This is only some calculation on the Drivvo app. Best I have seen on car MID is 22 kmpl on the Hyderabad ORR.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Hello All,

I am planning to buy a virtus 1.0 tsi and have a budget of about 15 lakhs. However, the dealer has provided me with a deal for 1.5 GT plus manual at 17 Lakhs on road for a 2023 manufactured car.

Need everybody's help in deciding if this is a good deal given that its a year old car without electronically adjustable seats and amplifier.

Please suggest if its a good deal or shall I stick to 2024 1.0 tsi.

I have taken a test drive and the needle definitely swings towards to 1.5 GT, but given the niggles and spare part availability issues I have read on forums here, I am unable to make up my mind.

What all things should I consider while buying a year old manufactured car vs a current year manufactured car?

From the pricing perspective, 17L for GT+ manual is a good deal. Two things you could consider negotiating.
1. 4 years SVP
2. 2 years Extended Warranty.

I used to hate Powered seats and upon using it for a month or 2, it's proving to be more useless!
Amplifier - A Good addition and there is a good/noticeable difference with and without Amp and Sub in terms of sound quality. However, you may add an amp/sub for much lower [but additional] cost.

With what I know, Things to consider while buying a old/idle car with the dealership.
1. Flush and change the Engine oil and other fluids
2. Ask for Brake Pad replacement
3. Check and Replace Battery

Pros may add more.

Happy hunting!
Prem.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Good evening all,

Planning to buy a 1.5 dsg gt plus and have paid the booking amount. The dealer is offering a total discount of 60,000 on the ex showroom price and delivery is within 2 days.
Couple of questions for the group.
1. I've heard of cash discounts of above 1 lakh for 2024 cars. Can anyone confirm this?
2. Any other items I can push the dealer to throw in such as accessories, extended warranty etc?
3. Is the road tax on ex showroom or discounted ex showroom?
4. Can anyone help me with a pdi process / checklist please?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Is the 1.5L manual version available for a test drive anywhere in Bangalore? North Bangalore dealerships haven't been providing the manual yet.

I am in the same predicament. Both Volkswagen and Skoda dealers did not have the manual version for test drive when I had enquired earlier. Will try again now with all dealers in Bangalore. Any pointers would help as well.

My car’s on 3300 kms only and the workshop techs did everything from scraping the front pads and rotors, hooking it up on the diagnostic system (no faults reported) and even TD-ing it against a newer Virtus GT. It was so frustrating that I could feel the sizeable difference in pedal action between the two cars and even the works manager himself couldn’t! I had to come away with their assurances that there’s nothing wrong since ‘the system says so’. Aren’t there any seat-of-the-pants mechanics surviving any more? Anyone else here face a similar issue on their GT/1.0?
Hi @SUVolens, have you found a solution to the brake issue. I have a Taigun GT plus and have been facing the same problem with the brakes from 4000 kms onwards. The folks at the ASC inspected the brake pads for wear but told me everything was working fine. I am however, not convinced. The late brake bite is such an inconvenience in stop-go traffic. Many thanks.

The brake issue has been sorted. This post was many months ago, but I think topping up the brake fluid was the only thing the ASC managed to do at my insistence. Ask them to do a complete drain and refill. Hope you manage to overcome the gremlin too.

Since my speed was ~5kmph and the scooter hit me at probably like 3kmph, there was only a small scratch. But I am worried this might happen at higher speeds.

I suspect that this is a bad mapping pertaining to the brake assist module. I am also exploring as to what can be done.
Hi @apramey,

I own a Taigun GT plus and facing exactly the same issue, from around 4K kms onwards. The ASC guys had little to offer in terms of a solution. Have you managed to get a remap of the brake assist? Does it help the cause? Happy to hear how you managed to solve the problem. Many thanks!

VW Palace cross (palace cross road) was the only dealership who had 1.5GT MT for test drive before I bought my car in March. They will most probably have one now as well. You may check with them.

I think i have just gotten used to the braking pattern. The ASC people didnt help much. They said they have no provisions to change any of the brake assist parameters. Now I dont see it as much of a problem as it used to be. Now I have clocked around 17k km in my virtus GT DSG.

I did enjoy driving the Slavia 1.0 AT.
I clocked 30000 kms in less than 2 years of my ownership. Finally, I ended up selling the Slavia in mid March 2024.
You practically got an engine upgrade, not many would do that. Wish you clock many happy miles to justify that. Congrats!

You may be the right person to answer this, from my gym circle I'm getting reports that 1.0TSI gives relatively less mileage than 1.5TSI. Of course, both engines aren't owned by the same person. But there are 3 1.0TSI and they all give similar mileage in the city. Unless the 1.5TSI is driven in a very sedate manner, it only indicates to the poor efficiency of 1.0TSI. Please keep us posted.

Thanks!

Slavia 1.0 AT in city was around 10 kmpl depending upon the traffic conditions. And initial couple of road trips I got 13-14 kmpl and after 20k kms it started to give better mileage on highways. When driving around 100-110 kmph, I was getting 15-17kmpl.

Its still early days for my Virtus 1.5 -- I have only been using XP95 ever since I purchase and I am tracking the fuel expenses on Drivvo.
Initial 3 tankful's I got 9.8 kmpl and slowly it has increased to 10.8 kmpl now.

I have done a weekend getaway from Hyd to Srisailam and got around 14 kmpl. Its very difficult to drive this car with a light foot, but if we do, we can extract better mileage than the 1L AT.

I will share my observations in my future posts.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

How is the "Auto Wiper" supposed to work? I see that the setting is enabled from the "Car Settings" in Touch Screen panel of the car. Yet, I dont see the Wipers kicking in while raining.

Thanks in advance.

Please check that the wiper setting is at level 1 on the lever at the back of steering.

Level 0 - Wiper does not move
Level 1 - Wiper automatically moves on sensing rain
Level (-1) - Just a single swipe incase you need to clean adhoc
