Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

Does iphone 16 pro work with the Apple Carplay on Seltos? I tried multiple USB-A to USB-C cables and none of them seem to work. I know there are different USB-C cables for power only and data+Power, but I am unable to find the right one.

TIA!
What is the OTR price for GTX+ DCT you are getting in Mumbai, vs Pune?

Use USB A port for data connection. USB C is only for power..

20.5 in Mumbai, 20.8 in Pune with BH registration.
I've decided to wait a bit for the prices to come down some more. Hoping to get it around the 19.8-20 mark.

Cool! Hope the year end brings some respite for us car buyers.
BH registration is a boon at the beginning, reducing the outright cost
It hurts to see the amount of tax we are paying in MH for registration.

After a bit of research, i realized USB-C cables come in multiple classes. some of the cheap ones are Power-only and others are designed for Power and Data. For Carplay, you need a Data+Power USB-A to USB-C cable. Problem is most cables in this category, especially the cheap ones are power only.
I narrowed down my choice to one from Logitech that works!
Alternatively, you can use a Lightning to USB-adapter with your old iphone charging cable.

Yeah I believe big discounts will be there, only thing is the colour that we want might not be in stock.
I was surprised when checking the on road prices in Delhi vs MH, huge difference in road tax for comparatively worse roads

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

A bit of advice needed.
My parents recently took Kia Seltos GTX Plus on a trip to Jaipur. They called me today and told that they kept a water bottle on rear seat but somehow water got leaked and got absorbed in seats. Approx. 1L of water.

Will there be any permanent damage? or any other issues/solutions?

Take the seat base out and dry it using vaccum or in the sun. It is not difficult to remove it. That way they can also get any water collection in the floor to also clean/vaccum. this is a must do!

Should I tell them to take seats out right now, or tomorrow morning?

Also these are leatherette seats. Is the process same for fabric vs leatherette seats?

As soon as possible. Moisture inside the cabin and in carpets will cause dampness and bad odour. Prolonged exposure can also encourage growth of mold and mildew.

Leatherette is generally more water-resistant compared to natural leather. It does not absorb water as quickly, making it easier to wipe off spills before they seep in.

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

Hello everyone,

Our family is interested in getting the X-Line Turbo DCT variant, so had a few doubts which I wanted to clear.

1. Does the car get traffic sign recognition (speed limits mostly), in some of the photos posted by fellow members here, I could see a speed limit on the instrument cluster. Is this speed limit captured by the signs present on the road or by the navigation system provided by MapsMyIndia?

2. Also do we get cornering lamps?

3. I have heard several people mention that the headlights are not that great; I just wanted to know if it is that bad?

4. Is PPF necessary for the matte finish, and if we get PPF done, how easy/difficult is it to maintain the car?

Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

1. The speed limit is determined by the inbuilt navigation system (MapmyIndia, I think..) It's not always accurate and shouldn't be relied on.

2. No cornering lamps. Majority of these new gen cars don't have this useful feature unfortunately (our 1st gen Creta had it and we sorely miss it on our Seltos and 2nd gen Creta).

3. Below average. And hopelessly bad in rains. The upgrade is tricky and expensive.

4. Matte PPF is highly recommended. It helps in protecting the matte paint work and makes things easy to maintain. Once you have a good quality PPF, you don't have to worry much about the extra maintenance and care that the matte paint requires. The only downside is the initial cost and limited life of the PPF. You will have to replace it within a stipulated time with a new film which can be expensive as well as time consuming. But it's sure all worth it when you look at that beautiful well maintained matte paint.

As for the headlights part, is it better in Creta/Alcazar?
