Kindly share your friend's feedback on the Koni shocks + H&R springs with 20 mm lift setup (that's the combination that's shown on MotoPoto website)

How does it compare with the stock suspension on

1) High speed cornering, handling and stability
2) low speed comfort and ride quality
3) gravel/broken roads ride
4) off road performance

Also, are the shocks adjustable? Does the vehicle have to be lifted on a lift for shock adjustment?

Thanks in advance.

A dozen missed calls the whole day with emails sent yesterday and today and - No Response. FARAD India is the most pathetic seller I have seen online. I guess he misplaced his phone in the gutters of Mumbai somewhere… such a small order and so much pain! Buyers - Beware making any purchase from this seller… first he doesn’t know to ship the correct parts for the Jimny, then this!

Can anyone enlighten us about how the windbooster helps? Does it work like a Diesel Tuning Box or is it a ECU that increases the power/torque ?

Yes I think what you have been delivered is for THAR. If you drop a message to Kalpesh he will most certainly respond and get the wrong one picked up and the right one delivered. His lack of response should be a one off as I have found him to be very responsive in the past. Do let us know how it plays out. The community will most certainly benefit from such feedback.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Thanks to some pointers here, I ordered the floor storage tray and arm rest from Amazon Japan.

Got both for ~10k INR including shipping and duty and in 5 days! The local sellers were selling just the arm rest at ~11k INR. Super happy with the quality of the products as well, especially the floor tray which is made entirely out of soft rubber unlike the hard plastic one's being sold by local sellers.

Attached below where all to attach the hooks dear.

All kinds of hooks can be attached at these points using M6 bolts.

Been using the windbooster now for 2 weeks and that too inside the city only. Vehicle seems to more peppy and builds speed pretty quickly. It does not increase the power or the torque. It only increases the throttle response. Modern day car accelerators use electrical signals to control the engine RPM. Throttle controllers like windbooster, GTE tuning etc control the sensitivity of the accelerator pedal. Maximum power & torque of Maruti Jimny is 103.39bhp@6000rpm & 134.2nm@4000rpm. It means that maximum power and torque can be attained only at 6000rpm and 4000rpm respectively. Throttle controllers aid the process of attaining the power and torque quickly and repeatedly.
There has been enough debate about the supposed placebo effect of "throttle controllers" in general and has been discussed to death even on this forum...
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modif...-response.html (PedalTune: Customisable throttle response)

Iam very much happy with the Jimny post the windbooster. The way I see it, when we can spend 17 lacs on a Jimny, spending another 17000 isn't really going to hurt us more

100% true. The way the Jimny performs in this power band is a revelation. Only downside is the mileage which goes south real fast. Can you share the mileage displayed in these speeds?

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

I’ve tested driven the Jimny thoroughly and have fallen in love with it. It’s the manual for me.
One problem though was -
The super short seat squab of the rear bench - has anyone tried fiddling with a longer base.

Also has anyone got a tuned Jimny?

Thanks Neil for enlightening me on the windbooster. Will surely give it a thought.

Suzuki Jimny shatters bizarre world record.

Almost 800 pint-sized Suzuki Jimny off-roaders gathered in South Africa for a unique world record attempt.

While they were at it, they could have used the time more judiciously, like setting the following world records:

1) Switching off Headlights Simultaneously (S)
2) Right Indicator On S
3) Right Indicator off S
4) Left Indicator On S
5) Left Indicator Off S
6) Putting car in O/D off mode S - Difficult to break this one
7) Putting Car in First Gear/L mode S
8) Move ahead 1 meter S
9) Move Back 1 Meter S
10) Not to miss - Putting in 4H and revving S / Putting in 4L and revving S/ Then putting back to normal mode and revving S
11) And Many more!

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

One of the 'Do it yourself' hack many people have been asking me for.

Q)How to fit the rear defrost wire cap over the rear sunshade?

A)Simply use small Neodymium magnets on the provided double tapeas shown in picture and the problem is solved.
This will also make it removable when needed for easy cleaning.

With this throttling at initial stage has gone & pick up much better. Also overall engine running has become quite smooth. Even the fuel efficiency has improved.

Would like to thank you for this. Got these fitted today and my power related issues are sorted. The engine idles steady, revs freely and feels unshackeld in many ways. Thanks once again.

I've had a chance to drive the car myself so will answer your questions.

How does it compare with the stock suspension on

1) High speed cornering, handling and stability - Much better than stock, it rides very flat and high speed stability and handling on tarmac is excellent
2) low speed comfort and ride quality - Great on tarmac, lesser wallowing so that results in better ride comfort
3) gravel/broken roads ride - A bit too stiff in my opinion, we are planning to adjust the dampers and check. Will update here once had a chance to do that
4) off road performance - Friend is happy with it. No trouble with damping performance but I prefer my stock Alpha ride quality. I do feel there was a downside because he was using steelies with 225 and mine has alloys with 215 section tires

Also, are the shocks adjustable? Does the vehicle have to be lifted on a lift for shock adjustment?

Yes they are adjustable but you need to remove them and twist the upper part to adjust it. So they need to be taken off the car for the same cant be done on the fly.
