I there a software update available? I didn’t know about this, I’m done with the first service but wasn’t informed about anything.

I got my service done in April and was informed that an update is available but they didn’t do the update as they had some issues with the usb a to c adapter etc. now they tell me that some people have had minor issues while/post update pan india. So they want to be sure that if things go south during the update, they know what to do. They have suggested to wait for some time till they have more clarity.

Any idea what updates are part of this?
I got my 6 month check up done in early April and they did say that they will check if there are any updates but did not hear back anything specific on either if they updated something or not. ASIK it seems to be the same and no issues.

Sorry for the delayed response. Am not sure what the specific updates are, the only thing I was told is that it’s an update for the infotainment system. Will post more once I get the green light from the service station for getting the update.

Yes indeed there is an update for the info system but my SA said that it is only for a few identified chassis numbers. They are awaiting further implementation details from VW before rollout to relevant vehicles.

Re: 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan Facelift Review

So the RDE compliant Tiguan and Kodiaq are not E20 compliant.

Should I still consider buying one? Or should I wait it out and hope for a change down the road.

My alternate plan is to buy the new Seltos (expected in a few months).

No Diesel and not ready for electric.

Thanks...

Any reason for not considering the Tucson? The engine isn't great but the car overall is a great all rounder - much superior to the seltos.

Personally I am not sure of how the govt will roll out E20 fuel. Many pumps that sell E20 fuel are allowing buyers to choose at the moment, and I expect it to continue in this manner in the near future.
However if they will completely stop E10 after a few years, it could impact the performance and warranty of the Tiguan which is a risk factor for me if keeping the car for a long time.

Are these pumps selling E20 for a cheaper price?

I consider myself a passionate driver and the 2.0 NA Tucson petrol leaves me a bit wanting. The Diesel in turn is a powerhouse. In fact, I am just going to test drive the Alcazar, I understand that its quite a peppy machine with its new 1.5 gdi. But I see myself waiting for a bit more as my heart is set on a bigger machine.

I don't know. I don't have an E20 vehicle to even ask at pumps.

The most prominent miss seems to be E20 compliance! Any word on that from VW India?

Likewise, I got my 1 year service done end April, i was told there are some new updates coming up and we'll be notified once available. I'm yet to hear from VW folks

Sure about this? I thought the facelift was RDE and E20 compliant just like Virtus and Taigun?

Pretty sure. In fact, even the Kodiaq is RDE compliant, but the fuel lid only says E5 - E10 petrol. I am planning to buy the Seltos, alternatively the new generation Tiguan should reach us sometime in 2024 as will the new Kodiaq, both should be E20 ready. I have waited too long and need a new car.

Would recommend the Diesel Tucson to you, fabulous.
