There is a recall program active for the driver side motor replacement. Call your SC and verify if yours qualifies for it. Once replaced, it works just fine.

Re: Skoda Slavia Review

Did 270 kms of highway driving over the weekend. The Slavia felt great, very comfortable. The high ground clearance ensures no underbody scrapes.

I was discovering the Auto through the multiple modes and the paddle shifters.
Shifting to paddles ensures engine RPM can be kept at 3000+ to ensure the torque was on tap while overtaking.
I shifted back to D/S while cruising.

But the most irritating bit is the speed warning beeps @80 & 120kmph. Very distracting as I was trying to keep to 118 and had to keep looking at the speedo.

Re: Skoda Slavia Review

Defective Horn in Slavia

I have a Slavia 1.0 MT since September 2022. The car has been a delight to drive on city roads as well as highways since then. The only spoilsport in the past years has been the horn. It has been sounding funny right after 3 months of car purchase. It is so weak at times that I feel ashamed of blowing it in public. The Skoda service guys cleaned the thimble, tuned the horn & even replaced the horn itself over the years, but in vain. I was told by the service guys that Slavia doesn't have a horn relay, so the issue cant be rectified.

The irony is that the horn sounds crisp when the car is stationary. It only starts misbehaving after 4-5 minutes of driving and sounds dead thereafter.

The cause stated might well be true. I have observed in my Hondas too (Both Civic and the City) that the horn modulation at times changes with the amount of current it receives in normal course of driving. If while blowing the horn, the AC compressor decides to cut-off or start running, the horn will have a definite change in its pitch. Not exactly embarrassing but definitely noticeable. I think this can be sorted by adding a relay.

Regards.

Easy fix for this, just get it coded.

Chimes are mandated by the govt. Not advised to play with it illegally.

I have 1.5 DSG Slavia 2023 model, and I have changed my horn from ASC itself in Pune from Garve motors. So ideally its possible to atleast change the horn.

I had the same problem in my civic also. Never got it rectified somehow as it never struck me that it was because of this. Thanks for bringing it to attention

Hey. I just spotted your car in Moti Nagar, in front of a banquet.
I am temporarily living in DLF CG nearby and i was in my Slavia.

And ironically i too came from indore to Delhi last week via the same route from Kota though.

I got a good 21.3 KMPL with mild conservative driving in my 1.0 AT.

Why are you selling your car? It’s a good buy and fun too. Only efficiency can pinch in dense traffic.

Hey, I was catching up with BHPians from Delhi @ House of Espresso. BHPian Lego28 resides in the same complex.

I have relocated to Mumbai for good. I don’t have the use case for Slavia anymore, the long clutch travel ensures it stays parked most of the time. Barely drove it in last 6-months.

Hey, do you mind sharing the cost for horn upgrade? I wanted to get it changed prior to taking delivery but the Garve guys said that the trumpet horn is out of stock. I need to follow up on that again and also make sure they are consistent with the price. So just checking.

I am also not a fan of the lock/unlock chime. Was hoping to disable it but I guess it needs to be done through coding.

Re: Skoda Slavia Review

I own a Skoda Slavia 1.0 AT and always use 95 octane fuel. However, when I can't find a pump offering 95 octane, I reluctantly fill up with 91 octane. The difference in performance is immediate gear shifts become more noticeable, and the car no longer feels like the one I love driving.

Fellow BHPians, I've read about octane boosters and was wondering if anyone here uses them. If so, which product would you recommend? Also, do they have any negative impact on the engine?
