All maps have all access and they work absolutely fine on the phone. Things go haywire only when carplay is connected

I raised a complaint at the workshop, and they took pictures and videos and assured me that the replacement would be covered under warranty. They said it would take 8-10 days for the steering to arrive from Mobis.

Guys, whats the feedback with wireless carplay/andorid auto kits like carlinkit or ottocast? Is there a delay and reduction in sound quality? I do not see current gen of Hyundais 10.25 inch will get the wireless connectivity.

I'm using the one from MSXTTLY (AA + Carplay) since August. Got it for 5k during a sale on Amazon. It's pretty small in size (like a pen drive) and works seamlessly. Very quick in connecting the mobile to the car.
Only once it got stuck and I had to remove the device and connect it again to the usb port.

Found no difference in the sound quality, but I'm not an audiophile.

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna Review

Yesterday, while driving with my pregnant wife, I encountered a strange issue. A “check lane assist” warning popped up, and the steering wheel locked up. Fortunately, I was driving at a low speed. I had to turn the car off and back on to unlock the steering, which seemed to fix it. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

I have seen check lane assist come up quite frequently during my highway drives, but this steering locking is unheard.

The only explanation for this is that something is obstructing the lane-watch camera. Do you have a dashcam or a fastag stuck just below the camera? Or something on your dashboard directly below the camera which may cause a reflection? Like an idol or beads? These can sometimes cause reflections, which might confuse the camera. Or maybe a dead bug on the windshield?

I don’t have any beads or idols on the dashboard. Not sure about bugs or reflections though. But still, how could something like this end up locking the steering? If I was at a higher speed, it could’ve been a much more serious situation.

The only time I have ever had this happen was in a very old car where the key popped out when going over a very bumpy road.

I cannot even imagine such a scary thing happening in a car with no "key" behaving this way. Thank goodness nothing untoward happened.

Please get the service center to check every thing related to the steering wheel so nothing like this ever happens again.

-----------------------------------

Yesterday I had to go "shopping" with family on some of the most congested roads of the Hyderabad.
The car was NOT stationery at any point of time.

Thanks to the DCT, there was no tension when driving except of course the fear of some scratch or two. Luckily nothing like that happened.

But I got on record my worst mileage ever.

But this low mileage is a one-off. Most times I get at least 11 kmpl with my office runs of (38kms eevryday) easily being around 14+ kmpl.

I'm using carlinkit and wrote a detailed review here: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offic...ml#post5750702 (2023 Hyundai Verna Review)

It works seamlessly and sound quality is actually better than wired android auto. There is no lag also.

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna Review

For past few weeks, I’m hearing a squealing sound at creeping speed. Unable to figure out the source/tyre yet.
It is audible only in less noisy areas, such as a closed parking space and with windows rolled down.

Any clue what might be causing it?

Something touching the tires or rim?

Maybe take car to a puncture guy who has those big jacks that lift a car wheel up in a minute. Then spin the wheel and check.

I had something happen many years ago on a different car.

You can do this at home using the jack but it will be a lil painful lifting up each wheel, one at a time.

How many KMs have you done? I had to get one of my disks replaced at around 19k, which was very strange. In my case, the squeeking sound was of the worn out of disk.

Around 10.3K. If I too have to replace my discs, that'd be very very unusual. Will try to get it checked over the weekend.

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna Review

Hello all, need some feedback on my experience on the test drive with Verna.

I went to the showroom yesterday for the test drive of the NA variant but they had the Turbo one so I thought why not. I have liked the airy space in the NA with its lighter color. I drive the car around 10-11 km, liked the Turbo engine and it's feedback. Liked the suspension as well while sitting in the back.

The only thing that put me off was the steering wheel. Not the design but how extra light it felt. To me it felt like it's not even connected to the shaft and is floating mid air. Is it something that you become accustomed to over the period or you just ignore it as long as car works fine?

Currently I own a Ford Freestyle and the steering in that is so precise even after clocking 92K km. I also recently drove my friend's 5th gen Honda City and it's steering felt also ok. The Verna's steering felt odd to me. I had Grand i10 back in 2014-17 and what I remember is that the steering on that was similar, although back then it was the only car I had ever driven.
