Hi, I’ve been facing the same issue. I reckon it is due to the latest iOS update and Apple will probably fix it in the next few months with patch updates.

I checked with SA & they’re not confident in retrofitting to earlier models.

For the Amplifier & Subwoofer fitment, they said they can confirm possibility for retrofitting once they receive part numbers and a car fitted with these.

I personally liked the GT+ dual tone roof, black ORVMs, trunk lip spoiler. Bought black ORVM caps & lip spoiler as accessories from dealer but they’re not doing any roof wrap from their end and that’s why I wanted to get a wrap from outside.

Didn’t like the black alloys though.

Thanks for highlighting the AC performance, I was under impression this is resolved in newer batches but I too noticed weak performance in mine.
Probably will skip the black roof.

HP Power is just 91 octane with additives.
The fuel lid of my Virtus says 95 RON recommended and minimum 91 RON. The RON and octane are not the same thing. If you do some research you can understand 95 RON is roughly equivalent to 91 octane petrol. Which is same as normal unleaded petrol sold in India. Don't get confused between RON value and Octane. Two different things.

RON means Research Octane Number. What you've stated 95 RON being equal to 91 octane is true only in USA and Brazil as they use AKI. Rest of world uses RON, so 95 RON stated on fuel cap means 95 Octane not 91 Octane in India.
So for VAG cars, use normal 91 octane petrol occasionally only as per car manual.

Nearby IOCL pumps to me are having adulterated fuel both in the city & in native.

So I asked SA which one would he suggest in this regard, he said me to go with Shell/Nayara if I have nearby and continue filling with same quality fuel as we started with them.

PS: The team at showroom suggested Shell Normal grade would be sufficient & V-Power is not mandatory.

One of our friends here & I are confused which petrol to be used as Shell didn’t mention if it’s a 95 or something.

However, I started my 1st fill with Shell V-Power for 20 litres & I have a long trip planned tomorrow.

Is Shell Normal or V-Power is good to use continuously?

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

I think it is better to use 91 RON petrol from a dependable company like shell than 95 RON with unknown impurities like in xp95.
Some person close to the IOCL can enlighten us more about alleged impurities and advantage of COCO pumps if any.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Hi gurus, I am back with a few basic functions about Virtus which I am unable to figure out for the life of me. I own Topend 1.0 (Digital cluster)

1. How to mute / unmute from steering wheel while driving?
2. How to answer a call and disconnect a call from the steering wheel controls?
3. How do I stop the super distracting speed warnings?
4. How to add /remove the default apps that come with the system?
5. What's the Volkswagen app store and why is it showing I have no apps?
6. Any solution for the making the auto AC better? It's not cooling well with two adults and two children. Also, possible to eliminate the hissing sound that AC makes?

I may have more as I settle in with the car, but this is a good list to start with. Looking forward to some inputs from fellow members.

Congratulations on your new ride!
Here are my 2 cents:

1. AFAIK there’s no provision way to mute/unmute from the steering wheel.
2 Use the OK button
3. Didn’t find a way to do this through the standard controls. May require coding.
4. and 5. Download the My VW Connect app from the playstore. Note: there are 2 separate apps so you will need to check and download the latest one. The dealer needs to help with updating your details so you can start using the app.
6. The AC is underwhelming. About the hissing sound, I believe there was a software update that seems to have addressed it. Now the hissing sound is usually when you start the vehicle. That’s what the service center guy confirmed.

Happy miles!

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

I never till date used the 12v socket or the rear USB-C ports. When I tried them now, I could observe that 12v socket and the rear USB-C ports does not charge a phone, in short its not working. The front 2 for the infotainment works fine though.

Checked all fuses, everything is fine. I am just thinking if I replaced one for these 3 when hardwiring the dashcam to the fusebox(70mai, plug and play). Does anyone have the fuse diagram or any info why this is happening?

Thanks a ton Maverick81. I am able to answer calls via the OK button but unable to disconnect. Any way of disconnecting the calls?

Also, is there a play/pause button available? Any way to assign a function to the steering wheel buttons? (There's one which shows no function).

On the coding bit, are there any reliable folks that people on this forum have tried? I am based in Bangalore if that helps.

These errors are simple communication faults. Happens now and then and are no cause for worry. It's like your car woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Yesterday saw in the latest Virtus/Taigun with electric seats & subwoofer/amp in the VW showroom/yard. I sat in the Taigun since it had the key, and the music system sounds so much good now, it's amazing! It must be the same in Virtus too.

But the subwoofer is fitted in place of the toolkit on top of the spare tyre, and the toolkit in now a separate bag placed in the boot stuck to the carpet with a velcro.
It just feels like additional baggage in the boot!

Please throw more clarity on this. The TSI engine used in India is same as TSI used in Brazil I presume. Would they mention 95RON in India specific car if what they need is actually 95 octane. Also, I doubt IOC or BP mentionas RON figures anywhere in the spec. They just mention octane number. Also won't service centres clearly advice to use high octane petrol to avoid long term issues and suffer warranty claims. It's better to write to VW and clairify this and assume and unnecessarily suffer high fuel costs I feel.
