Where did you install the grille? And please share photos.
Good to hear that and soon welcome to the Jimny group.

I bought the grill from Rohit of "The Guys Store" from Delhi. A descent one, but not to the paint quality of the OEM (comparatively). There are videos on how to fix it, simple stuff and hence I did it on my own.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Had ordered hood insulation from Amazon Japan. Received it yesterday through DHL. It was 5 mins job to install it using the clips provided.

I think you have installed it the wrong way around. The shiny side faces the engine for heat reflection. Also the grooves on the matte side suggests of the installation towards the bonnet metal side. The grooves on the insulation material will perfectly line up with the metal frame work of the bonnet underside.

That was a bummer from me. Thanks for pointing it out.
Since my other car had black material facing outwards, installed this too same way. Will install it correctly.

Maruti should have provided bonnet insulation from the factory actually.
Please do update about the difference you experience after the installation

Totally agree. When they are giving 6 airbags and other advance features, shouldn't have skimped on small thins like this. Infact, this hood insulator is expensive than the one I installed for Grand Vitara 2.0 through MASS. costed 6.5k. This one is 7k+.

Is there a noticeable difference? I find the Jimny engine to be quite refined, its the propeller shaft/drivetrain that makes the noise.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Eventually, after more than 6000 Kms on ODO, I installed EVCX on Jimny. Many people suggest that it is just a pedal modulator but I notice that is not so, and I can especially notice that having driven the stock vehicle significantly.

It definitely allows to accelerate faster from zero. What I mean to say is that if I press the pedal to metal without EVCX, and then use EVCX same approach, the initial acceleration is faster with EVCX.

This means, it probably allows opening of throttle faster, and does what it says - may be changes the map and holds the gears somewhat longer!

I have come to like Adapt mode that uses the Ultimate mode 1 to 9 depending on how fast you push the pedal.
It doesn't impact fuel efficiency much but allows accelerating on a tap. If you can learn how to use pedal, might even increase the fuel efficiency a bit.

In my case, I am enjoying that quick acceleration and there is an approx. decrease of 0.5Km/L in efficiency.
Other modes such as Anti-Theft, Economy, Anti Slip, are great practical add-ons as well.

I am not using the screen part - just control via app directly. Very simple DIY and hidden super-power, just the way I like. Overall, for me, this is money well spent

Shouldn't the silver side be facing towards the engine?

It should be this way. Be careful when re-opening the pop rivets. They are notoriously fragile and prone to snapping off.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Has anyone attempted to achieve the JB64 look on their five-door Jimny by removing the plastic fenders?

I love how these Kei cars look; the bumper is also narrower. Not sure how the streched five door will look without the fenders.

This video has a glimpse of it. Watch from 4:14 onwards:

It looks like some major bodywork will be required for the JB64 look, especially around the rear fender area.

Since how long have you been using the hood insulator?
Hope it does not get damaged if it gets wet during servicing.
What perceptible difference does it provide.
