Seriously, this just makes me go crazy everytime I drive the car in the night. How much would it have costed to extend the light till the drivers side. Moreover there are no footlights and adding anything on this car calls for huge risks and losing warranty..

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Guys, need help. I have purchased a Viofo A129 PLUS DUO for the Virtus GT. I also got the hardwiring kit, but that will have to wait sometime, as I want to consult with the dealer & avoid any potential warranty issues.

The inital intention was to wire to the 12V socket in the centre console, but found that it is always on. The only option was to connect to one of the USB posts below the rear AC vent. A test install went well & the cameras work fine. Now I have to route the cables properly. So, here are my questions -
  1. Does anyone know how to remove the A pillar cladding?
  2. More importantly, is there an airbag in the A pillar of the Virtus GT?

Thanks in advance.

I have 2 choices:
1. Osram - https://www.osram.in/ecat/LEDriving%...7/ZMP_4059212/
2. Phillips - https://www.usa.philips.com/c-p/LUM1...wersport-bulbs

I am not able to find any examples of cars that have changed theirs with these.

Ideally I would like to get the Osram only, but the Phillips is an OK substitute. Don't want to get any other make, unless they are a reputable OEM choice (anywhere in the world).

If anybody knows a dealer/reseller/installer in Mumbai who I can check with that would super!
Having tried this on a polo earlier, it may not a straight plug and play. The clip that holds the bulb will not fit a H8 led bulb. You have to either do jugaad or use clips available on amazon.

Btw the led lights do not work very well in rains, maybe that is the reason for the halogen fog lamps. Think twice before changing to led. I generally keep the fogs off, unless I need it so I am not concerned about the different colors. Also, if fog lamp is on then automatic headlights remain on all the time. Thus its best to keep fog light switched off, unless actually needed.

Thanks for the info!

There seem to be H8 LED and then H8 LED-Fogs, do you happen to know which ones you used? I am not the expert here, but I see differences in the clipping and general construction in the images online.

Ive changed my fog lamps, they are regular H8 LEDs (earlier I had 72W, but now ive got 130W) and its a direct plug and play fix, nothing needs to be done. You can see my posts above to see how nice the throw is! The standard headlights just arent good enough.

Virtus GT Updates - Part 12

Delivery Date: 27th September 2022
First Year Service: 17th September 2023
ODO: ~12,500

This is going to be a good read, buckle up!

I had a short road trip coming up so I decided that it was time to get the first yearly service done 10 days before it was due. Booked a service at VW Noida. Was advised to reach early so that my work is done on priority (or so I thought). I reached sharp at 10am to find that there was a Vishwakarma Puja going on at the workshop, so no one was available to attend to the car.

1 hour later once the Puja was completed, I rushed the team to get my job card opened. There were a few things that I wanted looked into this time

1st Year Service (Oil change, Oil filter, Cabin filter, lubrication and general checkup)
Replace clock spring (still clicking away)
Brake cleaning (both front and rear)
Rear suspension sound on certain rough patches

Things were going well, oil etc was changed quickly, lubrication was done and then came lunch. Work stopped at 1, and resumed at 1:30. Now the good part, I was told that the team here knew about the sound coming from the rear suspension and had a fix and that this doesnt take longer than 30 mins to fix (yeah right?)

Here is what the rear mount looks like, notice the two “ears”

Volkswagen Virtus Review-before.jpg

Here is what it looks like after they hammer the ears in, as thats where the shocker mount hits the “ears”

Volkswagen Virtus Review-bang-.jpg

Volkswagen Virtus Review-after.jpg

So everything gets fixed etc (do note that I have Cobra lowering springs, and they did mention that I should revert to stock if anything were to go wrong in the future, but they would try the fix)

Here is the bill I paid, pleasantly surprised that I got away with it all (without an SVP) for just 6,500/- , I was given a discount thanks to being a customer for the past decade.

I don't opt for washing as this takes far too long, got in the car and made my way towards my planned lunch spot. Rather immediately something was very wrong, the rear end felt loose, and very very bouncy, and the sound that was earlier not that loud, was super loud and it felt like everything was rattling around in the boot. So I pulled over to check if the tool kit had gotten loose - sadly this was not the case and I knew I had to turn around.

Called my trusted service advisor who said come back asap we will fix whatever it is TODAY itself and not give you any trouble. Now, I had left my house at 930am without eating breakfast and now it was nearly 330pm. I was tired and hungry.

Dropped the car back to them and said guys, you figure it out, they lifted the car and to my surprise, the rear springs could simply be pulled out by hand! This is when I said, guys fix it, I'm leaving for lunch.

One hour later, I got a call, hey we’ve fixed the car, and we replaced your rear right shock under warranty as it “may” have got damaged when it was being removed (this could be the case as the mechanic was stepping on them when loosening the top nut to open and grease the system)

I deferred the clock spring fix to later as I was just too tired to figure this out.

So, finally, I get the car at 545pm. I drive out and the car is perfect again. Good day I suppose, had fun at the service center chatting with all the tech’s, had my buddy with his Polo GT come in for lubrication and brake flush (this also didn't end well, and we returned immediately when I came back to check the noise, his brake pedal just went to the floor and the system had to be bled properly again). The noise from the rear is also GONE!

I would say that VW Noida did an excellent job, they did my car mostly on time, they didn't push me to replace stuff, they owned their mistake and they fixed my car making it as good as new, and gave me a discount. What else can you ask for? Shout out to Rajnish, Rahul, and Ganesh at VW - great job gents!

So this is 2nd point to be checked other than the loose exhaust mounts.

Last time the wanted me to stay longer to try with different suspension to figure out the noise from rear. Need to plan to go over day just to get this noise fixed.

The fix is quite straight forward and simple. But the technicians need to be careful to not damage the shockers when removing them and placing them back again like they did in my case. Have driven about 50-60km now and the noise is gone.

Is it like a 'dug-dug' sound from the rear you are referring to? It happens on rough patches on my car too.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

The Cockpit showed this error this morning when I started the Car. The car is now shifting to D3 straight and giving a jerk when shifting to both "D" and "R".

Model- Virtus Topline AT '22

The issue is I got some features unlocked via VCDS. RSA will pick up the later tonight.

Do you guys think it'll be an issue with the warranty claim?

Hi, what features were unlocked? Also did you go back to the coder and reset whatever was changed? In my experience simple vcds coding should not cause any transmission warnings. Do you have rat problems where you park your car? , it could just be a wiring issue. Keep us updated please.

?
I had seen this issue in a post on FB which was later diagnosed to be a case of rat bite. Just be nice to the SA when you discuss about the issue so that they dont use the coding tweaks as an excuse to run away from the issue.

Is getting a 3 month old car normal? Will there be any potential issues that I need to be aware of?

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Hello all. Great to be posting my first review on VW Virtus. Great because I am sharing something with my fellow enthusiasts although the post is out of extreme frustration with my car and the apathy displayed by VW and the service center towards the numerous problems with my car.

I have a Virtus GT since a year. I bought the car from PPS motors, Richmond road, Bangalore. And let me tell you, I had the worst delivery experience. I have put that behind me now as it is past. Nevertheless, after the delivery in a week's time, there was an electrical sensor error for which I had to take the car to PPS service center. You wouldn't believe what they said. They said the error occurred because I took my car out in the rain and that I should avoid any water coming in contact with the car! Can you believe it?? I was thinking it's okay, at least now I will get to enjoy the drive on my Virtus GT.

But guess what I found out to my dismay the steering wheel is off center and pulls towards the left. It also has a 'slackness' and is always inclined towards the left.
This has totally taken away the joy of driving. The auto start-stop never works. There is a clattering noise at low speeds. Since then I have taken my car to PPS service center several times and complained numerous times to customer care. All they do is apologize and assure me it will be resolved 'this time'. But till now the incompetent team at PPS is unable to resolve. I am not sure what to do now. Request suggestions from you all on what I should do. I had sold a brand new Creta Sxo to buy this disappointing car.

PPS service team is technically incompetent nor are they interested in resolving nor responding to my complaints. Is there any other service center in Bangalore who is competent enough to diagnose and resolve these issues?
