Did your Zen have crumple zones and have high marks for pedestrian safety?

If Tucson had the same bumper as Zen, it would fail both passenger and pedestrian safety tests. Vehicle safety standards have changed a lot since last couple decades.

I don't think they use such brittle plastics for safety reasons and to your point my Ford does both.

The point isn't about pedestrian safety but quality of plastics used. Use of fiber reinforced plastic would avoid such chips. In case of a hit, if the bumper cracks like this, it can inflict bloody wound due to sharp edges rather than something that absorbs it and changes shape only.

Debuda's point about underbody support is also to the point.

Seeking expert advice: Should the excess 2L of engine oil be drained?

Also not sure what needs to be done further I have driven the car with 7.2L engine oil for more than 23,000 + KMS.
I reached out to Hyundai directly and the dealer here. This dealer is one of the prominent dealers in the South where they own/sell almost every brand including the prestigious "The Spirit of Ecstasy".

The official and final response is that NX4 Tucson (the current generation) has an oil capacity of 6.4L. 5.6L is for the oil top-up, and 6.4L is for the full flush-out refill. The earlier 7.6L is for the old Tucsons and looks like a mistake in the manual/website.

So until now the SCs have charged extra (for 7.6L) and my dealer told me that they will initiate a refund for the last time's extra amount collected.

This time I ordered Shell (8L) with the same grade (from Amazon as they are the only authorised seller of Shell engine oils in India). Anyway, there is no option to order 6.4L because of the availability of only 4L cans. Either I dispose of the remaining oil (because it cannot be used in any other car) or use it during the next service.

Re: 2022 Hyundai Tucson Review

Hello All,

I recently explored the Octo Q projectors for the Hyundai Tucson, and I must say, they look impressive and very tempting to upgrade. I spoke with both vendors, and the cost for the upgrade, including installation is Rs 60,000.

Your headlight LED Reflector will be replaced with Projectors with colour temperature of around 5500 Kelvin and around 120 Watts each side.

1.LED Source Decoder
2.Vehicle Specific Frames
3.Plug & Play OCTA Q wiring Harness
4.Butyl Sealant
5.Focus Calibration

The process will take two days and comes with a one-year replacement warranty.

Thanks to FB friend Prabha who shared the vendor details with me.

Re: 2022 Hyundai Tucson Review

Hello Folks, what kind of discounts can we expect for the Tucson? A casual call to a dealership here in Mumbai got me a 2.6L off of AWD variant. Still the OTR price hovers above 42L. Is it possible to get it under 40? Considering the Kodiaq L&K has a 6L discount as of now.

I spoke to this vendor (Automotive Lighting Experts - FE Retrofit) long back. His name is Anton. One of my other friends also enquired about the Octo Q for his Fortuner. While Anton mentioned that this is plug-and-play (I did not go into the details), my friend went a little deeper to get more clarifications and details. Anton did not revert with an appropriate response - in fact, Anton did not even respond. So it looks like it is not a 100% plug-and-play with 0 cut and paste. Can you please again confirm with Retrofit about the plug-and-play thing and 0 damage to the existing set-up?

Hello there,

I spoke to Sathesh from (Motofocusz) he confirmed that its plug & play no wiring cutting will be done. They will also add additional Plug & Play OCTA Q wiring Harness to maintain proper power load.

Thank you.

Re: 2022 Hyundai Tucson Review

Looking at the Tuscon Diesel Auto to replace my Safari next year when it turns 5. I just hope that we still get the Tuscon and it is not discontinued in India by then. Is the facelift coming to our market?

Any idea on the ongoing offers or discounts from recent buyers? When I test drove the Tuscon early last year I ended up loving it for the rear seat comfort and perfect city-size, they were also offering 2 lakhs off on 2023 models.

Wheel alignment was not done (found not necessary during test drive).

My Tucson's first service is due soon. I'm getting conflicted messaging from across the board regarding the cost of consumables like engine oil.

Can you clarify whether by any chance opted for the service/maintenance pack? I have not opted for that, but in the manual it says consumables will be paid for by the customer, while the service calculator shows it as free and the first instance of it being paid is 4th year/40k. The service center folks mentioned that the consumables will be charged.

I did NOT opt for any additional service / maintenance pack. First 3 annual services are supposed to be totally free. You need to pay only if you insist on using fully synthetic engine oil.

Thank you so much Debuda! I'll discuss this with the service advisor during my visit and take a call on the engine oil recommendation on the day of the service.

I did not pay anything in my 1st service. My second service just got completed in the 1st week. I was asked to pay for Adblue which costed me about 1k. All other consumables and labour was covered.
