Some of the issues I noticed
1) I don’t know if it is because these are pre-production units, the quality of some of the plastic parts, like the piece housing the power window controls on the door pad, the piece covering the power outlets on the dash etc., were simply atrocious . It has no business being in a 30+ lakh car.
2) The leg space in the 2nd row is ok, but the battery under the first row is a problem and if you have long legs (I am above 6) then it will be uncomfortable during long journeys
3) The seat bolstering on the front seat and also on the 2nd row was not that great.

I completely agree with your assessment. I saw the car yesterday in Delhi, and it has made me super unsure if I want to go ahead with my booking
- The quality of plastic and overall finish (doors, roof lining, seats) felt sub-par, at least 2-3 segments below. :Frustrati Definitely does not deserve a 30+ OTR pricing even for the top model
- The Ottoman feature is a novelty which will never really be used if anyone is above 5’6 – Feet kept bumping on the front seat
- The infotainment UX and speaker quality too seemed extremely basic and few generations old
- The width of the seat handles in second row is too thin – Not even half an inch. This is not going to be super uncomfortable at all for anyone with medium built and above.
Not sure of if it’s the right assessment, but it felt bit of a downgrade from Crysta in terms on finish and comfort.
Toyota Innova Hycross prices are out:
Quote:
The new Innova commands up to Rs 5 lakh over its predecessor.
Toyota has revealed the prices of the Innova Hycross, the latest generation model of its popular MPV. It’s offered in five variants and here’s the detailed price list (ex-showroom Delhi):

The strong-hybrid VX commands around Rs five lakh over the non-hybrid GX. The price increase looks huge, but the additional cost is for more features and the strong-hybrid powertrain. You have the choice of an eight-seater configuration which gets three-seater benches for second and third row or a seven-seater with captain seats in the second row. For that, the premium is Rs 5,000.

With the hybrid, Toyota claims a fuel efficiency figure of 21.1kpl, giving it a range of 1,097km on a full tank of fuel.

I might be wrong or my thought process might be different, but I somehow strangely find the prices to be pretty good.
Crysta diesel ZX automatic had an ex showroom price of 26.7 lacs in Hyderabad(as per carwale). And if I compare that to the prices of the Hycross, Hycross top end costs 28.97 lacs. So for a 2.2 lac extra, I get a completely reengineered monocoque platform car with all bells and whistles required with a hybrid motor which has running costs comparable to a diesel albeit protecting sentiments of the nature conscious souls.
IMO, that is not bad given the current prices of cars. Ofcourse this car's prices will go up in no time. But still, I find the pricing to be pretty good.
The prices are shown on powerdrift as well
We FINALLY know the prices for the Toyota Innova HyCross.
Here's the variant-wise break up:
Petrol
G (7S): ₹18.30 lakh
G (8S): ₹18.35 lakh
GX (7S): ₹19.15 lakh
GX (8S): ₹19.20 lakh
Hybrid
VX (7S): ₹24.01 lakh
VX (8S): ₹24.06 lakh
ZX: ₹28.33 lakh
ZX (O): ₹28.97 lakh
Roughly translates to On-Road prices between 22 to 35 Lakhs :thumbs up
Toyota has certainly delivered a sweet surprise, the prices are easily 2-2.5 lac lesser than what people actually expected.
Good thing is that it will cause a decent cut in the waiting period for XUV 700 and Scorpio N.
EDIT: Just called a friend whose XUV 700 D AT was to be delivered in a few days after he agreed for all dealer T&C (accessories, costlier insurance, daana paani all), he has simply decided to go ahead with Innova VX for the price difference as it gives the running cost lesser than the diesel and a 15 year life in Gurgaon. Till last week, he had to say "no use booking it bhai, its price will be out of reach".
After Mahindra, Toyota dealers too will be dancing now.
Wow, for ADAS the premium is only ₹64k, didn’t expect Toyota to charge anything less than 2 Lakhs!
Overall pricing is along expected lines…
Toyota knows the Crysta won’t be there for long, this will be their bread-and-butter model going forward so they couldn’t afford to overprice it!
PS: Now only if the top-end ZX got an option for 8 seats!
Hycross pricing has been revealed.
I feel that Toyota has made sense and not gone too high with the pricing and it's well justified compared to the Crysta.
XUV700, ScorpioN, Safari all have got a new competitor.
Petrol Variants
G (7S): ₹18.30 lakh
G (8S): ₹18.35 lakh
GX (7S): ₹19.15 lakh
GX (85): ₹19.20 lakh
Hybrid Variants
VX (7S): ₹24.01 lakh
VX (8S): ₹24.06 lakh
ZX: ₹28.33 lakh
ZX (0): ₹28.97 lakh
That's the right pricing to challenge the competition.
Whatever brand equity of Toyota, the market could have thought has been perfectly factored in the prices.
I see more bookings for Hycross and cancellations in competitor products.
Great pricing! I assume the pricing for Maruti's variant would be in similar vein as they did with Hyryder with lower variant Maruti equivalent being cheaper and higher variant Maruti equivalent being expensive.
This is going to sell in huge numbers, there would be a huge waiting period probably and we can expect a couple of price increases next year.
If you have the '16-'17 top variant Crysta, you can easily sell it for 15-18 lakhs (depending on condition) and upgrade to this one with 10-14 lakhs more. A pretty good deal.
Also, they still probably won't be able to shed that taxi tag.
Fantastic pricing. This is going to lead to massive waiting period.
This is great pricing, in fact, this is a great investment plan. The pricing will surely go up in the near future. The top end with ADAS feels the most value for money offering. Fortuner petrol 2WD AT is 5 lakhs more than this in ex-showroom price and seems very overpriced now.
This pricing makes me think Crysta AT variants are not coming back. If at all, Crysta gets relaunched, it will be manual models just to cater to fleet market.
I'm so glad I pre-booked it. Waiting time is going to be atrocious now.
Fantastic pricing by Toyota This will sell in huge numbers.
Glad to have pre-booked!
But I am only concerned about the safety rating it will get.
My other choice was/is XUV700.
If this launch can get some customers from XUV700, then I may shift to Diesel XUV700 AT.
