Would like to know how did they connect the horn harness to the stock connector (marked Green)

And any idea what the blanked connector nearby? (marked Yellow). My car also has similar connection and it seems like coming from the same horn harness. Is it by any chance connection for a low tone and hyundai being hyundai didn't install a horn for cutting cost?

Thanks, where does i20 N Line stand with XUV 3X0 (MX2 pro variant) maybe to compare?

We were also in the market for a car under 15L OTR in KL. Though we didnt consider XUV 3X0 (or Nexon), I test drove every other car in the price bracket and some above it. Other than the jimny alpha at (was under 15L otr with all the discounts) the only car that I really liked was i20 N line, in the 15L price bracket. All other cars felt vanilla in comparison. I would take i20N line just for its suspension and handling alone and the engine only makes the deal sweeter, though I wish it had a better top end and a free revving nature, with quicker DCT.

But the car was for my brother who has just learnt driving and is going to be his first car. He didn’t really like the interior of i20 Nline which is little plane and characterless compared to let’s say a Sonet. I was not able to convince him about the handling and how it has got those dual tip exhausts :uncontrol. Finally, we booked the Sonet dct with the same 1L engine, which makes total sense for my brother and ticks all the boxes for what he wants from a car. Awaiting delivery now.

At the end of the day it all comes down to what you really want from your car. If it’s driving pleasure then I don’t think any car can beat the handling of nline at the price bracket you are looking. It’s the best handling car I have driven till date. My ecosport felt like a boat after i test drove i20Nline.

I had seen your post in the Altroz Racer thread, Didn't you go for the Slavia 1.5 MT?
Or was it already discontinued by the time you made your decision :disappointed

The Skoda/VW discounts have brought great cars around 15L mark.

I actually test drove the Slavia MT which was available in Spinny. My brother didn’t really want to get a used car for a first car, and brand new Virtus or Slavia were out of budget, plus an automatic was the priority. So finally booked the Sonet DCT with 1L TDGi. Jimny was never considered ever, but then the discounts felt sweet so took a test drive and I was sold!

There were discounts available on demo cars and year old cars but there were only little discounts on new cars and even the base 1.5 Slavia (or Virtus gt) costed around 20L OTR here in Kerala.

Was not able to find a manual for TD, everyone seems to have only the DCT.

Is the lag better contained in the manual i20 Nline?

I test drove the DCT since they didn't have a manual variant for TD, and the lag was a bit too much in the DCT at starting RPMs.

It could also be because it was a showroom car.

I also drove the Virtus 1.0 Manual, but the lag wasn't as much as the i20 NLine DCT.

It is. I test drove the DCT because no dealer nearby had a manual test drive car, not even a display car for that matter. Found the DCT to be quite laggy. Still believed that the manual would be better and went ahead with the purchase. The manual is absolutely much more responsive especially in the first 2 gears. It will push you back in the seat once the rpm crosses 2k and there is always wheel spin if you do the 1>2 shift aggressively

For all owners, what does one switch up to from this car? I'm finding it hard to think of options considering there is nothing between the Verna/Virtus and A4/Camry. Yet even these options would not have factory tuned suspension/ steering/ exhaust.

What is a "true" upgrade? It is an insanely fun car but I want to know what the options are :D.

P.S: not considering SUVs/ Creta N-line

I agree with Speedracer47's thoughts. I also TD'ed the DCT and certainly had it in the back of my head that the MT would be even better. It is very easy to modulate and control the lag in the MT, there is an ever so slight lag if you try and punch it at extremely low rpm's in 2nd, but other than that, I am very content with how this engine performs on the i20NL.

I have the I20 N Line manual 2023 model and i have blanked connector as well. I don't think it is for the horn even though Hyundai is known for their cost cutting. When i tried to upgrade my horn, my local mechanic told me that it is the airbag sensor and that was believable considering the location. I didn't want to accidentally set off the airbags by fiddling it with them so i left it aside. I would like to just triple check once again if anyone knows what that is before i order the connector for the high pitch horn.

In my Hyundai i20 N Line manual, i have the same blank connector which stems from the same wiring harness. My local mechanic told me it is the airbag sensor which does make sense, however i do wanna triple check and find out if it is actually the same. Were you able to find out the connector was?

After a year and half of ownership of the Nline i20, I found myself in the same position, ended up booking a progressive red A4 technology. :)

In other news, I recently faced the much feared DCT gearbox failure on 11th November. The car was being driven on the highway at around 65-70kmph when suddenly the car refused to move ahead or shift to a lower gear to accelerate but the engine revved freely when pressing the accelerator. Within seconds the transmission heating warning was displayed on the car MID after which I parked the car in the service lane and promptly called my service advisor who pushed me to opt for RSA by Hyundai.

After calling the Hyundai RSA helpline and verifying my ownership of the car via my mobile number, and the chassis number I was sent a link requesting my live location which I gave permission to and was requested to wait for 75 mins as that is the minimum time it takes for towing to be arranged.

To my pleasant surprise the towing personnel was on ground near my location and reached within 60 mins of my first call. He was instructed to have the car towed to the nearest Hyundai authorised service centre which was Pubjab Hyundai in Gandhinagar about 7kms away. However my service history of all the Hyundai vehicles I have owned has been Concept Hyundai in Ahmedabad which is where I wanted my vehicle to be diagnosed as well, so had to pay a modest 2000rs difference amount as per distance from my pocket which is reasonable in my opinion.

Once the vehicle was received at Concept Hyundai around 5:30 pm they refused to start the work on my vehicle or issue a job card since apparently their system doesn’t take new entries post 5pm. However the floor manager promised my vehicle would be their first priority the next morning. After about two days of diagnosing they have narrowed down the fault to a broken clutch bearing which resulted in the DSG gearbox failure.

I had opted for the extended car warranty, as well as the DCT warranty package. To my utter disbelief employee at Concept told me that none of these faults are covered under Hyundai warranty policy but due to my regular history with Concept they have agreed to cover all the expenses under goodwill, which means I don’t have to pay for the repairs at the end of the day.

They have requested me to wait for 15-20 days as the necessary parts will have to be sourced from overseas by Hyundai India.

At the end of it all, I am left with a slightly confusing but satisfying experience as the RSA was prompt as should be, Hyundai India doesn’t cover these under warranty, and Concept has offered to cover it under goodwill.

I’ll keep this thread updated as my car’s repair work progresses.

What is even the point of the extended (or regular) warranty if it doesn't cover DCT parts? Hyundai India really needs to take accountability for these broken DCTs if they ever happen, even outside the warranty period. Thanks for sharing, and do keep us updated.

Have noticed the headlights has gone really dim, both high and low beam. Anyone upgraded these to aftermarket lamps?

Hi all,

I've posted my 10000 kms update here -

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/hatch...ml#post5886216

Helpful if you're curious about expressway fuel efficiency of the MT.

Just wanted to know how much mileage everyone is getting. Mine is 2023 N8 iMT giving 10-11 kmpl.

Using IOCL normal petrol from a single pump and mostly city. I mostly drive decently keeping the RPM under 4K.

Any issues with car or everyone is on same page? Can the Service guys help with this?
