Seems like an issue with your car that you should get checked. Mine sort of holds itself in place and will not move till pushed back hard

Re: Maruti Grand Vitara Review

avoid installing the update 76TA.07.00

Had updated my system a few weeks back. Seems to have started a disconnection problem that was very rare in the past. My phone now very frequently gets disconnected from the system and will then keep throwing up an error of the type "Android Auto has stopped, please restart". The only way to get rid of it is to literally turn the car off, wait 10 sec, turn the car on and reconnect.

Too much pain for literally no new improvements that i could see.

Yes, these are only performance improvement versions, with no new functionality added. I have been using this update for the last 3-4 months. Initially, there were some crashes, but it has stabilized and is now performing normally. Try updating your Android Auto/CarPlay; hopefully, it will fix the issue. There are so many variables that can cause stability issues, making it hard to determine the exact cause.

What is the approximate cost of insurance for the Zeta AT (mild hybrid) model for the first year?

Thanks.

Mine is Zeta MT and I had gotten very different quotes from different dealers. About 39k at one and round 62k at another. Ended up getting it from the one with the 39k quote after checking around for the price.

Re: Maruti Grand Vitara Review

Hi All,

Can someone please clarify if a 2022 Grand Vitara is E20 fuel compatible. Since the K15C engine was already updated i didn't think there would be a gap before Suzuki would make it compatible but not sure since most online articles mention that Maruti lineup would be compatible by April 2023.

Can an owner of a pre Apr 2023 model check and let me know? I am looking at a used 2020 Grand Vitara and don't really want to deal with issues in a few years.

Re: Maruti Grand Vitara Review

Did a long road trip over last week. I really enjoyed the drive, played around with the drive modes and the "Power" (or whatever it is called!) mode was the most enjoyable. Even with a lot of spirited driving the FE was decent ~18KMPL.

One big disappointment were the headlights. Even though mine is the top end one and has the LEDs, I found both the throw and the brightness inadequate on dark roads.

Any recommendations for an LED upgrade?

Re: Maruti Grand Vitara Review

@JithinR - MSL GV has been E20 compliant since launch, September 2022 - but why and how you are looking for a used 2020 GV? Hope you meant 2022.

@Indusboy - Mine is H Hybrid, which came with halogen bulbs (a pair of candles) - I replaced these with MOCO Pro Vision LEDs 156W, 4,300K - just adequate for my requirement and do not cause any irritation to oncoming vehicles. I had the option to go for 192W but chose not to. Dealers (Viva Toyota) were offering at ~9.5k. I got these from aftermarket at ~5k. Did not know that top end LEDs are inadequate.

Other options explored were Blaupunkt and Osram - but preferred what Toyota dealers were recommending.

Yep, that was a typo. Thanks for clarifying. Since there is news of Maruti making all vehicles E20 compliant by April 2023 that comes up on a Google search, I assumed that there was a period in which the GV was not compliant.

Are you an Owner of the 2022 model? Or do you know if the 2022 GV come with the "Upto E20 petrol" or something similar sticker under the fuel lid?

Same case with me.
Mine is Delta CNG with halogen bulbs and its just inadequate.
During first service at the service center, the headlamps are adjusted somewhat on high compared to factory settings.
After that, the focus / throw is corrected but basically the throw brightness is too low.
I found a way to sort out this with stock lamps.
After focus correction during first service, i am using high beam at 3-4 point setting. I am temporarily ok with focus and brightness of current stock halogens. But i feel that there is definite need of headlamps bulbs replacement.
Looking for LED options without voiding warranty.

BTW, got 28km/kg on CNG mode yesterday on 500 km drive.

I am only surprised, that this issue was never highlighted by any of the specialists who have done the review of the model during the test drive hitherto!
Sir, can you provide an update and let us know how your Mild Hybrid AT is performing now?

Shocked to hear of issues in a torque converter setup (though from the Youtube video that you had posted in the thread earlier I guess it could be related to something else too) but I was hoping that Maruti has fixed the issue for good.

Re: Maruti Grand Vitara Review

Finally got the spare wheel fitted with an alloy today as I intend to use all 5 tyres in the tyre rotation process.

A single TPMS sensor was not available with them, and had to be ordered. Alloy rim and centre cap was available.

TPMS Cost: 2718
Wheel Cost: 8820
Centre Cap: 59
Fitment Cost: 250

After installing the rim on the spare wheel, it needs to be mounted on one of the axles and the vehicle has to be run at 40 km/h for 3-4 km and the system detects the new sensor (no re-learning required).

The new rim is on the spare wheel right now. My annual service comes up in a couple of months and that's when it will come into rotation.

Safest bet is to go with Osram 50W LED bulbs and the difference between halogen and these LEDs is massive. I personally use the 4200K version and really like the overall output. Remember to go with HIR2 bulbs instead of HB4. Most sellers will push HB4 but there is a slight difference in the socket type.

It's not really a defect to begin with, it's about the ignorance on Maruti's end failing to iron out the small jerks when regeneration starts and stops. Drive any GV mild hybrid AT and you'll feel those mild jerks, especially during low speeds. I've gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me anymore.

Re: Maruti Grand Vitara Review

A few of months ago, there was a buzz that Maruti sent some cars like the Grand Vitara for
BNCAP testing. God knows what happened after that, as there is complete radio silence from BNCAP and Maruti. Does anyone have any update on that?
Thanks

Re: Maruti Grand Vitara Review

A question for fellow forum members. Which CSUV rides best?

Honda Elevate or G Vitara/Toyota HyRyder.

Some YouTube channels mention the Maruti-Toyota siblings are best. Few others say Elevate. Then again we have the Magic Carpet ride of Citroën.

I personally found the Elevate to be best.

Also seek a specific input- how to parametrically assess ride comfort without the ambiguity of individual bias?
