Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Hello,

I have noticed a weird mild ringing sound from engine on Virtus 1.5 DSG. It's only at 300 km on ODO and the noise has been there since the day of delivery. I'll be getting it checked at service centre, however, just thought of checking with fellow owners here, to know if someone already had such instances?

https://www.reddit.com/r/CarsIndia/c...ging_sound_on/

Here I have mentioned the details and shared the video with this noise.

Thanks

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Did anyone get a chance to use an OBD based device for coding, such as Carly or OBDeleven? Want to give one of them a try to code my 2024 1.0MT Highline and also maybe the rest of our fleet.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Not sure if this has already been mentioned/discussed here, but I have been reading articles of Volkswagen India having incorporated the SFD protection in all their cars manufactured after April or May 2024.

What is SFD?

https://support.obdeleven.com/en/art...42-what-is-sfd

Apparently, coding and unlocking the hidden features on VAG cars has now become an expertise and expensive affair.

Hey, Check the information for Kushaq in the below post.

Kushaq's Preview (Skoda Kushaq | A Close Look & Preview)

The 6th photo on the above post says it is the MQ281 for the 1.5TSI. The MQ281 can handle a torque range of 200–340 Nm. They must be using the same gearbox for all the VW 2.0 cars with 1.5TSI

See post 2357. I listened to your Reddit video and feel there are some similarities to what I've experienced, although I've got an MT and the noise gets more pronounced during gear shifts (been there since delivery). I feel there's something not quite right here, but the service center will probably tell you to ignore it. Do let me know if they are able to rectify this. Thanks!

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Hi BHPians,

I recently bought VW Virtus GT DSG (not GT Plus) but I am not able to use my Volkswagen Connect and even the dealer is saying that My Volkswagen Connect is not supported for Virtus GT DSG. Is it true? Has anyone who owns Virtus GT DSG has My Volkswagen Connect from the dealer itself?

TIA!

Guys, anyone using either of these two? If not please DM contact details of anyone who can code in Hyderabad.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Folks, need to check if anyone faced similar issues already? Issue is happening since last night:

1) While I parked the car at my residence (post office return - around 9pm), I noticed that ORVMs didn't retract back when I locked the car! I unlocked/locked a few times back-to-back, no joy either. Then after sometime it did work. I thought, it was an one-off issue & forgot after dinner.
2) Well well well, morning came with another surprise. When I started the car for the school-drop trip for my son, the mirrors didn't open up when I unlocked the car. I again tried a few times locking/unlocking, no joy. Then I was getting late for school so I started the trip anyway. And I could open the mirrors by manually operating the button situated at RH door.
3) Then another issue. After starting the journey, I discovered that I cannot lower-down the Power window of the driver-door. All 3 other windows I could operate but not the one of the driver side! I anyway had no option other than to continue the journey (because of school timing issue). And after driving about 20 mins or so, I tried again and that time it worked! (i.e. I could lower down the driver-side window)
4) And by this time, I also noticed that the one-touch functionality (of the power window) is not working for the driver door. And while parking at office, the ORVMs didn't retract back as well.

So, net net, few of the electronics are not working, that too randomly. Any thoughts / advise from anyone? I have no scope to visit ASS before weekend..:-(

NOTE: My Topline AT is going to complete 1 year in January 1st week. Last month (end of Sept) one of my DRL's got changed (incidentally the driver-side one) under warranty. Other than that, everything went smooth so far

Disconnect the -ve battery terminal (plenty of youtube videos available) OR pull relevant fuses to do a hard reset. If the issue persists, it is very likely a rodent issue. Get the car scanned at the dealership even if the aforementioned jugaad works (do not tell them what you did though!!).

All the best and keep us posted!

DRL= entire headlamp I presume?

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Impressive numbers coming in for the Virtus in October 2024 sales. With 2351 units sold, it keeps getting better month on month helping VW remain consistently at number 1 in the sedan segment .

Happy to see them leading despite the shortcomings. Better looks, fairly reliable, lower maintenance, surprising better fuel efficiency and stable leadership has been the highlights along with the usual brand DNA of safety and performance. Kudos to VW .

Thanks for your inputs ashivas89.
1) Didn't face any rodent issue in our housing in last 15 years of car ownership (my earlier cars - Indica/Figo/Jazz) so if thats the case, I will be crestfallen..! :-((
2) Talked to ASS and took appointment for Saturday morning, during weekdays its not a possibility unfortunately. Will manage somehow with the faults..(hope the issues remain restricted to the listed ones only)..
3) Will surely keep you/all posted. Problem is - we only have one ASS in Kolkata and just to get a complete scan, who knows how long (hours / days) they will need..
4) And regarding the DRL issue, yes the entire headlamp was replaced - under warranty. But they took 3 days to deliver the car.

In any case, as tsi_niks1989 just posted, I am super happy that Virtus could successfully turn people's attention to Sedans once more , sales numbers are reflective of that. In my housing only there are many (pseudo)SuV buyers who after seeing my car..are thinking again..:-)

Same at my folks' place. 22 years & no rodent issue, but suddenly 2 back to back events.. Besides the effects of rodent bites take some time to manifest. Could have happened anywhere.

Hope your issue gets sorted out soon!

Hey, while you wait for your appointment, I would suggest to scan from yourself using a OBD II device. You should be able to see entire report from the time issue occured which will help you narrow down on the issue.
Hopefully it should resolve soon and it should be some issue with the battery.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Volkswagen Virtus records highest monthly sale in October.

Guess consumers are warming up to this product offering from VW group. Or it could be due to the festival discounts on offer. Either ways, as a sedan lover I am happy to see demand still exists for a segment considered to be dying a slow death. Kudos to the VW group for keeping it alive though .

Nice. How much did it cost you?
