It looks like some major bodywork will be required for the JB64 look, especially around the rear fender area.

An easy fix will be if some vendor comes out with a simple wheel arch cladding which can be painted body colour to get the fender less look

What perceptible difference does it provide.
Since December 2023. Till now it has survived the monsoons of West Bengal & washes during servicing.

I have not instrumented the bonnet area to record dB levels or under-bonnet temperatures, before and after the installation, so from a "data-point" perspective I will not be able to comment.
From a subjective perspective: it is very difficult to "make out" or "feel" an improvement with / without the under-bonnet insulation.

Thanks for the contact. I got 50% off on all my accessories as package.

Hi Vulken. My roof crackles too. It's a black roof. I was driving in the sun with the AC went directed towards it. I then came to a stop sitting under the tree with the AC on for about another 10 mins. I then switched off the AC and then within half a min or so the crackling began. I then turned on the AC with the vent directed towards it and it stopped, switched it off and then it came back for a bit. .
For me the roof crackles in sun or when its hot. It sounds like rain drops falling on the roof.

Got myself a printed User Manual, from printster.
Was planning to get it in A5 size, but felt B5 size offers better readability, being bigger in size.

Can you share 387 Page manual if you don't mind. What's the discount code you got on your first purchase?

Feed back on my Jimny After 13days, 85kms.
1)Black car is a pain to maintain. But I prefer Jimny in black and I'm enjoying the pain to maintain it.
2) Its returning 13kmpl in stop Go , 11kmpl in bumper to bumper , 8 Kmpl for very shorts distance commutes. I am yet to drive on a highway. Front Tire 31psi and back tire 30Psi.
3)Automatic Gear Box is easy to drive and the engine is very refined under 60kmph.
4)Roof crackles in sun , Back wheels thud over speed breakers and you need to get used to its turning radius.
5)Please note the car can easily climb curbs and surprise or scare the pedestrians. Its just not a hatchback as it looks.
6)I underwent mixed feelings driving this car/Jeep/CSUV what ever. it just gives me goosebumps when ever I look at it.
OverAll its a very good effort by suzuki to design a modernised version of Gypsy and I love It.

Installed it properly. Took some effort to remove the clips. I was hoping not to break any clips while removing, but dropped one screw into engine bay when reinstalling.

I am not good at sound engineering, but definitely there will be reduction in sound as there is something in-between . Felt my Jimny's engine sound was less heard from within the cabin for sure.

@fiat_tarun,
Thanks for your inputs. I have ordered the roof-bar base stay from amazon-japan. They don't ship cross bars to India. So have to find suitable cross bars for them. Will update once I get them in hand.
Quoting my previous reply for ease of traceability.

Ordered quite a few accessories from Amazon japan. Got them delivered in less than a week by DHL. Wil create a separate post on all the accessories I got.

The roof cross bar stay I ordered is specific to Inno roof boxes. Unfortunately they don't ship the bars. Now I have to hunt for square bars which will fit into the base stay peoperly. I tried my luck at JC road today. One shop guy made me wait for 30 mins and said it is not available today, but can get tomorrow.

I hate the intimidating nature of car accessories shop guys around JC road. You just drive by and they start knocking windows and start asking what you want. Few just jump in front of your car asking you what is needed. But when you really ask for what is needed, they disappear .

If I don't find quality bars, then will try to get it fabricated and powder coated in black. Its fun when you go the DIY route though its painful most of the times.

Between, the quality of base stay is amazing. Couple of pics for reference. Wil update once I install fully on jimny.

I tried using my debit card with international usage enabled. But it got rejected by amazon. Then used my friends visa credit card. It worked.

Just make sure you have address proof for shipping address for DHL KYC purposes.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Yesterday we found ourselves going all the way up to Kanatal on a whim, to drop in on a good friend of my late father, who has retired to his apple orchard at 7900 feet. The three and a half hour drive up, via empty backroads, had the Jimny in its element bounding along some horrible broken roads, with landslides galore and innumerable blind corners. I think we averaged 25 km/h and 8 kmpl over the course of the onward journey, and climbed about 5000 feet. The Jimny made a miserable slog feel like fun as the suspension soaked it all up with aplomb and encounters with oncoming Bolero Campers were despatched with two wheels on the shoulder. The LED headlamps and stock fog lamps were not the best for the patches of dense fog we encountered, but not too bad either.

Our original plan had been to return via Dhanaulti and Mussoorie but our host pointed at the gathering fog and strongly advised against risking this famously exposed road in the dark, since it runs along a ridge and is regularly beset with fog, hail and worse. So we found ourselves taking the long way back on the extra wide Char Dham “racing track” road that runs down to Rishikesh via Narender Nagar. Here the Jimny was a very boring companion. The truth is that even a well-shod hatchback, like my old Punto, feels limiting on a road this good - you never have enough grip for the endless succession of fast, wide, downhill corners and are left wishing for a sporty sedan with suitable rubber. We also noticed that the gearbox was “hunting” a bit on some of the uphill sections on this road. Sharing some photos of the critters and views along the way.

Adding to the above mileage figures . I did a 800kms highway trip, car returned 21.7 kmpl & 17.9kmpl to and from to my town. 90% Highway, 10% heavy traffic. Car dynamics are outstanding, no whine from transfer case, over taking was predictable after 100km of driving Maintained speed at 70-80kmph, Used cruise control button as a joystick.Car odo stands at 920kms.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Wanted to know what pressure (in Psi) are you guys running on the stock tyre? On the inside of the driver door, the numbers if I remember correctly were 26 Psi on all tires for a single passenger and 26 Psi front and 28 Psi back if fully loaded. I found the car with 45 Psi on all tires from the showroom!

I think i mentioned 30psi at back and 31 psi at front on stock Tires. I maintain a little higher psi for highway runs even on my crysta and creta

Thats probably the highest mileage I have seen anywhere on a Jimny. I gotta ask, how much of the drive was downhill and what was your average speed? because I barely manage to 14.5 - 15 kmpl when cruising at 90-100 on plains.

I maintain 28psi for all tyres as I do have 2-3 people in the car sometimes.
Showrooms are known to notoriously deliver cars with stupidly high tyre pressures, mine was delivered with 38psi.

Trip was from Hyderabad (500 m above sea) to Vijayawada(50m above sea) and back, Around 400kms each way including city runs. The first 3 pictures from 7am to 8am was on ORR, Plain surface returned 19.1 Kmpl.I was getting used to the revband in this first hr. Average of this trip was around 20kmpl, average speed was 60kmph for this trip. Mine is an automatic, due to the heavy 4wd setup momentum of car will decrease rapidly when you leave the accelerator just like regen braking in EV. i never faced any overtaking problem as I was aware of the revband precisely. Instead of pedals I used cruise control buttons for acceleration and braking, it was fun just like videogames. When you use the pedals, gears wont shift down rapidly, but when you use the cruise control up/down Gear shifts happen at 3000rpm.
