One of the reasons I bought the Jimny is because of the old tech and minus all the ADAS non sense as it just adds to lot of wirings and sensors which can go wrong in the long run.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Horrible Experience while dealing with Pasco NEXA, Gurgaon: My Jimny needed an alignment as it had run almost 10k and a couple of OTR sessions had taken a bit of toll. Since the Jimny is equipped with Steering Angle Sensor(SAS), I decided to take it to supposedly the best NEXA service in India since they would be well trained to do the job. Or so I thought.

Firstly the workshop manager was extremely rude, and said it would take them a day to conclude the alignment due to rush. When I decided to take the car out, he finally accommodated the car in, but I was in for more trauma.

Maruti Jimny Review-20241219_144232.jpg

The mechanic looked clueless and admitted that they aren't trained to work on Jimnys. Meanwhile, the SA comes in and says since my car has aftermarket tyres(215/75R15 Yokohama Geolandars), they cannot align it and also mentioned it on jobcard. Good job!

There was not a single Jimny at their service center which didn't have aftermarket tyres. When I pointed this out, the SA sheepishly says that Maruti has issued a circular prohibiting them to touch any Jimny's alignment. I knew this was pure BS but decided to let them go and get it aligned elsewhere.

Imagine, this drama unfolded at NEXA Gurgaon, which is less than a kilometer away from Maruti's Gurgaon Plant. My car is due for Kingpin, discs and brake shoe replacement and I'm not confident getting it touched in NCR.

Eventually my friend recommended Haryana Tyres Faridabad, and they did an awesome job. More on that in the relevant thread (Tyre Shop - Haryana Wheels (Faridabad)).

Glad that you finally found the right lift kit for your needs

During your research did you come across any source which has the part IDs for twin tube Dobinson?

All I could find is a generic ID for 4door kit listed here.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Guys, I have a rather peculiar query. I was not given a hard copy of the owner's manual when I purchased my Jimny. Instead the SA told me to download the soft copy of the owner's manual from internet/ Maruti Portal.

I find this very inconvenient. All my other vehicles, including 2 No two wheelers that I purchased in the last one year came with the fat owner's manual. The advantage of the hard copy of the manual is the ease with which one could jump to the necessary information in a flick of finger and also the service slips with date of service, made it easy to remember the dates. The trouble shooter guide also was easy to refer.

With the soft copy of the owner's manual, I find it cumbersome and inconvenient compared to the hard copy.

Anyways the dealer has not provided me any owner's manual and simply asked me to download it and get it over.

My question is, have you guys received a hard copy of the manual or asked to download the soft copy? How do you keep track of services and how to claim the warranty from a different dealer if you happen to be away from your hometown and some breakdown happens necessitating some repair and invoking the warranty?

I haven't installed the Maruti Suzuki App in my mobile yet. Thanks for your responses

Maruti does not give hardcopies of the Owner's manual for the Jimny. I downloaded it from the Nexa website. You can find it at https://www.nexaexperience.com/car-manual
I had it printed in Mangalore - as good as any other OEM manual - which I now store in the car.
The manual is not required for tracking services or claiming warranty. Maruti tracks it on their customer service system and they can access the information at any of their authorized service stations.

Thanks for your quick response. Where at Mangalore did you get the manual printed? Could you please share the address and contact number? I am driving down to Mangalore in the coming week and hope to get a printed copy during my visit..

I find this convenient. Placed the order for a hard copy of the Maruti Jimny owner's manual.

The manual is priced at Rs 520.
Boodmo charges an additional Rs 95 for handling and platform usage (don't know what that means) charges.
Total came to Rs 615.

Thanks for pointing me to the right direction.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has officially handed over 60 Jimny SUVs to the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), marking the first-ever induction of the Jimny into the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

These vehicles will be deployed in challenging high-altitude terrains of Leh-Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh, supporting ITBP personnel in border patrolling and troop movement. The handover ceremony took place at the ITBP Headquarters in New Delhi.

You're probably better off getting one printed by a local place, or get one printed by printster.in by submitting the PDF. Reliable and quick, two things boodmo aren't. I'd ordered from boodmo to begin with, but they gave me a month-long ETA which they then kept shifting by a week without explanation.

Cancelled and ordered with printster on someone's recommendation on this thread. Delivered in a week.

I recently ordered another for someone else in interior Bihar. Ordered on Jan 30, shipped on Feb 4 via Bluedart Surface and should be delivered shortly.

Thanks for your cautionary post, I cancelled my order with Boodmo. Now, awaiting my refund which should be completed in a few days.

I have a very good friend who owns a printing press in Mangalore. Will reach out to him and get the needful done.
