Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna Review

Has anyone installed any auxiliary lights in the new Verna? or Fog lights? If not, has anyone planned to install something as such? please share some info. Headlight is not adequate for highways/rainy/foggy conditions.

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna Review

Does anybody know how the auto-high beam assist works? I've noticed zero difference in the beam intensity when there is on-coming traffic.

I don't think beam intensity is changed. High beam is enabled automatically and disabled automatically. Check the attachments which explain about the same in the manual. Hope this helps.

This was very useful. Tried it out last night and it works brilliantly. What doesn't help is the fact that you can't see anything with the low beams on hahaha.

Yes, I am planning to install fog lamps may be in another 1-2 months. I desperately needed better lights.

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna Review

Hi folks,

I made my first long journey with V_Nyx(my night Goddess ). It was a 1000 km round trip, and the trip was awesome. Many of the points may have been already shared by other fellow members, but I am sharing just my observation.

Pros :

1) AC was pretty good for me as I travelled alone.
2) Ventilated seats are a boon for the hot weather
3) The car is stable at triple-digit speed on the highways (LKA - Lane Keep Assist disabled), but it is different when LKA is enabled (more on that later).
4) Definitely a head-turner (even a few luxury car owners )
5) The car is so fast. Since the power delivery is so linear, the car doesn't feel like it is that quick to 100. There was a guy in a Volvo (I guess it is XC 40) who was in the middle of the road and steering the car left and right (shaking it so badly), which is when I unleashed the Sports mode
6) Speakers are fine for the front seats (no complaints there)
7) LKA combined with SCC (Smart Cruise Control) is a fantastic combination if you need to relax a bit.

Cons :

1) Lane Keep Assist when enabled, and if you speed up and forget to disable it, the handling takes a toll and becomes a messed up feature.
2) Brakes are not confidence-inspiring despite the fact that the car has four disc brakes.
3) Wipers are bad, and so I have changed to frameless.

I didn't find anything else.

Looks striking in all black!

Few questions-

How good is the FE if you cruise at 90 KPH in 7th gear on DCT?
How has your experience of using auto hold been? Is it too jerky?
How good/bad are the headlamps?

FE stood at 17 or more if I maintain a constant speed between 90 - 110 but when speed increases it drops. Average was 16.3 for me in the ODO.

Auto hold is not jerky but auto start stop has been jerky at times (in bumper to bumper traffic)

Low beams are so poor that you can't see anything if it rains / if it is foggy. High beams are acceptable but not so great.

Looking for a car for dad, who is a little sedate driver. I guess at constant 90 KPH it might even cross 19 Kmpl? How is the mileage in moderate city traffic?

I also read that Verna gets cornering lamps. Are they really useful, or just some feature you can live without?

Mileage will be at 12-13 for moderate traffic and sedate driving. Yes, Cornering lamps are useful at turns. I haven't driven a vehicle without it and so I cannot comment if it is really useful unless I know how it is without one.

On our recent Tbhp meet Wayanad trip, got 20+ kmpl cruising at 100kmph on the Mysore-Bangalore expressway.
Find the cornering lights very helpful. I have a SX DCT as I didn't want ADAS.
Hope this clarifies.

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna Review

A quick question to all owners, my wife has shortlisted Verna as a probable candidate to buy, along with Astor.

While I did not notice it in Verna, the other cars I went along for the TD's, there seems to be the irritating beeps for rear seat belts even when no one is sitting there.
I knew it was a bug in the Maruti's, didnt expect MG to have the same behaviour as well.

Can any owner confirm if this is not how Verna works?

We are looking the the SX(O) version, DCT

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna Review

My Verna 2023 SX IVT 2023 has sensors for front & all 3 rear seats. The alarm will only beep if the sensors sense some weight (either a person or a reasonably heavy bag can trigger it)

Maruti being Maruti skimped on weight sensors. Pennywise Pound foolish move. Didn't expect MG to follow them.
