My friends decided to gift me an exhaust modification on my birthday.

I ordered the Borla Pro-XS muffler, did not look around much for other options as a colleague at work already had this fitted to this i20NL, and I was familiar with the sound of it.

Once the muffler arrived, I went to Silencer House in CP for the fitment.

It took about 1.5-2 hours to complete the job, they also attended to a couple of other customers with smaller jobs in the middle, so could have been done quicker but I didn't really mind.

The muffler was changed, resonator removed, and MS piping used, connected via a flange available at the catalytic convertor exit.

The cost breakup is below, for those interested -

1. Muffler - 17k
2. Tips - 7k
3. Piping & labour - 8k

There is a slight drone at normal throttle, I think primarily due to removing the resonator. But I'm getting used to it, and the sound on smashing the throttle compensates for it well.

Sounds great! I want to get the exhaust changed on my Honda City 4th Gen too! Waiting for the warranty period to finish in 2 years. I'm a big fan of sleeper cars.

1300 kms and 1st service update

Naagin completes 1300km in ~1 month

Well the car has performed flawlessly as expected with no complaints whatsoever. The steering and ride are well sorted and it tackles Mumbai’s roads with aplomb. Minor battle scars (a tribute to Mumbai’s traffic) have cropped up but nothing which breaks my heart. I didn’t go for a ceramic coating or PPF as I didn’t agree with their value proposition for a small hatchback.

One thing which could be improved is the headlight throw and intensity. It feels a tad anemic especially in torrential rains. The tyres (despite what others had to say about them) are satisfactory and perform city duties well.

Four things which I really like in the N-Line are:
- The engine which pulls brilliantly for a small hatchback
- The paddle shifters which are a delight when one feels a little itch for spirited driving
- The BOSE music system which performs spectacularly well at this price point
- The bassy note of the exhaust which growls a little on cold starts

I had the 1st servicing done at Shreenath Motors and was satisfied with their professionalism and courteousness. The 1st service doesn’t entail anything noteworthy but it’s rather a checkpoint in the vehicle’s overall journey.

Overall I for one am a satisfied N-Line owner and am happy with my purchase

Hi, I am in the market looking for a first car under 12 lakhs. I looked at all available options and finally zeroed in on i20N line N6 Manual vs i10 Asta Manual.

However, confused in choosing one here.

Any suggestions from the overall ownership perspective?

There's simply no comparison. The N Line is a pocket rocket, offering a much more thrilling drive than the i10. Its suspension is a bit stiffer, so one might feel the rougher roads more. However, I would choose a stiffer setup any day of the week.

Has anyone upgraded horns in i20 N line? The stock horn is very weak and sounds kinda funny.

The issue with the aftermarket hon is the connector. Stock horn is not with the flat pin(thimble) like connector like in the aftermarket. Most of the installers and youtube videos shows pushing wires inside the stock connector and securing with insulation tape, Which I don't think is safe and doesn't want to do

Anybody has any idea where can I source a suitable connector for connecting aftermarket horns in the i20?

Hi Vaisakhr!

It is for this exact reason that i changed the horn on my Venue, which has the same single horn mechanism. I requested the service centre to convert it to Hella Trumpet dual tones for about Rs. 1,800, which comes with the complete relay set and wiring, and which does not tamper/damage the existing wiring. It is a quick job once they remove the front bumper. They also assured me that there will be no issues with vehicle warranty as it is billed and fitted by the service centre. I am yet to get the conversion done for my NLine and will probably get it done when i drop it off for service.

One issue you may note - if you go ahead with the Hella or Roots dual tone horns, is to ensure that the horn is tightened with the sound outlet facing down, as otherwise, water tends to seep into it, given the shape.
