Haven't bought but I did enquire earlier this month, No discounts offered on the GT Plus, all offers on the 1.0 both MT & AT but biggest offers on 1.0 MT.

It comes with a 4-year factory warranty, SVP can be availed.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

One question which I have is - Does coding the infotainment system or instrument cluster and adding new features to it voids the warranty ? Some features like - lock/unlock sounds, AC controls on infotainment system, Rear DRL enable seem pretty useful to me.

Officially no one would say that it would not void the warranty, mostly its up to the dealer you deal with. Coding done for basic feature unlocks like above should not void warranty but no one will say a firm 'NO' to this. Until wires are tampered warranty should be intact.

Most of the cars are getting coded these days thanks to the 80/120 speed alarms.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

This comes at a last minute hassle for me.

While booking my Virtus, I was told I’d get the Insurance from them which would have RTI (Return to Invoice) included in it. After loan disbursement and down payment and after registration, I received the policy via email and it doesn’t have any mention of RTI. The salesperson made a mistake and telling me to delay the delivery for 2-3 more days to make sure I get a policy which has RTI added. The dealer also didn’t aware me on Key protection plan.

What should I do ? I am at the dealership right now. What are my options ?

Fortunately I tested the rear USB-C ports are fortunately wired to ignition, so I'm running a cable from the rear for the Dashcam with a right angle OTG adapater plug so that someone does not inadvertently stamp on it (I believe in Murphy's law).
- I am also thinking of using the rear USB C port for dashcam. However, could not find the power output numbers mentioned anywhere. Did it work for your dashcam?

Also, where did you get Type C-A OTG angle OTG adapter. In Amazon, the angled one are all Type c to c.

The lava blue was released a month ago. All discounts if any are only on the 2022 MY cars.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Hi Folks, recently came across this video in YouTube showing water deposit in the undercarriage of Virtus. The guy is saying that this was due to a fault in the AC drain pipe, but the amount of water that was logged there was alarming. Though going by the other videos posted by this guy, the car seemed to have been through everything; drag races, water passes in Ladakh etc. Has anyone in the forum faced it. With the rain in sight, it's scary to look at it.

Here is the video -

Pathetic experience with the VW dealership (Sanghi Classic aka Tanya Motors) in Jaipur. First they made a mistake of not adding RTI on my policy as discussed. The new policy has my name wrong. I should have taken the insurance from outside the dealership instead. I will be taking the delivery tomorrow and they will send me the correct policy on Monday. I am sitting with 2 insurance policies one of which has my name wrong and other one which doesn't have RTI and Key Protection cover.

The moment I came to know that he has driven over 45k kms in 6 months and traveled in extreme condition, I stopped watching his videos. This guy is not even close to an average Indian driver. He has stressed tested this vehicle more than any VW staff in the world. His opinions are nowhere close to the true depiction of the vehicle.

This must be due to clogged drain hole of the heat shield on which the AC condensation water drips and nothing else, these youtube people have a habit of making big issues of small things to get views. As mayank has pointed out that this car been driven for 45k kilometers in 6 months in all sorts of terrains, you require regular maintenance periodically, which includes regular cleaning of the underbody area too, you can see twigs and grass being removed from the heat shield, which might be causing the blockage.

Moreover VW group cars have underbody protection coatings(you can see the rough rubber like coating on the underside of your cars) and all the cavities of the body are filled with wax to prevent rust, which might occur due to water getting trapped in cavities.

.

Insurance policies have endorsement option which give you the facility to edit and change any details in the policy, instead of waiting for days for them to make the correction in your policy, ask them who is their policy guy, go to him directly and make him do the correction in your policy, it won't take any time.

This is not from AC but would be from a weld gap in the base of the A pillar. There was a campaign for this and it exactly indicated the same issue. This campaign was performed for my car wherein a sealant was applied along the weld seam. However I hadn't faced this issue even though my car was already through one severe monsoon.

Introducing the Volkswagen Maybach inspired Paint scheme..
Was just trying my skills in photoshop. And decided to see what how the Virtus would look in the Maybach dual tone Color tone.
It’s got mixed reviews, 45 percent liked it, the other half hated it.
I feel the Virtus looks good only in full solid metallic Color’s..dual tone only restricted to the roof being black.

You have got some great photoshop skills and a neat job done in the render.
On a lighter note, hope you are keeping this atrocity in the photoshop itself and not in real

Dashcams are not very power hungry. I have a dual channel DDPAI z40 that pulls around 1.1 amps @5v (measured). I also have a small HUD that pulls around 400 mA, and both are powered from a single rear USB C port without issues.

Yeah even I had this done during the 1000km inspection.
