Creta length is 4330mm vs a Verna length of 4535mm.

The 10 cm difference between the SUV and sedan models looks way more in real life. Taigun looks one size smaller than the Creta while the Virtus feels way more in the Octavia class vs the Verna.

Probably also why it is able to outsell the Verna while Taigun is (along with a host of other reasons) nowhere in competition to the Creta..
Well, as a Verna owner and a former Creta owner (cant say ex here) I beg to differ.
The Virtus doesn't look anywhere close to the Octavia - that car is both longer and wider than the C+ segment. Virtus feels exactly like it is meant to be- neither a Vento, nor a Jetta. If anything, the Verna is tad wider and sitting inside the Verna gives one the feel of a larger car because of its width. The Taigun feels smaller than the Creta for this very reason- width and also a "straight line" body design, rather than a slightly ballooned up design for the Creta.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Dear all,

I'm not yet authorized to create a thread as of today, thus writing this post as a reply. Requesting to read once and provide valuable guidance as per your experience.

I purchased Virtus 1.5 GT Plus (DSG) from Volkswagen Pune Hadapsar on July 2023. It was a good journey without any hassle. Recently done with my first service at 4.4K km. Sorry, due to multiple reasons I could not travel much.

All were routine checkups and the service was done on 29th June 2024 including a Software update to roll up driver side window(which was the only issue faced till the servicing).

Suddenly yesterday (27.07.24) while roaming around leisurely, I tried to switch on AC and roll up windows. The driver side and back right side window wasn't coming up. The keys on the driver side window suddenly felt toyish (I don't have the correct word to describe). The other 2 windows are functioning properly and the keys are also feeling ok.

I visited service center today (28.07.24) and they are telling its due to OVERUSE and FORCE applied on it the part is broken and it'd take ~4k to replace the switch panel.

I contradicted to the SA that I've driven a Maruti Swift 2015 model without any electrical hassle for 9 years and how come a 1 year old Volkswagen have such fragile switches?

After few words exchanged, they are trying to check with warranty team if it comes under warranty and subsequently they are going to replace the panel. Anyway I have to do it so I need to check if it comes under warranty.

As per the warranty brochure, there is no mention about any electrical switch malfunction under exception category so feeling a bit hopeful that I'll get it under my warranty.

Is this happened with anyone? Is there anything to worry about? This was the reason I was skeptical about buying a VAG vehicle. As a owner of Maruti I didn't face any issues as such.

Please suggest if there is any other way to get this done under warranty if they deny it.

Hello everyone,I just got tyre pressure warning, but none of the tyres seem deflated, could this be a false alarm ? Just last week I filled air to 33 psi on all tyres.

Yes it's a false alarm. I myself have faced it thrice in 4 months.

Thank you for posting this issue. I have same car and plastic especially switches' quality is not good at all even comparing to my 11 years old Honda Amaze.
I think they must include this under warranty. Please share your follow up experience here.

The inital intention was to wire to the 12V socket in the centre console, but found that it is always on. The only option was to connect to one of the USB posts below the rear AC vent. A test install went well & the cameras work fine. Now I have to route the cables properly. So, here are my questions -
  1. Does anyone know how to remove the A pillar cladding?
  2. More importantly, is there an airbag in the A pillar of the Virtus GT?

Thanks in advance.
Hi Rajan,

I also have the same problem regarding dashcam installation. Still not hardwired it, used it via 12V input but it eats battery is what I heard from my dealer. By the way, I got the cable inserted through left side pillars and one cable is extended to the 12V socket from inside/behind the glove box and into the LHS cladding of the gear box side. Inserting cable is not a problem. You can do it easily or get it done from a nearby accessory store guy.

What I wanted to ask you is, is providing the input via C-type ports from rear AC vent a feasible solution? Will it not drain the battery?

Thanks

Feels great to contribute in this count and lead

After clocking 150,000 kms on the mighty Scorpio (4.5 yrs), I took a well calculated decision to buy the Virtus GT plus in white. Planned to replace the scorpio with Scorpio N, however, these absurd policies in Delhi NCR tends to give you nightmares and uncertainity. Virtus GT was choice no 2, and, here it is.

Buying Experience: Smooth! the car was picked from VW Karnal, with some handsome discounts.

The car has clocked 1K+ kms in two weeks and its an absolute pleasure being behind the wheels. Took the most advisable upgrade (and a ritual that all my cars have undergone after the pooja ), tires, Ceats were replaced by Yoko Bluearth GTs in 225/50/16 section and the ride quality has further improved.

Future plans with the car: A ceramic coat post the monsoon, minimal cosmetics/ feature upgrades. Planning to keep the car mostly stock, but, you never know!

Yes, you read it right Scorpio covered most of the North Indian Hinterlands and central India too.

Travelling has reduced and most of it shall be on the expressways/Highways. With all the kms done so far, Virtus has shown me FE figures between 16-18 kms\Ltrs on the open roads.

The follow up experience was smooth. I just had it repaired within warranty.

When asked about the plastic quality in Volkswagen nowadays vs my old Maruti, the SA simply chuckled and said "Sir you've a 4 years warranty, don't worry."

I got mine wrapped from local 3M. I shared the pics in my previous post sometime back. Painting is too much as it needs proper color match and also needs removal of panels, that’s not the case for wrap and you can always remove if you want to restore it’s easy. However, wrapping is prone to peeling off.. so far only the door side window chrome seems to be coming off and I need to get that sorted out.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Anybody went for good quality sunfilms for Virtus?

Mine is 1.0ToplineAT and naturally AC is not its strong point. I got filming done from a local shop just after delivery (it was beginning of January this year) - they said its 3M film - but quality isn't good and its getting peeled of now (specially the driver side one - the window which is prone to repeated ups and downs).

Need to do a proper filming this time - from a good aftermarket shop - including the windshield.

Read about CR70 a lot - how much will it cost - for windshield+4 windows - should I get it done from a local shop or from 3M directly? I heard there is only 1 3M shop in Kolkata - any feedback on that?
