Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi folks,

Need a suggestion for wiper blades replacement on my Xuv 700. NES that came with the car lasted for two years and I was happy with the performance as well. Has anyone tried the OEM options available in Boodmo as the RHD side dimensions are 19inch as per the website and actual ones are 15 inch. I had tried fixing the new Michelin flat wiper blades from Amazon which is called multifit but none of the optional adaptors fit xuv 700.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hey Folks, had a bit of a crap luck on a monday morning while driving to office. In extremely slow driving conditions a tractor trolley hit me from behind when I slowed down cause of traffic in front. There was also a AEB warning along with my braking but speed was anyways <20kmph. need to see read cam footage but tractor couldnt brake and I felt a decent impact. Upon inspection the damage looked fairly low vs my worst case expectations.

Traffic police showed up and tractor guy knowing his mistake was being apologetic. After some discussion I let it be since there was no point trying to extract money from the poor fellow. However he was driving tractor with LMV license and I am sure traffic cops gave him some grief. I took pictures and left the spot. On reaching office I completely opened the tail gate and then saw the real damage. Initially I thought maybe plastic tail gate was the reason there was no damage but I was wrong.

Damage from outside. Logo damaged and some reflector housing broken in bumper.

On completely raising the tailgate is saw extent of damage

Will have to go to body shop now i guess. My entire ownership of XUV500 never had a body shop visit and this one will see within first 3months :(

Hope @rpmmachine and @carophile problems are sorted and I can feel the agony what you must be going through. However, the commonality seems to be that both their vehicles are 2021 make. Are these issues being faced by owners who are having 2024 makes?

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi Guys, I recently gave my car for it's 30k service and found the bill to be quite expensive. My car is a Diesel Auto. Has everyone else got the same costs for a 30k service?

Do note that I have already paid the bill but I just want to know if there's something amiss that I can check for in future services

You are billed a little more than expected because you did not check the work being done is either a "nicety" sold by ASC or it was part of SOP. A lot of work is done - brake pads replaced, fluids replaced, engine oil and filter changes, etc. So thats valid work and cost. Driver pick up and drop, Coatings and cleaning - is entirely your choice! Brake bleeding - thats must do and should not be charged to you - they changed the pads, they must bleed it! It should be part of brake pad replacement labour charges.

In general I would say a 2-3 K could have been easily avoided. And Rs. 8500 or so you contributed to nation building (GST)

Well I made my case to Service Supervisor who seemed to understand and assured he would put it up with MnM to get covered under warranty. Awaiting the confirmation.

AFAIR, there was a recall early last year to change the Lower control arm which had modifications to accommodate bigger dia bush and rear bush sleeve.

My vehicle was not in recall list but there is no reason not to be so I pressed service person on this. At least this would not be charged to me. Lets see how it turns out for other parts.

Would certainly share the journey through the ordeal

Update on the Issues with My XUV700

I am deeply saddened to share my recent experience with Mahindra Punj Autos. My car was with them for three days, during which they were able to address only the coolant hose issue. Unfortunately, the car was returned with a significant scratch, with paint ripped off the boot door, and the boot door itself misaligned.

Thankfully, I had a video of the car being handed over to Mahindra RSA, as the service center initially denied any responsibility. After presenting the video, the service manager acknowledged the damage and asked me to bring the car back to have it fixed.

Please make sure to make a proper video of your vehicle while sending it with RSA.

The software update was not completed during the three days my car was in their care, as they were reportedly busy with other customers. As a result, I am still facing issues with Apple CarPlay, even three years after purchase.
The AC actuator failure, which seems to be a common issue across Mahindra cars using the same AC units (including the XUV300 and Scorpio N), was addressed under warranty. However, after the replacement, the AC continued to blow only hot air. Despite trying all possible solutions, including restarting the car and disconnecting the battery, the issue persisted. Surprisingly, on the second day, after a cold start, the AC began working again.Regarding the DEF error, the service center informed me that since the error was not currently present, there was nothing they could do unless it reoccurs.

I have raised a complaint about all these issues, and the service team has requested to keep my car for at least two more days to address everything. I regret to say that my overall experience has been disappointing. Whether it’s the deteriorating quality of Mahindra’s service or an unfortunate encounter on my part. Having owned cars from Nissan, Hyundai, and Toyota, I have never encountered service issues like these. I strongly recommend anyone considering a Mahindra vehicle to visit their service centers and speak with other owners to get a clear picture before making a decision. I have seen multiple cars being towed to the service center and many owners frustrated by similar problems.

I will drop off my car again today and provide an update on this later.

Hi Guys,

I'm facing the same above mentioned "U1055 GATEWAY/MGM Message Timeout" error in Settings >> Engineering Menu >> Read DTC

I've lost the esim network at around 9000 Kms, I have tried disconnecting the battery and reconnected after 20+ minutes but never got the network back.

Went for 10000 Kms service, they have updated the Adrenox software version from 10.32.62 to 10.41.61 multiple times and they have flashed Silverbox multiple times but still no luck with the e-sim network.

Service centre support team were saying that they have to open the dashboard to check if there any issues with Silverbox electrical wiring but I don't think that would be the issue, apart from the loss of e-sim network signal, I do not have any other issue with Adrenox. I'm not sure what to do, please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thank you!

In the interest of all XUV 700 Diesel owners - Update

The E11/E12 DEF quality error on my XUV700 was resolved by the Mahindra service center (AMPL Guindy - chennai). The service technicians were attentive and worked throughout the day to address the issue. AGM Parthiban provided excellent support, ensuring the resolution was given top priority.

The charges were around 3k that included Labour Code 1802 for draining and refilling the DEF tank and refilling fresh 20 liters of DEF. That said, I still have questions about why this error happened when the DEF density was within the acceptable range and there were no visible issues like cable cuts or other system faults.

Steps Followed by the Service Center to Resolve E11 and E12 DEF Quality Issue error Alert:

1. The vehicle was lifted, and the DEF tank, part of the DEF assembly, was checked, including its wiring.

2. Then a sample of DEF from the tank was tested using a density meter.

3. My vehicle's existing DEF density was found to be 32.5%, which falls within Mahindra's specifications (31.8%–33.2% urea content) and it looked clean.

4. Then the software was reset, and a 30-minute test drive was conducted at approximately 60 km/h to check if the error resolved, but the error remained.

5. Next , the DEF tank was emptied, and fresh 6 litres DEF was refilled.

6. Again the vehicle was driven for another hour to confirm if the error was resolved. My good luck , This step successfully resolved the issue

The DEF pump assembly would have been inspected if the error had not been resolved. As per then, typically, unresolved issues at this stage result in replacing the DEF pump assembly. Def assembly approximately will cost Rs.40 to 50k

Which ASC in Mumbai is handling this?

Hope, in that case , the DEF assembly would have been covered under warranty.

Yes, they mentioned that it would be covered and were collecting snapshots of each step as per the SOP. This is a requirement from Mahindra to ensure that all necessary steps are followed by the service center before deciding to replace the DEF assembly.

Aftermarket Accessories installed on my XUV 700

The car looks the prettiest when naked. Installed some essentials aftermarket :

Shastri Market, Indore
Aftermarket in Indore, you can get the best of the brands at competitive prices. Just do some bargaining as lot of shops selling same products.

From Crown Car decor Indore
7D Mat - Auto tech ₹5100
Sun/Rain visor - Galio ₹1450
(Both of the products are identical to Mahindra genuine accessories and probably the best available in the aftermarket)

Other shops
Body cover - ₹1600 ( Brand: Supramax Size:10) decent quality
USB to C type cable - ₹100
360 Phone stand - ₹350
Number Plate protector - ₹400
Seat mat/ galicha - ₹650

From Amazon
Screen protector - https://amzn.in/d/f9SCmKa
Key Chain - https://amzn.in/d/cE6iUFp
Diesel sticker - https://amzn.in/d/1EFfTKP

I am also using 3M Car Glass Cleaner regularly for cleaning windows. Its too good. Remove smudges and spots.
Also, used 3M Specialty Cream wax. One pack of 220 gms lasts 2-3 applications. Restores shine. Use gloves if applying by hand and wear a mask.

I might install footrest in the future. I am keen on getting a steel rear bumper but not sure whether the company has any for Diesel with Urea variants. I enquired aftermarket with Mtek in Indore and they replied they have not yet produced bumpers for Diesel urea variants.

Would appreciate suggestions on accessories, gadgets that will make driving easier ?

Battery replacement on my infant XUV 700

Battery drain issues are not new with Mahindra XUV 700. A huge question mark on its reliability. I experienced a similar issue on my 3 month old XUV 700.
Vehicle Mfg : Oct 2024 XUV 700 AX7 D-AT
Battery Mfg : Sep 2024 (Brand : Amaron Variant: 105D31L)

19th December 2024, first battery drain encounter: At 2PM, sat in the SUV and pressed the ignition button. I was not expecting it to not start. All the systems including the AC were working fine, only the engine was not getting on. The last trip in the vehicle was a week back. Soon, I realised it must be the battery issue, as the weather was chilly, so, resorted to jump start the vehicle. Drove for about 35 kms with multiple stops in between, no problems in starting the vehicle during that time. Around 5PM, stopped at a gas station for refuelling, switched off the engine and stepped out to pay. Now, after getting in, again the vehicle refused to start. Called Mahindra Showroom nearby (K S Autombiles, Banswara located just ½ km away). They sent a team within 15 minutes and jump started the vehicle. I went to the service centre right away as it was nearby the get the battery checked. The workers didn’t see any major issues at the time and they were in a hurry as their shift was about to end. They did not want to take a vehicle in during the end of the day. I was also eager to go back home as it was getting dark.

On the next day, 20th December 2024, in the early morning, went in the vehicle to check if the problem still occurred as I had a major family trip the very next day. To my surprise, the vehicle did not start. Again, jump started it and went straight to Mahindra Service Centre at 11 AM. The manger asked me to come early in case the battery needs a full charge. Until, 1 PM nobody attended the vehicle. A technician came and inspected for any parasitic drain. Then he checked the battery voltage. It was low. He kept the engine on for half an hour to see if the battery was recharging. Again, checked the voltage and it was about 13v, waited for 5 mins and it dropped to 6v. I insisted them to get it checked by the local battery dealer. He told that one cell was down. The battery was faulty. Now, the manager would send it to their HO in Udaipur for replacement. The whole thing would take 5-6 days. I had no choice but to rent a substitute battery.

Rented Battery Info
Brand - Elito Variant - ET600LMF (smaller than the Amaron and doesn’t fit the battery tray but works just fine)
Rent per day – Rs 200

Meanwhile, with the rented battery, I completed my 4-day trip hassle-free. On 26th December, got a call from the showroom that my battery has been found okay and returned after charging it for 12-14 hours. I was not satisfied. I had no choice but to accept it. I asked the company to share the battery inspection report. They just had a plain challan provided by the battery dealer in Udaipur. I called him directly and asked why has he not replaced. He assured me that if anything happens again, he will replace it. I took his word.

I was using the car daily now. Cut to 6th January, 2025, same thing persisted. I called Mahindra but they are useless. Then I called the Amaron dealer and claimed for a replacement as I was fed up of jump starting the vehicle. He agreed to replace the battery under warranty. And, two days later I was given a brand-new green battery (OE batteries are B&W).

Touchwood, the new battery is working just fine.
