I want to add something to post #1729 - the "KIA CARENS review" thread by "ant_vas". Even I have faced the same rusting issue 2 times. The first time I noticed was in DEC-23, Kia fixed it on warranty in JAN/FEB-24, but after 8-9 months the issue has popped up again in the same spot. I have to report it again and get it fixed again. This is a clear design flaw if anyone can notice in the picture. I am adding the link and photos for your reference.
All Kia Carens owners should check for this and verify it they also have the same issue. If the issue is seen in other's Carens, then we can demand Kia to act on this to provide a permanent solution may be by recalling and replacing that panel with a different panel with new design which doesn't retain the water

I say there is a design flaw from Kia as there is space for water from rain or washing to stagnate and lead to rusting on the left side.

The right side of this space doesnt have this issue and the water / fuel flows out easily
I had the same issue and ended up paying out of my pocket for a repaint. But after just 3-4 months, the problem has returned. This time, I'm going to take it up with them. My car is a 2022 Prestige Plus Diesel.

This was my first long trip in my Carens. Until now I have driven it in city conditions only where I was getting a mileage between 6 to 6.8 kmpl. I was very apprehensive of this.

On a long trip the mileage was very impressive. It was in the range of 16.7 kmpl.

But, contrary to this, there would be nothing like that if Kia team can do something on mileage in city driving conditions.

I have attached pictures of odometer reading as a reference.

Re: Mileaage of Kia Carens

Kia Carens is a car for the highways. I have the Prestige Plus O DCT bought it couple of months ago. The city mileage is between 8.5 to 10.5 kmpl for me depending on the traffic and the distance driven. On highway I have got between 16-18 kmpl. The ride is very comfortable. I agree that if Kia can tune the car for better city mileage, that would be awesome.

The highest I've got in highways is 22. That is without fully pushing the pedal for quite some time. If I drive it a little aggressively I get 16-18 which is a good number. Our's is a diesel IMT. In city with traffic we get around 11-15.

Re: Kia Carens Review

I don’t know if this helps but I have 3-4 times a week drive of 30 kms city + 70 kms highway. And for the entire 100 kms round trip if I keep it under 100 kmph then I get an average mileage of 17-18 km/l.

I have a Kia Carens Luxury Plus Diesel AT.

I have done 43k kms till date.

Re: Kia Carens Review

I've clocked 52K kms on my Prestige Plus Diesel MT, and it's time to replace the tires. The dealer is recommending Goodyear, but I'm considering Michelin with the same profile. I'd really appreciate any input or advice from fellow BHPians. Thanks!

Re: Kia Carens Review

We are planning to buy Caren’s prestige plus diesel.
My running is between 6K to 7K per year, mostly on highways.
We are selecting diesel mainly because of the possible DCT issues in the future.
Need inputs from folks on the audio quality on the prestige plus.

We have been quoted
20.3 lakhs - prestige plus optional
23.3 lakhs - luxury plus optional

Is there room for better discount , need you inputs here. I am guessing considering the year end discounts should be deeper. Any insights on discounts would be very appreciated.

Thank you all.

Dealers typically do not have lot of Carens in their stock as it sells in decent numbers.

You might be able to get some discount in December 2024 or February 2025 for MY 2024 Carens Prestige Plus diesel which dealer has in their stockyard. You will need to be open to accept any color that is available or be open to take another variant. If you want a specific color and variant, then yearend deals are a gamble as you may or may not find the car of your choice and color available.

I had asked for MY2023 Carens availability after looking at ads on Instagram in Feb 2024. Only 1 dealer out of 3-4 dealers I had reached out to had MY2023 Carens in their inventory by Feb 2024. The dealer was ready to give ₹60k discount on on-road price on Luxury Plus iMT Carens in Grey color to me if I booked it immediately.

My carens is 2022 June model. I haven't faced this issue so far. And one thing I always follow when washing the car is to blow away any water with a blower and clean the fuel inlet with a microfiber towel. However we can't do anything with the rain water getting into the fuel inlet though.

Re: Kia Carens Review

Hello All,
I am hoping to pick up Carens by this month end. Ours will be the prestige plus optional - Diesel AT.
I am reading several reviews that the headlamps need to be replaced as the throw is really bad.
I am planning to get fog lights installed and headlamps replaced.
Any recommendations please share, would it be good to get this done by showroom itself before taking the delivery. Are the showroom provided headlights worth it or should I get it done outside. Would I void warranty if I do this aftermarket ?

I think Kia is providing their own branded LED lights. No clue about them. I have got Blaupunkt 110W V19 LED Pro HP H19 installed from a local accessories shop. These were the only H19 type socket lights which were available when I got them installed 2 years back. No warranty issue as these are just plug and play and require no cutting of any wire.

Most of the SAs are not well informed. Only the service managers have the required knowledge to clarify these. Thats how I got clarity in my case, through the Service Manager.
mine is iMT, I used to get the beeps AND downgear number both before this update messed it up
