There is a steel cross member running along the sub woofer space.
Looks like this steel member has been removed to accomodate the wooden box. This may have an impact on the structural integrity at the rear of the vehicle.

Yes, you are correct about the steel cross member being there.

It has not been removed neither being tampered in any way whatsoever. Removing it will result in the outer panel being bent easily like a plastic. It still rests peacefully behind the enclosure.

Hi, Did the above solution solve your problem? Did the low voltage sign returned again?

I am asking because one of my friend has the similar issue and is worried.

After changing the sensor the battery warning light has not returned but I also not have been on any long trip either.

I have one trip planned in this week and I will update once I am back.

Meanwhile ask your friend if they can visit service center and get it checked.

Hello sir,
My XUV 500 will go through a major update next year, including an audio upgrade + damping.
What is the approximate pricing you got your audio done in?

I just completed another long trip and did not face any issue for battery warning light or any other warning lights. So safe to say that issue was with the battery sensor only.

However I keep facing Android Auto disconnection issues frequently in long trips.

1. An error message comes as wireless Android Auto is disconnected. After clicking OK and clicking back again on Android Auto screen, it reconnects.

2. An error message comes as wireless Android Auto is disconnected but clicking OK and clicking back again on Android Auto screen doesn't work. I have to restart bluetooth and wifi on mobile then it reconnects.

3. Usually on my Android Auto screen Spotify songs are playing along with Google maps navigation. Sometimes I can see songs are playing but sound is not coming. Even changing the song doesn't work. But Android Auto is not disconnected and maps are working fine. At this point if I restart bluetooth and wifi then Android Auto refuses to reconnect. It connects only when car is restarted.

Also please note that I always connect Android Auto with bluetooth and wifi but sometimes it is also connected with wire for charging mobile. So not sure which issue comes when mobile is connected with wire or not.

Does anyone else have faced similar issues.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N Review

Having been a lurker of this forum for almost 10 years and a member for just a little over one, this was certainly not the first message I had in mind. Alas, here we are.

My family brought home the Scorpio-N AT D Z8L in July 2023. Although the vehicle was our second choice (XUV would've been first), we needed a car quick and as luck would have it, this one steed was available in inventory. (This was the time when one/two month waiting periods were the norm for Mahindra's 3 flagship sellers). Since that day we have been pleasantly surprised and pleased with the purchase, as we have not had any major issues with the vehicle.

The minor issues we did come across were the following:
1) Front parking sensors were finicky after some time. When the stars aligned, they'd decide to work; otherwise, they mostly just showed an error. In the last 4-5 months, they've never been in the mood to work. Brought this up at Noida service center during the first full service; they tried messing around with it for 3-4 hours then gave up.
2) Jarring clunking metal sound when going from park to reverse or drive and vice-versa from day 1. This was brought up at Pune service center during the scheduled inspection service and again during another visit for some fender bender repair. I've been told this is apparently normal for the car and is probably due to the parking brake engaging/disengaging. Although I've heard some other Scorpio-Ns making similar noises, I don't really think that makes it acceptable.
3) Once in a blue moon technical glitches or malfunctioning with the adrenox system, not too much to complain about honestly.

Thus, an overall positive experience and I've been very satisfied with the car. Well, that was until yesterday. The car was on it's way back from a trip to Goa, when it decided that it didn't want to go back to Pune. About 160km away from home the car started made some faint rubbing noise for 20-30 which progressively got louder and worse sounding. After stopping the vehicle for a visual inspection, everything seemed fine. The car started up fine but after slotting into D and trying to accelerate, the car wouldn't budge, and it just made some painful noises that a man never wants to hear from their car. Mahindra RSA was contacted and informed of the situation. Although a representative took 4 hours (the tow truck would require an additional 1-2 hours) to reach us, it was a bit of a remote location, so can't really blame them. Rather, I must appreciate how earnest they were with their follow-ups. I only called them once via the car, post which all calls were made from their end to give us timely updates. In the interim, a local mechanic was secured with whom we disgnosed that the rear diff's insides may have gone from a solid to liquid state. As Polandpur (breakdown location) was closer to the Satara ASS than the Pune ASS, the car was taken there. We now await there diagnosis and repair downtime estimate.

As a small surprise for all those that managed to read till the end, my car is the 2wd one with roughly 18k on the odo clock. How the diff managed to turn into sludge in these conditions is something I'd love someone from Mahindra to explain. Being ware of the reputation Indian manufacturers such as Tata and M&M have against their Japanese and Korean counterparts, I was hopeful that my car is one of the lucky ones. It seems though that my true luck has caught up to me now.

P.S. If anyone has contacts at Jay Motors Satara that could be of any additional help, please do reach out. Thanks!

Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N Review

Hello Team,

I'm getting error for rear parking sensor in the instrument cluster whenever reverse gear is engaged. Has anyone in the forum aware of any general issues of it?

Thanks in advance! and Happy new year wishes to all.

Get it replaced under warranty. Parts would be short but that's the only solve. Do not pressure wash the bumper.

Didnt washed the bumper recently. Two weeks before went on a long trip, by that time it was fine. All of a sudden, the error is displayed in the instrument cluster.

Have to check with service center and their long service time . Not sure this will be covered in the extended warranty.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N Review

Went on a 5000 KMs trip to Chitrakot Waterfalls (Bastar), Borra Caves, Vizag, Gopalpur & Puri. Scorpio-N is great mile-muncher, performed brilliantly and returned a fuel efficiency of 15.5 KMPL overall.

I had the same problem. Turns out one (master) sensor was the issue. They replaced it under warranty.

Rear parking sensors have been in cars for more than 10 years now. My previous car (10 year old Polo) and current car both have 4 rear parking sensors. Both the cars have gone through high pressure wash when given to car wash shops on multiple occasion. I have not seen parking sensors throwing error even once in my cars.

1. Could this be an issue with packing material used around parking sensor which causes water to go inside the sensor when bumper is pressure washed?
2. Is this an issue with parking sensor itself as I have seen some other people run into parking sensor issues in Scorpio-N?

Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N Review

Completed 30k post a quick Trip to Indore. It was my first night drive. Vehilce is an absolute mile muncher. Immediately did the 30k Servicing.

There was a slight brake squeal. Front brake pads were glazed and the rear ones worn out. Very surprising as my driving is usually D+1. Coming from a Polo I was surprised at the cost of brake pads. 4.2k for the front & another 3.8 k for the Rear. Differential Oil was replaced. Total damage to the pocket 19k

Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N Review

I just did a non-stop 1150 km Nagpur to Bangalore on my Z6D without any fatigue in 15 hours flat.

At 23K km on ODO, I have never had any issues - touch wood. This is a real beast on highways.
