Does the car not come with door unlock button on the driver side? That should unlock the boot as well isn't it?

Yes on a highway if you routinely drive more than 100kms/hour you may choose Seltos/Creta or even elevate.
Thank you for the update.
I test drove Kia Seltos Auto before deciding on Toyota Hyryder S Hybrid variant.
Reason for choosing S Hynbrid Variant:
- Kia looks good & has feature but is a fuel guzzler. City conditions just 10-12kmpl.
- GV has only 2 Full hybrids & both have the Skyroof with very flimsy cover.
- I saw reviews where these get heated up during summer & puts more load on the AC.
- In any case, I don't see any purpose for skyroof in a city like Mumbai.
- Toyota Hyryder S variant does not have the Skyroof feature & that more or less sealed by decision.
- I test drove Full Hybrid Hyryder AT from "Millenium Toyota" at Thane. I currently drive Honda City CVT, and hence I found the AT version quite responsive as compared to City CVT.
- I reset both A & B trips to Zero & drove in full traffic & highway for about 25 min. Average milage was about 24kmpl & with AC switched off, it jumped to 30.
- I drive about 50kms per day, 5 days a week. This is not much, but still felt I should own a car, which has good technology in it.
- I found the black color look really great for this car.
- A rough cost working I got from dealer was about Rs 19.70 lacs for S hybrid variant.
- Delivery period currently is about 2 months for this S Hybrid.

Re: Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Review

I took delivery of an S hybrid 2 weeks back. Had to wait 1 year and 2 months from booking date to finally get an allocation. Even then my choice color was not available and had to settle for Red color.

Between booking and delivery, prices went up by 1.5Lacs. However in 2024 S variant gained 6 airbags.

Have driven only 300 Kms until now, initial impressions are mostly positive, planning to put up an initial review thread once I clock more miles on the car.

I am surprised that you get such low average in Bangalore traffic. I test drove the Hyryder for 30min in Mumbai traffic, and could achive 25+ kmpl.
Bangalore weather is pretty cool.....try putting off the AC (run the blower) and see if this makes a difference.

Re: Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Review

Hi. Any idea on the resale prices of Hyryder? One of my friends wants to purchase, so where can I get the prices?

Re: Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Review

I got my V hybrid two weeks back and so far everything is ok except the working of 360 camera. Does the display switch automatically to 360 mode when the vehicle is slowed down or we always have to manually push the switch?

Appreciate your inputs. And the camera quality is not very good.

On popular portals like Spinny, only few NeoDrive cars (non Hybrids) are available. Price ranges from Rs 10 -13 lacs.
I could not get to see any full hybrids in Hyryder nor in GV.
Earlier, I had seen GV highest Hybrid version 2022 re-sale at Rs 18.5 lacs

.
It doesn't. You have to press the button Everytime you want to switch to 360*. And yes, the camera quality is crap.

I booked S Variant Full Hybrid on 15th March 2024. I am told that the waiting period will be less than 2 months. Hopeful to receive my vehicle around mid May2024.

Re: Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Review

Got 22.7 kmpl on a recent Delhi-Dehradun drive. It was a properly quick drive at triple digit speeds. We were nearly an hour quicker than Google Maps ETA so that should give an idea.
I had honestly expected the average to drop below 20 given that the engine was on most of the time.

On a previous run had achieved 28.6 kmpl but there was a lot of traffic that day which helped with mileage.

Basically the Hyryder gives twice the mileage of the Jimny with similar driving style and road conditions. The car was also noticeably more comfortable over potholes than the Seltos in which we did the return journey (which returned 13.8 kmpl).

Re: Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Review

As I understand, the battery pack of Hyryder hybrid is 0.77kwh whereas an Ather or Ola has a battery capacity of 3.7- 4 kwh.The latter takes very less space to pack in the two wheeler whereas toyota takes whole lot space.
Why is it so?

The scooter with everything costs 1.5- 1.7 lakh on road where as the battery pack alone in Hyrder is 1.9 lakh. Why does smaller capacity battery pack costs so much than the scooters?

Re: Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Review

It's not just about the size of the battery.
You have to consider the total amount of weight both packs have to move from point A to B.
Another factor is the warranty and life of the battery.

The scooters has bigger capacity battery packed in a small space where as the hyrder battery takes up considerable space despite being smaller capacity.

Re: Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Review

First service : 756 kms : 05/03/2024

I gave a written list of 5 concerns and complaints during my first 1k service at Nippon Toyota. None of them were addressed or given a proper explanation. Additionally, they broke the clips of the rear windshield blind accessory, rendering it unable to be installed back. The issues I raised were:

1. A "dub dub" sound from the brake pedal, possibly due to brake lever play or loose joints.
2. A creaking sound from the center console.
3. Noise from the boot extension piece on rough roads.
4. Difficulty in closing the driver's door on the first attempt.
5. The cause of the blinking red spot light in the instrument cluster.

Have you faced any of these listed problems?
