Can you please check if the final output will look like the images below? And can they paint the bezels to match the bumper color as in the pictures? If so, not that bad, isn't it?

Yes it looks like this. But, the caveat is the official FL as listed accessory comes in black colour only. I don't think the dealer will take the pain of painting the bezel matching the body colour. Imagine the same in black frame. It didn't look good to me. Also, no need to mention, like any OEM FL, the light output is better not to be counted for.

Then the best expensive alternate is an OCTOQ LED PROJECTOR upgrade.

Forget electric warranty for a safe highway night-drive.

Re: Maruti Fronx Review

Got delivery of my Fronx Zeta Turbo AT today!

Need for an automatic car was being felt for quite some time as heavy and haphazard traffic of Pune was making my life miserable. I got married last year so bike was not an option on many occasions. Due to this, I had to let go of my 10 year old Duster AWD in the interest of daily convenience. Heavy steering of Duster and constant shifting between first 3 gears due to gearing being short was getting too cumbersome at city speeds.

Enquired at 3 different Nexa dealerships here in Pune, Mahalaxmi Nexa had this one in stock (Mar'25 manufacturing) and gave me minimum quotation out of all 3. Quoted price included velocity kit which includes dashcam and window visers as well along with other styling elements all around.

Thank you @vvs29 for promptly answering my DMs and helping with my decision.

Will try to post a detailed review post 1000 kms.

Re: Maruti Fronx Review

Since last few weeks I was noticing some wierd sound in the rear on rough roads. Could not locate the exact issue and rear passengers were tired of me asking them to check the source of the sound. Just now on a whim checked the underbody and found oil leaking from the rear right strut. I am leaving to Calicut from Bangalore tomorrow early morning. Has someone else faced this issue? Is it safe to drive? Requesting advice from the members here.

Common issue; can happens to all cars. Don't worry, go ahead with the drive; just be careful while negotiating speed breakers and potholes. As soon as you get some time, do change the struts. I say struts because it is generally considered good practice to change them in pairs, even when only one is found to be failing.

Thanks for the quick response! Will get the pair changed soon after the trip. Hope at least one of them will be covered under warranty as the car is just 8 months old and less than 8000km run.

Re: Maruti Fronx Review

Hey Guys! For those who own a Fronx without an armrest, I just found a good one and even order myself and fixed it in my Fronx. Its an attachable armrest for just INR 899 (including shipping charges).

Check this out:

Re: Maruti Fronx Review

Maruti has started making 6 air bags as standard in it's ARENA models - Alto, Celerio, Wagon R, EECO. Dezire and Swift were launched with 6 air bags as standard. Why is Maruti ignoring Baleno and Fronx for 6 air bags as standard ?

The Baleno is expected to get an update/facelift soon, which could be a probable reason why the current model hasn't received 6 airbags yet. The same could be true for the Fronx as well. Moreover, these are already best-selling models (not that Wagon-R, Dzire and Swift are not), but it makes more sense to introduce 6 airbags with the facelift.

Re: Maruti Fronx Review

Drove the turbo-AT today.
While the engine has good performance and the AT is quite competent it somehow didn't feel right. I cannot pinpoint what was it but seemed like the engine and gearbox weren't on the same page in the low rpm regime. But on empty roads and accelerating away this was quick.

Drove the Baleno 1.2 AGS after that and the powertrain felt so much better!
This left me surprised as I had gone "pre-programmed" for the head nods with my previous experience with the Nexon but this car felt better than the turbo-AT in city roads!
I honestly liked the system, the M mode downshifts on its own, upshifts are in your control and the D mode was good enough for everyday use.
The Fronx had done 27k kms and the Baleno was 45k kms old.
Goes without saying that this discussion about AGS is limited to the experience in the Fronx-Baleno only.

And here I ask fellow members, do you share the experience or am I missing something here ?

Congrats, you chose my favorite color too
Anything that I should look out for or any quirks that you experienced till now ?

Congrats
Did you test drive the AGS and if yes any issues that you faced during the TD ?
I am currently based out of Pune and the TD vehicles had come from Mahalaxmi Magarpatta. Also saw the fog lights fitted to a Fronx Zeta in the showroom, they looked fine in case you're interested.

Thanks!
I didn't take a TD of Fronx AGS particularly as it wasn't available but I did TD Exter AMT and Fronx AT two days apart on same 10-15km route and in similar traffic conditions. I don't think Maruti's AMT would be too different from Hyundai's AMT so I think I can attempt to clear your confusion.

About Exter AMT, head-nods were almost negligible in D mode on light throttle inputs but what put me off was the noticeable break in torque delivery during gear changes on medium throttle inputs even if I chose to shift gears using paddle shifters. My driving is neither too laid back nor too aggressive and this is where AMT caught me out especially when I was NOT paying attention to predicting gear-shifts. I do like to push when I get an open patch so tried the same during TD and that's where I could notice the weak points of an AMT. Don't get me wrong, I would still say for 70% of my use case, Exter AMT especially with paddle shifters would have done the job perfectly.

Coming to Fronx AT, I did notice this peculiar behaviour of transmission being in higher gear below 2000 rpm in D mode but when using paddle shifters to downshift, the experience and shift quality is much more premium than in AMT. Even in D mode if I find the transmission sitting at a higher gear, I just need to push the throttle a bit more where it would either accelerate better in the same gear OR would downshift and do the needful. This automatic downshift is noticeable and gives a bit of kick as compared to a head-nod that an AMT would give. On the open patch, I tried to push the fronx AT during TD and this is where the deal got pretty much sealed. This engine has a strong mid-range and take no time to go beyond 80 kph. Coming from a diesel, it was thoroughly reassuring to see such torque delivery from a petrol engine, hence my decision to go with a Turbo AT combination.

Apart from driving point of view, Turbo Zeta is a well loaded variant with 6 airbags, Suzuki connect, rear washer wiper and TFT color MID to name a few. Will definitely check out those foglamps as it should be a good addition.

- Turbo Zeta is a well loaded variant
- I agree and I presume that's due to the time the actuator takes to clutch in and out, that's the limitation of this design.
- Second that, and possibly that's how they're achieving the relatively high FE numbers. The experience is always better in the AT. Magneti-Marelli, who make Maruti's(and possibly other OEM's too) AGS units put it aptly when they call it a robotized gearbox.
- I feel that too but most of my driving will be in the city and I liked the brisk response of 1.2 more. Maybe because coming from high revving motorcycles I have a preference for it. That being said, given the traffic, I didn't get a chance to test 1.2 on a longer route.
- To me that's the biggest disadvantage. Had there been a 1.2 Zeta, I would've been sharing the ownership experience. I've talked to the guys about installing the height adjustable driver seat which seems doable but but the driver armrest(with rear vents) and rear wiper are not an option they can add in the Delta+(O).

BTW, what FE are you getting in city?
The turbo was showing 8.3kmpl when it arrived and stayed there throughout the TD. The 1.2 came with a 7.1 kmpl readout since the car was left idling with AC on for a prolonged time during a previous demo and it had climbed to 10.1kmpl when I concluded the TD.

Honestly the whole idea of looking into MSIL came because I wanted to drive/own the K12 series.
With all these thoughts in mind, I even played with the idea of getting a Baleno Zeta/Alpha but the Fronx's design, stance and the noticeably better suspension ruled it out.

I have a Fronx 1.2 MT's TD pending, will see how that pans out and will decide post that.
