Re: Toyota Hilux Review

Hi Team,

Can anyone pls help me with these 2 queries.

1. I want to be able to see the AdBlue fluid level in my Fortuner 2024 like in the Hilux MID. Since everything is mechanically the same, I'm hoping it's a software hurdle I have to jump, is this achievable through techstream? if not, does anyone know how?

2. I want to change the Head unit of my car and want to be able to retain the song/track info in the MID, has anyone had luck with this?

Re: Toyota Hilux Review

A dealer in Kerala has given 10L discount for a Aug vehicle. Should I go for it, or is it better to wait till Jan & hunt for an Year out vehicle?

I thought 13 is the minimum people are getting. Did you try any of the agents who get them for you? Most of them post ads on Facebook and Instagram.

Check out the Toyota Hilux India Facebook group and Big Guns Auto Instagram page. You should definitely not settle for anything less than 13L discount.

Re: Toyota Hilux Review

Saini Toyota organized an off-road event in Kolkata where we could experience the Hilux on a curated track. The track was made by our good friend Hero Sen.

Hero invited me to the event a couple of days back.

The car provided to me was a Hilux AT.

The first obstacle was to drive the car on a sideways tilt. The car just crawled smoothly in 4H, with a proper accelerator modulation.

The 2nd obstacle was to check the articulation and the E-Diff locks. I crawled in 4L. The articulation of the Hilux is excellent. Hero was my instructor and he advised me not to engage the E-diff locks till the diagonal wheels lose traction.
Once the wheels lost traction, I just engaged the E-diff locks and released the brake pedal. Without even touching the accelerator the Hilux crawled out of the obstacle.

The 3rd obstacle was to drive up on the ramp and then come down. While climbing up, I was instructed to stop the car mid-way, so I could feel how the Hill-Hold-Assist works. After stopping, I just gave a gentle input on the accelerator and the car crawled up without a hiccup. I was in 4L.
On the descent, I left the accelerator and the brake, and the car was in 4L with the HDC engaged. The HDC did its work perfectly and the car crawled down. This ramp even tested the approach and departure angle of the Hilux.

The 4th obstacle was fun. It was like a seesaw/teeter-totter obstacle. I slowly approached in 4H, and just after crossing the midway, I stopped the car and we landed on the other side!

A video of all the 4 obstacles with me behind the wheel.

Re: Toyota Hilux Review

Last month, I experienced the true potential of this beast. I had track day planned at BIC in November 2024 and we chose to test the hilux, which belongs to my friend. To say the least, this machine is just incredible in terms of utility, Power, Presence and to some extent confident handling( when loaded at rear) than fortuner.

We started from Chandigarh and then joined Eastern peripheral expressway for Greater Noida. Ride was so flat that thought of having a Superbike strapped at rear didn’t bother us at all. Rear was perfectly in sync with front of car. There was not even a single moment when we had to slow down for uneven cemented patches on EPE.

My friend, who is regular to BIC, uses trailer for 2 super bikes behind his fortuner, attested the might and road manners of, hilux better than fortuner.
Attaching a short video clip.

I am just holding back to replace my 2014 Fiesta with new hilux, rumoured with hybrid petrol engine, but this wait is just getting on my nerves. But again I really like to keep my machines for long, so trying to have some patience and enjoy this beast for as long as possible.

Re: Toyota Hilux Review

Hey Guys,

Hope all of you are doing well.

I have been looking for a Toyota Hilux and unfortunately all the dealers within Mumbai and Pune are out of stock currently with no idea of when the stocks would be coming back in. There is a dealer up in Rajasthan with whom my friend had a conversation with; he was happy to give us a discount of around 13 lakhs but unfortunately he ran out of the inventory.

The car will be bought under the company name and we only care for the ex-showroom price. Trying to get the Hilux under 25lakh ex-showroom price. Open for negotiations but if there is any dealership you know which would potentially have the stock of Hilux.

That will be very very helpful for myself, as it is going to be my dad's gift and he is in love with the Hilux.

If there is any info or leads, please send them through as it will help me in making his dream come true.

Also I must point out that 2nd hand cars are not going to be looked at, we are looking at top-end model in most probably red or black colour.

Thank you for the help and potential leads.

Regards,
Krish

Re: Toyota Hilux Review

Hey there! I saw ur post today and I am currently residing in Coimbatore where if I remember correctly, there was a Red Hilux in top spec in the showroom 2-3 months back when I went for a friend's Glanza Delivery. Unsure if it is still there, Hilux inventory moves quite slowly in CBE. It might be too far from where you are, but if it helps, I'm more than happy to assist.

There are multiple Hilux top-end variants available in Ahmedabad, Gujarat at DJ Toyota with discounts of up to 10-11 lakhs depending on color and availability.

Let me know if you want more details I’ll try to connect you to an associate who talked to me a week ago.

Looks like Toyota will stop importing and selling Hi-Lux. All discounts to clear existing dealer stock, perhaps.

Hey mate,

Would love to be in contact with them if possible. Please forward the details when you can.

All over india is fine but the car will be registered in Maharashtra. Feel free to send me through the details in my messages or mention them in this thread.

Thanks,
Krish

Re: Toyota Hilux Review

Hi Cubewires,

Please have a look at the Toyota Hilux India Facebook page. There are stocks in Mumbai (Red/Grey) with 12 Lakhs discount. Please contact Ritesh 7069616416. These guys charges some commissions. Other wise you may call the Toyota dealers in Mumbai and enquire. Who knows you may get a better deal. Please pick-up phone and speak. That's what I did for my car and got 13.5 Lakhs deal.

Best regards:

Re: Toyota Hilux Review

Hi Hilux owners:

Is the car appropriate to take to hill stations like Ooty or is it too wide for roads there? Are brakes good enough for downhill drives?

What about doing Bangalore Pondicherry or Mysore trips? Say crusing at 120-100kmph and braking as needed?
