This is super helpful. While I'm getting some accessories from the dealership, stuff like mats & roofrails are going to come from outside.

I've completed the PDI and am super stoked about getting the delivery (hopefully by the end of this week) once the BH registration is done!!!

Sharing a few pics from my PDI visit on 26/Feb. It comes factory fitted with Goodyear tyres mid to end-Jan'25 manufactured (pic attached). It looks relatively clean on the pics, though it was really dusty when I saw it at the yard and I'd to get them to splash water on the car to start looking at the paintwork, but it wasn't sparkling as much as it will on delivery day.

On the dash, it had run only 5km and despite having 2-3 liters of fuel, it showed half tank! I owe some notes once I get my miles in.

Meanwhile, I had to deal with maintenance issues on my 9yr old Skoda Rapid with 1.85 lakh kms under its belt, with it's radiator fan going kaput on the highway. That comes in the next reviews I'll put up.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Basic Questions. Appreciate help.

Can anyone point out how to get the following things done in Hybrid.

On which position should the gear be when moving out of multilevel basement parking, where the exits are on inclined up sloping circular outs? Noticed my friend having a hard time to exit from the basement parking.

Is the power in to the TOYOTA dashcam a USB C or B connection? (Front and Rear Dashcam)

Appreciate your time.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

For prospective Hycross (Non Hybrid) customers who wanted to know what kind of Fuel Efficiency it delivers, here you go.

Started at 1.30pm, did tankful, it took 36.72 ltrs of fuel (Normal Petrol). ODO reading was 14612 kms.

My journey began and the car was driven at steady speeds of 110-120 kmph. Engine RPM at these speeds was 1500-1800.

After 346 kms, the average fuel efficiency that MID displayed

This was drive post tea break.
Toyota Innova Hycross Review-img20250304wa0009.jpg

Points to note :
1. Tyre pressure wasn't checked and GX doesn't have TPMS.
2. There were 4 adults and 5 bags (4 Trolley Bags & 1 Briefcase).
3. AC was used 100% at speeds of 2/3 with temperature being lowest. (GX doesn't get Automatic Climate Control)
4. Above trip is 90% Highway drive and 10% City.

If one knows how to drive a CVT, the Innova Hycross will impress you with its refined powertrain and optimum power at a tap of throttle. While this also results in good efficiency.

If anyone has any questions related to Hycross Non Hybrid, please feel free to post here. This month on 25th, my car will turn 1 and it's been appreciated by every family members and friends since purchase. I am happy that i went ahead with Non Hybrid since my usage is predominantly on highways while for city drives I have other cars.

Thanks.

Thanks CarguyNish, I have chosen GX(O) based on my usage, Hycross never failed to impress !!

I am getting 12kmpl during morning 7am in Bangalore city traffic and almost same while returning around 4pm through infamous Marathahalli outer ring road, its about 50km round trip when I go to office.

Best so far ~16.x kmpl on highways at ~110kmph
[got 18kmpl also when driven within 100kmph]
Worst ~8kmpl in bumper to bumper traffic

Could you pls share your best and worst mileage figures?

I usually drive at 110-120, so the figures will be slightly low.

Best : 17.3 kmpl.
Worst : 11.5 kmpl

These are tankful methods.

Worst inside city (Bengaluru) is when MID showed FE of 4.1 kmpl. This was during peak hours traffic and i was in car for 3 hrs. (Sheraton Grand Whitefield to JC Road).

This is quite reassuring for people who are planning for non Hybrid Hycross. Thanks for sharing. Please keep updating with respect to the car. Or better would be, pen down an ownership review.

Unfortunately, no. The closest thing is using wireless carplay to control songs and navigation.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hi All,
I did a PDI for buying a Hyross ZXO hybrid. During the process, we found out that the vehicle makes a rubbing kind of noise when driven by battery. During reverse, noise is very prominent, while going forward, it's not loud.

We tried in two more vehicles, one in the stockyard and the other with the dealership up for delivery and the same noise was there. Has anyone else noticed this?

My sales advisor told me that this is added by Toyota in vehicles from Jan 2025 onwards to make pedestrians aware in the vicinity of the car in EV mode.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Now is that super impressive or what for a loaded petrol vehicle its size to do that at a cruise of 110-120kph! Most competing options would struggle to match it at cruising speeds of 80-100kph!
You really must know how to drive a CVT!

Thanks for pointing this out,

I just checked the latest brochure on Toyota India’s website and under the Safety & Security topic, that last item ie. Acoustic Vehicle Alert system has been newly added.

Checked the older brochure to confirm this new addition.

The New Brochure

Finally a new addition to the car after 2 years and another minor change is that the Sparkling Black Crystal Pearl Shine colour has been discontinued from the HyCross.

It should be similar to how it sounds in international Toyota Hybrid models.

Sounds similar to how you’ve described it:

Now thats really impressive. My old Linea T Jet barely registered 8kmpl for the city duty cycle. Heck 14kmpl on the Highway was only if I drove in mileage mode!

These are numbers that will make the Diesel Innova redundant! Plus you get the added benefit of much improved ride comfort and NVH. Not to forget the ease of driving an automatic.

I'm not familiar with the Hycross. I see that the vehicle has a D-S position on the gear selector. Pop it into "S", which should delay the CVT from changing ratios. Thats one way to tackle it. Alternatively move gear position to S and keep tapping the selector to "-" till it shows "1" which will be the lowest ratio on the e-CVT.

Or, move drive selector to D, hit the Drive Mode and select Power. Should almost replicate the condition I described above. Take it out of "Power" mode once you clear the incline.

If there is sufficient battery charge, the car should rely 100% Electric for such situations. Again, the grade and load are other contributing factors that come into play.

I just use Drive mode in eco setting and make sure that auto hold is on in case I need to stop on the slope.

This is really an amazing mileage for a Non Hybrid variant!. If you can get 15.2 KMPL at 110-120 KMPH speed and with 4 passenger and luggage, what will be the mileage if you drive alone at 80 to 90 KMPH speed?. Have you tried this?

I got in excess of 18kmpl when driven around 80kmph, that's how refined Toyota's Naturally Aspirated 2.0 ltr Engine is

I drove in 80-90 kmph speeds till I reach 1000kms (just for my satisfaction), below is the report on 300km drive, when ODO was 570kms:
