as you said. I don't prefer or recommend doing that but it's a valid workaround if needed (say you are on a call that you don't want to disrupt).

Re: Honda Elevate Review

Which reminds me: I also miss a basic feature that even my 15 year old Wagon R provides -- windows automatically close when I lock the car.

I get disappointed every time I forget to close the windows before locking my Elevate and then coming back to find them open. Lately it has been happening less often, now that I'm used to it. Still bothers me though.

For the second point, put the gear in neutral and turn off the engine—the music will keep playing. You can shift to park afterward if you want to stop completely, and the music will still continue. However, once you start the engine again, the infotainment system restarts.

From my point of view, I consider it as a safety logic. Sometimes, you intentionally want to open part of windows for air circulation inside your car, especially if there's a pet inside or in summers etc.

Although this would've been a good idea but I'm not sure if any other companies are providing such feature at this range.

Elevate is a completely practical car so I guess they are more inclined towards practicality rather than features.

Honda still provides you an option to check window status through Honda Connect whenever you want.

Hmm, ok. I'll try the app. I have been avoiding it to keep my phone uncluttered.

I don't view auto closing windows as a fancy feature. In my mental model, it is an integral part of locking the car. If someone can reach into the car then it is not really locked.

It would be nice to have some method to close all windows from outside the car, even if it is not enabled by default for safety reasons.

I have been told by friends that some cars have a button on the remote key (or some combination of button presses) to manually trigger the window close action. So I have tried button combinations, long presses, etc. without success.

Re: Honda Elevate Review

May be the auto-closing of windows after door lock wasn't a factory fitted system. There is a module fitted inline with central locking system which is an aftermarket unit. I got it done for my Zen back in the day. It costed me Rs. 2K donkey years ago.

You are probably right. Before delivery I had gotten the Maruti dealer to install power windows and central locking system with a remote. The variant that I bought did not have those features by default. The accesories were offered by and supported by Maruti, but probably as a tie-up with an aftermarket vendor.

This is the India manufactured car which is sold as WR-V that has been tested I suppose.

Quoting from the article

Manufactured in India and exported to Japan, where it is sold as the WR-V, the SUV has scored an impressive 176.23 out of 193.8 points under the JNCAP’s 2024 evaluation protocol.
