No it doesn't save your previous driving mode. By default it always starts in normal driving mode. However, I think if you selected a traction mode (sand/mud/ice), then it would start in the same mode, unless you switch to drive modes.

Manual says that if vehicle is stopped in NORMAL/SPORT mode it starts in NORMAL mode. If stopped in ECO Mode it starts in ECO Mode. I have not verified it personally as I generally drive in normal mode. May be you can check it.

Stopped or turned off? If you normally stop without turning off the engine, the mode will remain as is. But if you turn it off, the mode is reset to "Normal".

I meant turning off the engine when I said stopped. Below is the exact wording from manual:

"The driving mode will be set to NORMAL or ECO mode when the engine is restarted. If it is in NORMAL/SPORT mode, NORMAL mode will be set, when the engine is restarted.

If it is in ECO mode, ECO mode will be set when the engine is restarted."

Great catch. Probably an instance when the manual is wrong

In reality, when we restart the car, it is always in Normal mode.

In addition to what others have said, I don't think the manual is wrong per se, it's a bit of ambiguous in its definition of restarting the engine.

In the case of the engine turning off because of the car's ISG feature, it always restarts for me in the same mode it was in. i.e. if I'm in Eco mode when stopping at a signal and the ISG kicks in, it'll restart in Eco mode. However if the car was in Eco mode when I park the car at home, it'll start in Normal mode when I fire it up the next morning.

What I’ve observed , in my IVT, is when in ECO mode if I turnoff, shift to parking mode ( with handbrake) and start again, it starts in normal mode. Whereas if it stops due to AutoStop or I stop but don’t shift to P, it starts back in ECO.

Even with this, the rear speakers hardly offers voice clarity in its output. Did others experience similar situation and would replacing the stock rear speakers with coaxials help?
Hi! I have a couple of queries here, did you draw wires from the rear speakers and connect them to the amplifier in question or is it only powering the subwoofer currently?

If yes, you are not supposed to do so, as the stock speakers are not rated to handle 50-60w power that a 4 channel amplifier may provide. Stock speakers are only rate at 15-30w.

If no, replace the rear speakers with good quality coaxials from Morel, JBL or any other reputed brand and then connect them to the amp, this will solve your problem, A good set of coaxial speakers will cost you anything between 3k-5k.

FE: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

So finally during today's TFTF Method my numbers went below 10 although it showed 10.5 Kmpl in Dashboard.

Seltos Monthly Numbers

Honda City Monthly Numbers

My usage to Home Office is consistent for both Seltos FL & City 5G and the routes are also same.
Yes DCT will drink more compared to CVT but in City traffic driving NA Engine is effortless.

Also I feel the FE has increased post the Software Update at least in city traffic or may be my car has slowly opened up and drives are much smoother now.
Do not miss my Brownie these days and getting addicted to this new toy

I typically travel with my family, and for their safety, I always drive with a light foot on highways, making sure not to exceed 100 km/h. I also avoid hard acceleration and sudden braking, which might be why I was getting such good mileage from my Seltos GTX+ 1.5T petrol before. I used to consistently achieve excellent fuel economy, with the MID often displaying figures as high as 19.7 km/l during long drives. However, since the ECM update, I have noticed a significant drop in fuel efficiency. Now, the MID never shows any figure above 16 km/l, regardless of any driving style. I've attached a screenshot of my Seltos MID from a previous long drive when the fuel economy was much better

Thanks for all the responses with the mileage details. I was driving Chennai-BLR-Chennai and there's a LOT of construction work + bad traffic. This is probably why my numbers are fairly low. I just did another BLR-Chennai run very early in the morning and got 17KMPL on the dash. So the update is not really impacting mileage numbers while improving engine performance in Eco mode.

Kia Seltos X-Line now available in Aurora Black Pearl colour

Kia has introduced a new 'Aurora Black Pearl' colour option for the Seltos X-Line. The SUV is also available in the Matte Graphite shade.

The Seltos X-Line in Aurora Black Pearl comes with gloss black exterior trim, matching front and rear skid plates, ORVMs, shark-fin antenna, tailgate garnish and faux exhaust. The X-Line variant rides on 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with Sun Orange centre caps. The orange accents can also be found on the skid plates and door garnish.

The Aurora Black Pearl exterior is complimented by a two-tone interior in a combination of Black and Splendid Sage Green. The seats along with the door and centre armrests are wrapped in Splendid Sage Green upholstery with Orange stitching. It also gets green speaker grilles, a black steering wheel with Orange stitching

The Kia Seltos X-Line is available with two engine options: a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and a 1.5-litre diesel that is offered with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Is that true? I don't see that in the attached images or anywhere on Kia's website. Would you be able to confirm?

Thank you.

Ya even I am surprised at the smattering of Sun orange outside and in, and the colour of the handrest etc etc, as I had booked the x line variant in aurora black for the stealth look only, as all other variants (except for silver) are unable to mask the copious amount of chrome. I don't want a shocking orange as well

Btw, you have booked the same variant right? Any leads on when are you getting the delivery? Any pictures your SA might have sent? (mine has been unable to source a single pic till now of the new Xline.)

Haha, I feel you. Don't want any unnecessary orange accents on an all black paint work. No nasty surprises please, Kia.

Likewise, no pictures/videos of the new variant. I have requested our SA to share them when they receive one for delivery/display. Nothing on YT or internet either which is very strange. Usually these new variants are all over almost immediately.

Good luck with your booking, please let us know if you come across anything new .
