I completed 1st 1000km servicing of my Night Fury (XUV700 D AT AX7 L AWD) on 25th Feb from Utkal Automobiles Bhubaneswar. Total servicing cost - Rs 0/-

Asked me if i want to avail underbody antirust coating for Rs 3500/- but i denied as i had already did graphene ceramic coating from outside.
They delivered the vehicle in just 3hrs which i had not expected.

Coming to technological advances, the driving experience is a great thumbs up. The drive modes really help to tackle busy traffics as well as provide stability on highways.

ADAS features are really helpful but lane assist is a bit cumbersome to use on Indian roads, had to apply warning only mode.
360 degree camera is really helpful in tight spots.
Adaptive cruise control is a boon for long hour drives.
Sound quality is top notch and probably the best compared to any other car.
Engine sound is noticeable on shifting up till 60kmph, after that its smoother.
Accessing boot space in dark after folding rear seats is difficult so had to lit up middle row lights.

Unable to pair with In home Alexa from Adrenox Connect app, service guy assured me that he will look into it.
Vodafone sim provided in the vehicle is a let down as network is poor most of the time. Riding comfort for driver and middle row passengers are better than co passenger and third row passengers.

Overall a posh experience from an Indian brand and i am really proud to own it.

It is important to understand the limitations of any advanced tech, saying the tech is useless is just being ignorant. ADAS has its limitations when using it in highly congested situations, if you expect it to work like magic in such conditions then you’ll be left disappointed.

Know when to use it and you’ll realize it’s importance. In it’s current state LKAS and AEB are both assistive systems whose real benefit shines in long journeys where the user might lose attention. In daily short city runs, it’s rare for the driver to lose attention and in these cases it might be best to leave them off.

When traveling long distances, or on expressways where people usually follow lane discipline every single ADAS feature is beneficial, even in India. ACC is a boon in this case.

Curb your expectations and know when to use the system to your benefit and you’ll realize it’s importance otherwise you’ll keep cursing the tech and miss out on using it entirely.

I had booked the AWD variant on Oct 7th. The delivery dates kept moving from Dec 27th to Jan 22nd to Feb 28th. Now I have been informed by the dealer that the CPD will be 9th March. My RTO will be Ooty. This dealership (CAI) has branches in Coimbatore, Erode, Nilgiris Districts and as per them mine will be the first AWD they will be delivering.

Thanks for sharing your views. Appreciate a different perspective. Not sure if you have had any personal experiences or is your opinion influenced by multiple YouTube bloggers. The devil is in the details

Hope you had a chance to read my post thoroughly- I want to draw your attention to 2 specifics

1. My comments are not about ADAS in general but about lane keep assist. I liked adaptive cruise control a lot and ended up letting ACC do bulk of the driving. Really helpful. In an ideal world lane keep assist would also have been super useful. But unfortunately in my side of the country people don’t drive within lanes even when there is no traffic. And that’s why the vehicle gets confused, seeing half vehicle in the lane in front. And in that confused state it does not act like what you would normally do, but starts fighting with you. That makes it unsafe in my view

2. I shared my experience on highway and not on a city drive. In fact I mentioned Eastern Peripheral Expressway

That's what I meant by understanding the limitations. If you know LKAS isn't going to perform as per your expectations in the current situation, you have the option to either turn it off or anticipate and work around it using the turn signals.

Here in Mumbai on expressways especially Mumbai-Pune, there are clear lane markings and people tend to maintain lane. LKAS will be hugely beneficial there.

Experiences will vary widely as every situation will be different, you have to best utilise the system to your advantage. There will be road conditions where the system will add to your comfort and some where it won't.

Welcome to the club. My delivery date has been moved twice already. It has become a daily ritual to call the dealer only to hear "Saar, it's not billed Saar". They don't have a clue on when the vehicle will be billed. I have already escalated to customer care but they themselves know nothing. Trying to find somone up in the chain to escalate to . Any help is welcome

The service is kind of namesake - nothing mechanical to be done more than a general checkup. It's more like the servicing to be done by the CoTek - a so-called computer guy to check the software versions, errors, flash whatever is needed and less of the work with spanners! Typically the servicing should not take more than 90 minutes, maybe maximum of 3 hours. You can take the appointment of the ASC, get the car serviced and bring it back home on the same day.

Ran into a bug that sets ACC to 220kmph today! I was setting ACC speed to 80 after entering Bangalore NICE road; below is the display I got.



It was literally a 'what the' moment! I asked my co-passenger to take the above snap. Later I realised that it's just the display showing 220 while the set speed was working as expected. Displayed speed was not changing even when I changed the set speed or when ACC is moving between different states. It was fixed after the next ignition cycle.

Can any one throw some light on why do Mahindra refrain from having sliding middle row seats in their XUV line of models?

As far as I know the middle row is sliding in Marazzo.

It lends so much flexibility to the seating especially when more than enough space is available in middle row.

Any suggestions for cover and floor mats?

Has anyone seen the Mahindra official white premium cover? It claims to have scratch free material on the inside. Not sure how true that is.

I finally received the above product. Its quite thin, and the only issue (personal POV) was that I had wanted a battery model, but maybe those don't come nowadays. This one comes with a micro-USB female jack and a 5 inch-long cable for charging from a regular USB.

I checked with my dealer and he too told me the same. This issue is there in Tamil Nadu for AWD variant. Apparently as per the dealer, MX variant too has this problem in Tamil Nadu.

I was told this will be sorted within a week.

Regarding mats I would recommend 3D KAGU mats, I have been using them in my present XUV500 for the last 5 years and have found them to be the best mats; the company is developing mats for the 700, could be available in the next 3-4 weeks. Call 8884788843 for status.

For car covers I have read some very good reviews of Coverall Car Covers, Mr Rajesh Saigal, Delhi mobile 9810055468.
