Don't go for the roof-crossbar unless you absolutely need it. Many have complained that it creates lot of noise at even relatively low speed.

Perplexing, the N still hasn't gotten a 360 camera and an Electric Parking Brake + Autohold, when even a 3XO has it now. M&M bean-counters really confuse me to no end, especially after that sort of stupid omission of the front passenger door handle sensor button.

Some of these shortcomings will be addressed in the upcoming facelift. M&M is not happy with the Australian crash-test result. Just heard about it in the latest Autocar podcast.

I felt it during the Scorpio-N launch, to keep XUV 700 as its flagship Car, M&M did a step-motherly treatment to Scorpio-N. It already had the ADAS technology but to keep Scorpio’s prices below the XUV; ADAS, 360 Camera, Memory function for seats etc were purposely omitted.
During Scorpio’s launch and now, after the price correction of XUV 700, the price difference is in the range of just Rs.60000 and providing Scorpio-N with all those features could have overshot it’s price above XUV.

Scorpio-N should have been the flagship SUV of M&M from the start and should have been provided with all bell and whistles from the launch time itself.

Such is the fan following, that despite the omissions, Scorpio-N remains the flagship - selling 12k monthly vs 7k for 700.

The other feature omissions could still be understood. But skimping on an auto-dimming IRVM, essentially a safety feature, from at least the Z4 variant onwards was a silly decision.

Is there a date on when the facelift will be launched?

It wasn't mentioned. Hormazd talked about it around 58:25 while winding up the podcast. This refresh is given the code Z115. Probably a bit away from now because I haven't heard about it from any other source so far.

My service center is absolutely horrible. They book you at 9:30 am (16km away) and then keep the car for 2-4 hours before it is even touched.

Calling it crowded would be an understatement.
Even VW ASC is faster than that. Similarly, Skoda replaced the DSG link cable on my Superb within 3 hours.

I wish there was a better ASC for the Scorpio (or at least an alternative nearby). There is one about 5km from my place but they took 4 hours to fill a bottle of shampoo, so I am done with them.

Funny that now I feel that the number of service center visits are similar or a little more than that of the Superb.

Yes, There should be more Mahindra Service centers for a location. For instance, my city which is a major commercial center in Karnataka, has only one M&M dealer and one service center (which is quite big in capacity though, and has a ASC for commercial vehicles located separately).

Anyways, I have applied for M&M dealership, lets see how it goes ! And, that demands for a separate Team-bhp thread :D

WOW! Indeed, you're right. Quite shameful. Here are the before/after pictures from the old brochure I had v/s the latest one.

I've booked the Scorpio N on the 24th of August and the booking confirmation email says the 26th of September to be the expected delivery date. Got a call from the dealership today and they have a Scorpio N in stock which is the exact same colour and variant as I've booked.

I asked them for a PDI, but they are saying that they will receive the vehicle only on the previous day of delivery and customers usually check out the vehicle only then.

Has anyone in the forum purchased a Mahindra from Anant Cars Showroom in Mysore Road, Bangalore? If yes, have you done a PDI before making the payment? Any idea where exactly their stockyard is?

The dealership mentioned that the car was allotted for another customer, but due to financial issues, it has gotten reallotted to me, is there something to worry about or is it normal?

This is normal and should not be a concern. More and more Scorpio-N's may become available quicker as people skip their allotment, waiting to compare Scorpio-N with the Thar Roxx.

So I tried experimenting with some retro film simulation using Dehancer plugin for DaVinci Resolve. Here is the result:

Would recommend watching on something a little larger than a mobile screen

I bought from different dealer (Sireesh auto) and insisted for PDI before payment. They happily agreed and i did PDI. Post PDI i started the payment process. It is always good to go for PDI before payment process.

Whether its your own booking or other's allotted to you- pls insist on PDI before making the full payment.
Days of long waiting are gone, if dealer asks for full payment for allotting the car to you without PDI, simply refuse.:thumbs up

Thankyou GTO. How about a Petrol AT review and a comparison with the Diesel AT 4X2. (Apologies if this review is already available in this thread somewhere!

From the available brochure on Mahindra website, it seems 4WD option is not available in Petrol 5 Door Thar. Mahindra did make a lot of money in 2022-23 during high demand of cars and short changed the Scorpio-N initial batch buyers. Thar 5 Door is fully loaded and it seems the top end will be priced a little lower than Top end Scorpio-N.

This is what TATA does. When I bought my Manza in 2012, many features were missing when compared to test driven vehicle. When asked dealer said we have removed the features based on customer feedback!! Which customer will ask to remove a feature?? It seems someone from Tata has joined Mahindra.lol:

Mahindra has done this in the past with XUV 300 (launched in 2019), Thar 2.0 (launched in 2020), Scorpio-N Z8 models.
The initial offerings from Mahindra and Tata in first year of launch are feature loaded but will come with electronic issues and other niggles which may require additional service center visits. As the issues stabilize over time, some other features are deleted in name of cost optimization along with cost increase. You get product with somewhat less niggle and also with lesser features than what was available at launch time.
