Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

I got the Diesel ECM update done on my Seltos X line Diesel AT. The process takes around 25 min but overall it took around 1 hour with the time taken to open a job card and align a service guy to do the same.
Have driven the car only around 15kms after that. There is a slight improvement in engine noise but not much change in performance in D and S modes. Only in eco mode the initial performance is improved.

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

"Hi BHPians,

I am about to book my Seltos GTX+ in a day or two. Can anyone from Delhi confirm what the latest deal they have received from the Kia showroom, As of my last negotiations, I am getting a 2-year extended warranty and free insurance (with an additional cost of 18K). I am also expecting some freebie accessories, but they are not budging as of now.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!"

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

Also another point I missed in my previous post. I got the Adblue topped up in my Seltos Diesel as it was showing the level as 50%. The tank capacity is 12L and in 13700 kms of usage around 6L had been consumed.
The Kia service centre added 5 L adblue and I was charged around 440 Rs for the same.

The brand they use is IndianOil ClearBlue

I had just done my 10000 km service a few days ago. The regular service was done with the ECM update. The wheel alignment and oil was not charged. The only charge was for disinfecting the a/c which came to Rs.849/-. Other than that, there were no charges.

Re: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Review

Hello everyone. I just wanted to know that is the wiper washer fluid tank covered under manufacturing warranty?

I have a Seltos facelift that I bought last year and noticed the washer fluid tank was empty since the fluid didn't come out when I tried to clean the glass. I tried to fill it water and it started leaking. So apparantly it seems to have been broken from somewhere. Don't exactly know how this happened.

I called the dealership who said replacing the tank will be chargeable. But shouldn't that be covered under warrantty and done free of cost?

I called Kia customer care and they told me to connect to the same service manager who told me it will be chargeable, for details.

Thanks! Though I am looking to buy a new car and wanted to understand what the best deals available in the market are. If someone can provide any leads, it would be appreciated.

Don't know if this helps, but I've had rats chew through the windscreen washer fluid pipe twice now. Both times in the same spot. On both occasions, the SA replaced it for free when I took the car in for a service or update. The official part cost itself is ~11rs which was invoiced and discounted 100%.

I think these are ongoing standard offers on the Seltos. Depending on negotiation, you may also get a few free accessories. If interested, some dealers had 2023 stocks with attractive cash discounts until recently. Not sure if that's still available though.

I bought a DCT GTX+ last week and snagged a ₹10k discount by getting the SA to match another dealer's price. The 2-year unlimited kilometer extended warranty that was standard last month seems to be available in August too.

When buying comprehensive insurance, make sure it includes tire cover, RTI, key fob cover, consumables, rodent protection, and transmission and engine cover. Be sure to check the proposal before they lock it in.

Update on the issue as of 13th August,2024:
1. Jayanti Kia Service Station Okla Delhi and Kia Customer Care don't care and have stopped responding all together.
2. I am now seeing uneven rusting on the 4 Tyres. Enclosing below images after I came home from work and stayed at home for 2 hours. Car was stationary during this period and I am facing this heavily during rainy season now.

If you see here, this tyre had a minimal rust and is almost manageable

Please recommend what is the next best option as I expect no response from KIA. Kia as organization and Jayanti Kia as Dealer have pathetic service.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Review

Had a question on the Rear Speakers for Non-Bose (Arkamys perhaps) variants (HTX and Below):

Since the stock head unit wouldn't power the rear speakers as much as front, I got a Alpine 4 Channel amp installed, along with a SubWoofer. Even with this, the rear speakers hardly offers voice clarity in its output. Did others experience similar situation and would replacing the stock rear speakers with coaxials help?

Why do you say that the stock unit cannot drive the rear as much as the front as the drivers on the OE HU are the same for the front and the rear speakers unless you upgraded the front ones? Or are you saying that you have the front and the sub driven by the amp while the rear is direct from HU? The speakers on the lower end variants are generally bad.

On my ignis, I just upgraded the front and rear with Alpine SPG 17CS and I find them much better than Bose on my Creta. Some of the HUs may not be able to power them though. You can upgrade the front with components, driven by the the amp and rear with co-axials directly from the HU. The rear channel of the amp can be used for the sub in bridged mode.

I have the GTX+ model which has Bose speaker, so I am not sure if the settings are similar or different. In the sound settings, there is an option to increase/decrease the sound output to front/rear speakers. Check if the setting is at 0 or the middle level which gives an even output to front and rear speakers.

For cost-cutting reasons, Kia/Hyundai is providing 5.25" rear speaker/driver compared to a 6.5" front speaker/driver. This results in sub-standard sound quality, whether you’re using an amp or the stock system. This results in sub-par sound quality, regardless of whether you connect the speakers to an amplifier or connect to the stock setup. This issue is consistent across all variants, including those with Bose or Arkamys systems. My GTX+ variant faces the same problem. If you’re not satisfied with the sound quality, I recommend replacing the rear speakers with 6.5" coaxial drivers from either Infinity or DLS. This upgrade will noticeably improve the sound output.
