I got my grill from a reference posted here. Quoting my earlier post with the details. The grill was shipped from Delhi on the same day I placed the order and made the payment and it reached Pune about 4-5 days later in good condition. The same vendor has a lot of accesories for the Jimny, so reach out and you can get all the details.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

Observed an issue with my brand new Jimny - AC condensation water dripping into the passenger footwell. Will visit the service centre today to get it checked, hopefully is an easy fix and doesn't require removal of the dash.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

As has already been discussed the Jimny is not a performer and wronging it's metal neck simply produces a lot of noise and no corresponding poke. However if you drive it within its limits and use it's torque appropriately it can deliver a good mileage.

Maruti Jimny Review-polish_20230915_101106627.jpg

The approach I've felt is to use shift quickly, and not hold the lower gears. The powertrain is very comfortable in 4th at 40kmph so i usually shift up accordingly rarely revving it beyond 2000 rpm. Once past 4th I am usually comfortable using 4th and 5th gear for overtaking often just downshifting from 5th to 4th for overtaking. I have achieved the above mileage on a 2 lane highway in Kerala during the daytime..and did make good time to my destination as well.

Drive on,
Shibu

Searching left, right and center for the throttle controller. Guys know anyone who has Jimny Throttle controllers available in India with immediate delivery. I have clocked 5000 kms so far and the most of them on the highway. The lag in acceleration is now becoming very annoying not to mention the abysmal mileage owing to driving with a heavy foot to overcompensate for the poor pick up.

Where did you get the Bilstein shocks from? Did you install just the dampers or springs as well? Please share details and the price for the suspension upgrade.

What benefits do you perceive after this upgrade?

My main issues are the side to side movement which causes fatigue and right shoulder pain. At high speeds, on bad roads, the rear gets thrown up with the rebound from the stock dampers.

Eagerly waiting to hear from you. I am not too keen on a lift but looking for better ride quality without spending a bomb.

I just saw some one has installed "Pedal Commander" in his Jimny, in one of the youtube review.
Could not find the device specific to Jimny in their website but there is one for XL7 which has the same engine. Link: https://pedalcommander.com/products/...05311019&_ss=r

I have booked Jimny shocks from Dr.Nano suspension. Costs Rs.25000/- for all 4 shocks. Once I install it, I'll update on the forum. I have used Nano suspension for my Old gen Thar and the ride quality was way better than OE. Fingers crossed that it works for Jimny too.

I have installed Ultimate 9 EVCX. It really does what it is supposed to...the throttle lag in the Jimny has vanished ...before installing the EVCX while climbing some flyovers I sometimes wanted to jump off and push the Jimny up in pure frustration.

Now it feels like a proper responsive vehicle with EVCX delivering 8 Driving modes with 32 levels of adjustability and a responsive app where you can change modes on the fly - works well in IOS ....I think this is the first addition you should do in case you feel the Jimny lacks power.

The reviews of Ultimate 9 were very good and is also very popular in Australia in the 4X4 segment. I absolutely love the product.

Ajitsingh Tapvasi is the distributor for Ultimate9 in India and his contact number is : 99307 77800‬. He would most certainly have stock available.

Hi Shiv, will this ultimate9 will work for 2012 i10 auto. I too have my frustrations with the engine and autobox integration.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review

In the last 800kms of driving I never felt the Jimny lacks power. It’s all about anticipating and downshifting gears early for me - when I forget to or get absent minded maybe it may feel like that momentarily.

On another note - I am experiencing a walloping thud from the rear suspension when my Jimny jumps over high speed breakers or deep ditches. Is this normal? I tried removing the toolbox at the rear but it wasn’t that. Plan to take it to the service center post lunch today for a suspension checkup.

Update - it was thankfully just a partially clogged drain pipe and all is well. Mycar in Wakad Pune were quick to diagnose and fix it, although the service centre was chaotic with cars everywhere and not enough space.

This is normal. The rear springs are simply overwhelmed at higher than cruising speeds. I am really hoping better damping can address this.

The thud could be from the floorboard at the rear and the jack underneath. Anything in the back of the Jimny will go airborne in these conditions.

My Hyryder-owning better half complained about exactly this as we drove the Jimny from Delhi to Dehradun this morning. Also complained about being tossed about like a rag doll, the one time the car exhibited the BoF-characteristic side to side movement over a huge pothole.

There is also a bobbing motion at speed when taking fast sweepers with poor surfacing

Hi Nikhil, Ultimate 9 does have a product for the i10. You could call Ajit and check for stock availability. They can get it if it is not in stock.

Was facing similar issues and therefore bit the bullet and got ToughDog Suspension Kit installed yesterday (40 mm lift). Have driven the vehicle for more than 100 kms since yesterday.

My observations : The thud sound from the back has gone when going over speed humps. potholes are now a breeze to cross, the vehicle sticks to tar on high speeds and there is marked improvement over stock. The jarring ride on rough roads has become smoother.

Will be posting the installation and a detailed review soon. Hope this helps.
