The 1.5 has a sweet grunt mated to the super quick DSG, and even my 1.0 has a menacing 3-pot growl.

However, its best to drive safe in cities, since rash driving is at an all-time high.

The best time to unleash is on the highways and freeways.

During the unending Pune traffic, it feels like the brakes are holding back a beast

It's like a demon inside the car that keeps begging you to push for more.
The turbo kick is indeed addictive.

Hello good sir. Thank you for your guidance, I was able to close the deal at an OTR of 13.70 for Ahmedabad for Manual. It does not include ceramic coating or service package, but it does include the full set of 20k accessories including dashcam.

The car went through PDI and during that I was firsthand the sneaky nature of dealers even though the purchase was done via reference. The car was at their Vapi yard, and they had gotten it to Ahmedabad, and during PDI, we found out that they had driven the car from Vapi to Ahm (365 kms) and then tampered with the ODO to show 16 kms. And then started justifying it....

Anyhow, now the car is home, its been a week and i look forward to learn how to drive and enjoy the life you all are posting about

I'm about to book for a Virtus GT Line 1.0 TSI MT for my college going Son.Majorly 90% will be city driving ,I want to know mainly on 2-3 points as below as per your experience

1) What is the city Mileage you get ? (I stay in Noida)

2) Does the vehicle any time feels underpowered ?

3) This car has all required features ,nice looks & falls almost in my budget (15 lacs) but I'm concerned if we are making a right choice ...? My other vehicle is XUV 700 Diesel MT(we are family of 4)

Please guide me with your experience on these above points ...Thanks in advance

I have a 2019 Vento 1.5 TDI, now done 33,000 kms and was contemplating changing to the Virtus or something more suitable to my needs (read Korean or Jap).

In 5 years of ownership, I have only 2 grouses with the Vento, which I otherwise find to be an excellent car:

ABS light comes on every monsoon despite repeatedly replaced sensors. I've finally given up and ignore the ABS light.

The ac cooling is really poor. Calcutta touches 40 deg and a little higher in peak summer but the Vento ac cannot cope at temperatures of even 30 deg plus during the day. Rear passengers are especially uncomfortable and I find it inexcusable that in this day an age, a car would have a poor ac in a hot, tropical country. The service center says they can't do anything more with the ac.

Unlike earlier, nowadays, most of the time, my driver drives, and comfort and a chilled cabin with ventilated seats for summer months and hot days are of paramount importance to me.


Now that I have provided some context, here are my questions:

1) Has VW sorted out the ac in the Virtus or is it still weak and one has to tolerate it. Does it cool/chill in the back seat on a hot summer's day to keep rear passengers happy?

2) When it rains, does the ABS sensor light come on like the Vento?


I would appreciate some feedback as I need to book a car before the blazing summer sets in.

I would be sad to see the Vento go, but the ac performance leaves me no choice.

1. VW'S AC remains poor compared to other cars from Japanese and Korean Brands, especially the ones on the 1.0 TSI variants. No, It doesn't cool the cabin quickly enough and on a hot summer day, your rear-seat passengers won't be as happy as they would in other cars.

2. My friend who owns a 1.0 TSI has had an ABS sensor lighting up when it rains, unsure if it's a common theme among all MQB-AO-IN cars.

Now, if you are considering a sedan, I recommend you go for the Verna 1.5 DCT if you like to drive yourself or the 1.5 IVT if you are chauffeur-driven.

We have a Kushaq 1L TSI and a Virtus GT driven for almost 3 years now.

For first one, AC for all cars manufactured post June 2024 they have updated the configuration for AC and it performs better than earlier ones. But in general it take 3-4 mins and lower temperatures for VAG cars to have cooling similar to the competition. This has not been a deal breaker for us, 1L TSI Kushaq is primarily driven in Lucknow so temperatures do rise more than 45 degrees in summers.

On the second question, GT is my primary car in Pune famous for non-stop rains, I have never seen anything related to ABS sensor in my 2.5 years of ownership. On the forum too, have not seen members reporting anything related to ABS sensors as compared to the earlier PQ25 platform cars.

My friend has Polo 1.2 MT 2015 that I have used extensively, AC is bone chiller even today and here temperature during summers is easily ~43 degree Celsius

With my experience from Kushaq 1.0 MT 2023 Ambition model (touch panel Auto AC), I concluded that the AC compressor used to cut under hard acceleration or when in load. I used to switch to manual mode with minimum temperature and fingers of right hand used to get numb within few minutes.

Oh I thought that's just me observing it, happens with my Virtus GT as well. The AC compressor is just cut off under hard acceleration and high speed runs.

Hello! Yes, the issue has been fixed now.

They had to connect the car to an online diagnostic service, where the technical team from Pune analyzed the entire system code for issues. The process took a total of four days.

In the end, they reflashed the infotainment and steering system codes, which resolved the issue. However, they couldn't pinpoint the exact root cause, so they decided to reflash the entire system as a precaution.

I'm not entirely sure how this affects the steering controls. Assuming the infotainment system, steering-mounted controls, and horn share the same convenience bus for data transmission, any issue with it could potentially impact all related systems.

Check with your technician to see if reflashing the infotainment system helps. In my case, there were some firmware version mismatches, and updating them resolved the problem.

Hello, I live in Noida too and own a Virtus GT DSG. Earlier I owned a Skoda Kushaq 1.0 MT for almost 3 years.

1. Expect a mileage between 9 to 13 kmpl in Noida (city only), I regularly travel from Noida to Greater Noida via the Expressway and with a light foot I get a mileage of around 17 kmpl. So, a lot depends on how you drive, desire to always stay ahead of the traffic at rpms north of 4k can also lead to efficiency as low as 6 to 7 kmpl.

2. No, the vehicle never feels underpowered. You need the keep engine revving a bit in the 1.0 L, once the turbo kicks in, it's a beast. I have driven my Kushaq in steepest hills of Uttarakhand and HP with 5 people onboard with full luggage and it never struggled anywhere. Though you will have to see 1st gear drive in 1.0 L more often than the 1.5 L which takes most of it in the 2nd gear.

3. Choice is absolutely correct, go ahead. I have driven over 60k kms in the VAG twins since July 2021 and faced no issues (small niggles here and there don't matter to me much).

Has anyone replaced the Horn to something better like a Hella, Roots or Bosch during the warranty period. I bought a Virtus and the horn is pathetic. Checked the dealer and he is charging 4k for the part that is available at 1.5k outside. But the dealer isn't permitting and warns warranty will be void. Is that correct. Has anyone replaced it? And also I came to know when you give it outside they will have to sleeve the wire to fix the new horn. Please advise

I got my GT in Sep 2022 with the OEM horn installed together. 4k INR is the exact amount I paid that time. I would suggest to go ahead with the OEM one and try ignoring 2.5k INR saving that you are getting if done from outside.

If the car is in warranty, better keep it intact by getting the OEM horn. Outside horn will give the option to void warranty as they might cut wire. 2.5k saved here might lead to much more expenses just incase something needs to be changed under warranty later.
