SN is built for highway rides. Creta for in-city drives. For mostly highway use, I’d recommend the SN any day. Then again, I feel the Creta is way overpriced for what they offer.

SN will feel like a proper SUV with its butch presence. Creta drives like a car. However, Creta is loaded with more gizmos inside. SN provides an amazing 2 lt petrol engine (for your limited driving, Diesel may not be justified). Bit do remember that when you upgrade from an Ecosport to a SN, you will want to drive more - if that’s the case, consider the Diesel. The best way to decide, however, is always to test drive each car multiple times to see what makes sense for you.

Since you are posting on the SN thread, I am assuming your heart says SN. Go for it!

The mods look dope and it is great to see people outside India praising an Indian brand! Happy to see him put SN to actual use instead of making it a Mall Crawler.

Random observation: The Australian market gets 4XPLORE in 6 seater configuration, but we don't, strange!

The Aussie version of the SN also seems to still have MLD at the rear which is removed in the SN for our market
They should atleast offer MLD as an optional addon.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N Review

Hello Everyone,
I would like you guys to help me out with a broken foglamp mount which i came to know about after I was washing the car after almost a 3000 km drive spread across seven days.
Noticed while wiping the bumper that the foglamp is moving back (just the foglamp part is moving while the bezel is intact and firm)upon exerting little pressure and my heart sank, really wished initially for it to be a broken bezel as they’re not that expensive (₹700ish) but sadly the bezel was intact and its the foglamp mount which gave up.Confirmed this by putting my phone inside the engine bay with the video being recorded by its camera.

I have its video and can explain more about the location for those who arent able to get a clear idea of this crack. I am quite stressed about the fact that the broken mount might make the other connection points of the foglamp experience more weight and eventually they too might give up. Looking forward to getting it fixed somehow any ideas regarding how I can fix it as permanently as possible without a whole replace are welcome.

Encircled area can me moved to and fro a little as a result of crack in its mounting

The point where the bolt can be seen was later moved a little by me which lined it up completely with the foglamp body removing the vast gap seen here so now its only a matter of getting these two ends sticked together somehow

It’s a tight space and I don’t think the repair would be done without taking the bumper off but I am okay with it .

I suspect the broken mounts to be one of these

Mahindra makes almost all its money from Indian customers, but reserves the best service and features for the foreigners.

You have to remove the bumper and then the fog lamp mount. You can then fix it using superglue and baking soda, check some youtube videos, its very solid fix, have personally tried.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N Review

Hello Bhpians!
After a long time the family has decided to get a new car. First thing which my mother told me is to get a big vehicle this time. Clearly she was pointing out towards getting an SUV. So the search began. Budget was around 25 lacs and the only vehicles that came forward were XUV700, Scorpio N and Tata Safari.

Previously the Safari was shorlisted as the go to option due to its looks but I have seen the software related issues and nightmares behind it. But was still convinced to take the dive. Then One fine day one of my friend bought a Thar and since he has parking issues he requested me too use my garage to which I happily agreed (Bcz I was going to drive it too as part of the deal ). And after driving it for more than 3 weeks I just fell in love with its commanding seating position which was not there in Safari. Father also agreed after driving the THAR.

But Thar is not a family car and Thar Roxx doesn't have a 7 Seater option so the only option left was SCORPIO N. After having a good discussion with the family we are fully ready to go for Z8L D AT variant.

I just want some recommendations on good SHOWROOMs in KOLKATA which are trustworthy. Thank You in Advance!!

Thank you for your response , was thinking the same but wasn’t sure whether it would be strong enough or not ,seeing ur response made me go for it, the technician opened the bumper and fixed the mount by the baking soda method and its holding good couldn’t take any pictures while it was dismantled as I was too busy monitoring it all closely.

The Aussie overlander styled mod's seem to work well on the Scorpio-N. I like it.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N Review

I recently purchased a Scorpio N Z8L Diesel Manual 4XPLORE on 20th September and I've clocked around 350kms till date. It has been a great experience, however, I am quite often facing an issue and would like to hear from forum members if anybody has faced the same issue.

This doesn't happen always, but when I get in the car and try to start by pressing the push button ignition, it goes to accessory mode and the engine just refuses to start, if I press the push button again, it turns off. If I get out of the car > Lock the car > Unlock the car > Get in and press the ignition button, it works.

I thought I need to wear the seat belt for the engine to turn on, but that didn't work. I thought the mirrors should be opened for the engine to start, but that's not the case either. It randomly happens and when it happens, it's quite frustrating! I look like a fool getting in and out of the car not knowing how to start the car.

Any inputs from SN owners in the forum is highly appreciated.

You need to depress the clutch. The start button light shall go green from red. That’s when you press again. And she shall come alive.

Depress the clutch > Light goes green > press the clutch again and press the button. Is this the right sequence?

Also, does it have clutch lock?

Push START - ACC comes on with red/amber light on START button.

Depress clutch - light goes green - press START - Engine starts

While this is not often discussed, I will whole-heartedly Second this! Never rotate your steering wheel when the car is stationary.

I speak from experience: When I applied for a DL in Dubai way back in 2016 - all tests went perfect - I was denied a License only because I turned my steering on a stationary vehicle during a parallel parking test. It is a Huge No-No, simply because it is extremely bad for your tyres. In these days of assisted steering, it is easy to forget that 2000 kgs is what your 4 tyres lug!

Engine going bad may risk your vehicle being stranded. A kaput tyre risks everyone around you. The road is a public property - your actions can lead to someone else’s risk!

It is not random at all

If your power fold button is on folded, it will not auto unfold on start
Similarly, if it is on unfold, it will not fold on lock

It will only auto fold/unfold when it is on the centre position.

Other than that, all your queries are answered in the operations manual. I strongly suggest going through it.
