For the "Premium" segment they could have brought in the CNG version with the 6 speed AT. Economy plus convenience, best combination for city driving.

Great figures for your GV mild drive AT variant, makes me wonder how could a hybrid version justify its price difference.

Also affordable CNG is clearly another tough competition for the hybrid.

Yes one needs to do a lot of running (especially city driving) to utilize the full benefit of a strong hybrid. I generally do WFH hence I don’t have much of a city drive.
On highways there is not much of a huge difference between both variants, I was able to easily get 24~26Kmpl.

Attached are highway drive stats generated by the Suzuki connect app.

Re: Maruti Grand Vitara Review

Maruti is helpless and has no choice but to introduce CNG version across all models in their portfolio. As I have already mentioned in an other thread on upcoming CAFE Stage 2.
With NO Diesel, NO Turbo Petrols, NO Strong Hybrid [Except Vitara] they have to have CNGs across mass selling variants to avoid huge penalties.
With rising CNG prices, if the sales don't pick up in near term, we might see some discounting as well.

I agree. Strong Hybrids shine primarily in City driving.

I understand, on highways , mileage advantage for strong hybrid is 3 to 4 kmpl over mild variant.

In City limits, with flowing traffic, such advantage increase to 7 to 8 kmpl.

In City limits, with bumper to bumper slow moving traffic, advantage almost toches 10kmpl (as Car crawls forward on battery for long perio without waking up engine).

For me, my daily driving is combination of scenario 2 & 3. only 5 to 10% of my drive will be on open highways. Now I have started getting 21kmpl on strong hybrid variant of Hyryder.

Re: Maruti Grand Vitara Review

Got delivery of GV hybrid variant on Friday. One question for other GV owners- Did you get a hard copy of owner's manual? I did not- seems Maruthi does not give a printed copy of manual for GV and Baleno. Can someone confirm?

Another cost cutting measure no hardcopy , you can download the owners manual from website.

Thanks for the confirmation. I guess I will download the PDF and print it out, get some kind of binding done- shouldn't cost more than 1k.

I prefer reading stuff from "books"/"paper" to screens.

Still don't understand the logic why females are made to stand beside the cars. I have been to the Auto Expo in 2016 and feel sorry for these girls because of the pathetic crowd that comes to the expo.

Surprisingly car had two stock speakers on the front door, decided to ditch it for infinity component speakers.
Could you reveal how much did the whole setup cost with speakers and how is the user experience with key largo in terms of smoothness, speed, time taken to come on after ignition

I have booked hyryder neo drive e variant and in search for a good infotainment system and speakers.

Re: Maruti Grand Vitara Review

Anyone got the boot mat for the strong hybrid? Nexa does not seem to have one available as an accessory.

I don't have the exact breakup, but overall cost was 42k. This included the 9 inch head unit, infinity components for the front, infinity coaxial for the rear, wires, rear and front camera and installation charges.

Had plenty of bitter experience with aftermarket installation, so decided to get it done from a reputed shop, overall cost is probably higher than market price.

Overall it's a decent head unit, it's an android system but doesn't have Android auto or apple car play, one can use hotspot from mobile to install required apps or one can use mirror function. Boot up speed is quite fast, touch is responsive and UI is easy to use. Haven't loaded too many apps, so it's fast enough for now.

Sound quality is good, much better than vanilla OEM ones. Not much of an audiophile so can't comment more on this.

One thing I like is it's OEM like looks, fits the dash perfectly.
