I am in same boat as you are but i have not cancelled the booking yet. I would like to ask the experts here what are the possible aftermarket options to increase the under thigh support preferrable front seats or else at least the driver seat?

Re: Honda Elevate Review

Two dealers have shared the range of 11-16L ex-showroom with me. I think that's pretty solid pricing from Honda. Does mostly undercut the competition and with the reliability of Honda, I think it'll do good numbers.

Couldn't find a TD vehicle though and the dealer told me there was just one in Delhi being allocated to dealers for 2 days each and they should get it by early September.

Being a Civic 8th gen owner, I did like the new City overall and have good expectations of Elevate as well. Should be a no nonsense family car.

Re: Honda Elevate Review

Went to check out Elevate to see how it is in real:

Recently when the Honda Elevate was launched, I booked it. I am VW 2015, Polo driver. I Have been yearning for a new car for long time specially after I cancelled my VW Virtus GT under dubious circumstances created by seller.

Before I delve into my initial thought, I wanted to say why I have been yearning for a new car. While the Polo has always been a fun to drive and have been a great companion on many of my trips but as I went from single to double to treble my need for extra room inside the car started screaming in front of my face. My wife always complains about the less or almost nil leg space in the back seat of a polo and the lack of receiving the AC air while on trips in summers. Boot is still manageable, but a bigger boot will be most helpful considering that we carry almost everything while travelling. Looking at all this I booked the Virtus GT plus but as mentioned had to cancel it, a story that I can narrate later. So, let’s not go further and let me share my initial thought after seeing it in real.

1. Length: Quite big (in numbers) but still do not feel like that in person, until you seat inside in the driver's seat and see the bonnet. That's when you feel it's quite a big car with a straight bonnet line.

2. Seat: While many YouTube video review suggests that the seat are quite comfy, but I felt lack of under thigh support and the backseat felt very narrow. Also, there is a lack of airy feel inside and doesn't make it a good second row seat in contrary to what I have seen in the video reviews. Seat seemed pretty narrow and I felt it can't accommodate more than two adults.

3. Roofline and Sunroof: Roofline seemed cheap, and the sunroof is just fine. I am not a big fan of sunroof but in Elevate it penetrated some light inside making it feel little breathable.

4. Body: There were squeaking noise from the cladding around the door when pressed and the body doesn't seem to be of the standard that you expect (coming from my experience of using a VAG car). Paint quality seemed just okay. Door do not feel heavy too.

Overall, I felt very disappointed and I really have my doubts if this would a hot seller. The engine is 1.5 NA and might be a fun engine but only that wouldn't pull. After coming out I had this very underwhelming feeling and the showroom overall look and feel also did not made me feel okay. In-fact the Yelankha Bangalore showroom, do not even seemed like one and you would barely find it if you had not put a pin or not have been a previous Honda customer.

My disappointment took me to Skoda showroom nearby to reaffirm whether VAG is the one that I should continue using or stick to while upgrading. Sitting inside the Kushaq, made me realise that even though this is VAG India 2.0 but still far better than the Honda in terms of build quality, paint and finish.

Re: Honda Elevate Review

Went to Pride Honda, Hitech City, Hyderabad last Saturday to check it out in the flesh. Left feeling a tad disappointed, but still hopeful for Honda India based on the SA's comments. My key takeaways:
  • Exterior looks decent overall. The front shape is muscular as expected, the back looks "fine" as well
  • Interior was somewhat disappointing. I didn't like the faux wood panel in front. Space was okay. However, the 2023 Honda City beside felt MUCH more premium
  • Boot space looked decent
  • Rear seating was average - the hump is more prominent
  • Quality of plastics etc are okay - similar to my 2017 City
  • The view from the front seat is very "elevated". I feel I won't be able to notice anything lying on the road (strange feeling - but I didn't feel this while sitting in the Seltos 2023)
  • The 2023 Seltos interiors feel more premium, though the Seltos exterior IMO is somewhat over-blingy
  • The half sunroof doesn't excite me :(

SA Note: I asked what the pricing would look like. He said 2 key things:
  • As everyone inferred, he said that the top end should be 19-20L OTR Hyderabad
  • Interesting part: he also said lower variants would be significantly lower OTR

I feel that if Honda can sensibly price the SV/V trims, they will have good success. However, if I compare overall between Seltos 2023 HTX IVT and Elevate ZX CVT, Seltos still has a bit of an edge. For me as a City customer, I wasn't excited enough to look forward to this!

Now that I saw this video, how will I unsee this!

They could have placed at least 1 control on the right side to allow for some symmetry if they were planning ADAS just for the top model!

Agreed. So disappointing because this was the model I was eyeing. I think it means no cruise control for the lower variants. There is also a chance that the manual version of this variant may come without the wireless charger as one fellow Bhpian has pointed out earlier.

I’m curious to know if the body-coloured side door cladding is also exclusive to the top trim or is it an accessory that can be added later.

If one were to analyse opinions in this thread, the viewpoints would range from extreme satisfaction to profound disappointment. The protracted timeline from the initial announcement, product reveal, media drives, showroom unveiling, to the still awaited pricing disclosure, test drives, and eventual delivery is undeniably prolonged and only contributing to the frustration.

Indeed, locating the Yelahanka showroom is challenging due to the absence of adequate signage.

As someone who had booked the Taigun Topline AT only to cancel it later, I wish I could convince myself to rethink my decision. Almost two years into the launch, persistent reports of AC malfunctions, power window problems, dashboard rattles, and occasional engine troubles remain a big concern.

Absolutely. While I can comprehend the rationale behind standardization and assembly cost-efficiency, this design appears to necessitate adding a counterbalance on the right side

I must say I'm a little disappointed honestly. Cruise control should have been there. Honda could've skipped the sunroof and reserve sunroof only for the top end ZX but missing out on cruise control is disappointing. Manual IRVM on an almost top variant ??? No center armrest at the rear ??? Come-on Honda. Get your basics right !!

Agree. That looks terrible and an eyesore in an otherwise decent-looking steering. They could have rearranged the phone controls on the right side for lower variants.

Does anyone feel that the dia of steering is bigger to hold (maybe not comfortable for people with small hands)? Not seen yet in the flesh though.

Also found that the thumb counter is different in LHS and RHS. Is this OK? Expert pl comment.

+1.

But if the price is set right (Aggressive), Knowing the no nonsense nature of Honda cars, Elevate can really eat up lot of NA engines sales from competition and from the sibling City.

All have posted their opinion about pros and cons but majority of us are awaiting price announcement to take final decision. I have kept my booking still intact.

Re: Honda Elevate Review

Spent about 15 minutes inside the TD vehicle of Elevate ZX CVT. The driver seat even in the lowest position, as observed by many users before, gives a commanding SUV feel much like the Ford Ecosport. What I disagree with the previous reviews about the doors being flimsy is that, the doors are actually heavier than my City 5G facelift.

The front grill is fake as bulls manure when you touch it. I feel that the front has been a bit overdone while the rest of the design, though not as great as the Seltos, is pretty much on point and pleasing to the eye. The White and Obsidian Blue are the best Colors according to me.

The rear center passanger seat is for a child below 12 and this child is going to be very very comfortable there even with a hump. As observed by other users, the dimensions on the outside far outscore the dimensions on the inside.

Infotainment is an upgrade from the City and the AC felt better than the City. The soft leather touches are good on the doors and dash. I think that the wooden finish on the dash should have been much darker or appealing.

Test Drive review: I never drove a CVT in my life and it felt easy. I mean it’s a few miles far from the City in terms of driving pleasure, but it’s CVT is pretty convenient than the AT Virtus that I drove around the city. Although, I don’t think it’s going to be anywhere close to the Virtus on the Highway drive dynamics.

This is an A to B family car and I feel that it’s going to score better than the City in safety. If you live in a busy city like Bangalore or Delhi, away from home with your wife and kids, this is the car for you or if you’re an old person who is need of a calm, safe and sedate easy to drive car, this is the one. I have not driven the City CVT but I think Elevates gonna be slower by a couple seconds. I think that the engine should have been tuned a bit higher for performance.

Re: Honda Elevate Review

Honda Elevate ZX has been gathering the highest number of bookings, with the second most in-demand variant being the Elevate V.

- Deliveries will commence by late September.

Re: Honda Elevate Review

After watching V, VX and ZX walkaround videos

2 airbags - V, VX and ZX
Isofix anchor points on rear seats - V, VX and ZX
CVT transmission - V, VX and ZX
Rear parking camera and sensors - V, VX and ZX
Rear defogger - V, VX and ZX
Rear parcel tray - V, VX and ZX
Led Projector Headlights and Taillamps - V, VX and ZX
Led interior map lamps - V, VX and ZX
Speakers - V(4), VX(6), ZX(8)
4 Adjustable headrests seats - V, VX and ZX
Auto AC - V, VX and ZX
Rear AC vents - V, VX and ZX
12V port + Front 2 USB ports - V, VX and ZX
12 V port in Rear - V, VX and ZX
Infotainment - V(8 inch), VX(8 inch) and ZX(10 inch)
Shark fin antenna - V, VX and ZX
Driver fixed armrest with storage - V, VX and ZX
Electrically adjustable rear view mirrors - V, VX and ZX
Keyless Entry, Push Button Start Stop and Request sensor (both front doors) - V, VX and ZX

Rear wash+wiper - VX and ZX
Fog lamps - VX and ZX
Roof rails - VX and ZX
Alloy wheels - VX and ZX
Sunroof - VX and ZX
Passenger vanity mirror - VX and ZX
Digital MID - VX and ZX
Lane watch camera - VX and ZX
Electrically foldable rear view mirrors - VX and ZX

6 airbags - ZX
ADAS - ZX
Leatherette seats - ZX
Leatherette soft-touch dashboard and door pads - ZX
Driver vanity mirror - ZX
Rear seat armrest - ZX
Cruise control - ZX
Auto Dimming IRVM - ZX
Chrome door handles - ZX
Painted plastic cladding on Doors - ZX

To me, V covers most of the stuff, but it sorely misses out on Rear wash+wiper, Rear centre armrest and Sunglass holder which should have been provided . V also misses out fog lamp switch unlike Mahindra Scorpio-N, again involves entire stalk change. After market fitting of all these features invites serious work.

Cruise control in atleast CVT from V onwards would have been added bonus. Fitting this means replacing dummy part in steering wheel and other wirings.

Honda strategy, tempt high-variant Amaze customers to Elevate mid-variants. Protect mid-variant City by equipping it with feel good features. Let customers decide between high-variant City and Elevate.

Existing Jazz and City customer won't feel like upgrade if buying Elevate unless they want this as second/beater car at home.
