I think this is the dark edition similar to the Scorpio N, with dark interiors.

Possible. But, they already did that for the exterior in previous update and they could have added black interior option without such a big announcement. Like they did for Mocha brown in Thar ROXX.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Just saw this on reddit : https://www.reddit.com/r/CarsIndia/c...arted_showing/

Apparently ads are being shown on the infotainment system screensaver.
This is totally unacceptable. We should collectively push back on this. Ads on car infotainment is something we should all rally against.

Could this be XUV700 dark edition?
I remember Australian spec XUV700 in Napoli Black gets all black interiors. Blaze edition got dark interiors but the seats had wine coloured inserts. Black interiors with red contrast switching would look good.

This is common after a battery drain. I have faced it few months ago.

Remedy is to disconnect the negative battery terminal and reconnect after 5 minutes. Problem will be solved.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

To BHPians who have purchased the XUV 700 recently (a few months or a year back), can anyone confirm if the suspension sound is gone? I’m at my wits end trying to resolve this:
  1. Changed LCA as part of recall : suspension sound remains
  2. Changed outer tie rod ends: reduced the loose feeling to an extent but suspension sound remains
  3. Changed all the bushes in the control arms with newer ones: suspension sound remains

After being repeatedly told, since the first day of purchase that the suspension being this loud is normal - I didn’t try to pursue it much and lived with it. But overtime, the suspension now feels like something is loose when going over bad roads, the sound has increased and the car bounces a bit more when going over bumps.

The only thing I haven’t replaced are the struts. I had them check the strut mounts and they said they’re okay. I would appreciate some insights into whether Mahindra has been able to resolve the suspension noise issue in the latest batches. Thank you

Hi. My car is 6 months old. The suspension is louder than most cars. You get used to it over time but there's no denying it's a honker. I realised how loud it was when I recently drove my friend's Tata Tiago which is quiet as a cat in comparison.

However, it doesn't feel loose at all. The thud is prominent, whenever going over poorly built speedbreakers or sharp potholes especially if you're going over them a little fast. Sometimes it feels like the suspension has bottomed out when it hasn't actually. The suspension is also louder than most cars on rumble strips and sequential speedbreakers.

I spoke to a few other XUV700 owners and the ones with older cars laughed off my concerns saying i was only feeling 20% of the actual OG "thud" that the car came with in 2021-22. According to them, it is way better now and almost silent compared to the original batches. They wish their car was "only" as loud as mine. Most of them just told me to get used to it and live with it - this is the best this car will ever get.

This is after 4 years of slow iterative updates to this car. It is unlikely to be fixed now unless M&M is willing to sink more money into R&D and testing on a 4 year old car near the fag end of its sales life.

Thank you for the feedback on your car. I’m guessing it must be a design flaw with the car since even XUV500 owners used to complain about the suspension noise.

My car has crossed the three year mark now and while I learnt to live with it, the loose feeling makes me a bit nervous. Was planning to sell the car and then buy another XUV700 (hopefully the facelift) if the suspension noise was sorted. However, if it’s something that has persisted despite so many years with Mahindra unable to do anything about it - I guess it’s a design flaw and something that can’t be fixed so easily. I probably should look to selling it and purchasing a Toyota Fortuner (used) instead.

Anyway, as per my complaint to Mahindra, they did arrange an appointment with my preferred ASC, will see if they help me claim warranty on the front struts and have them replaced. If that doesn’t solve it, I’ll have to sadly part with the car.

I bought an AX7 P AT in Nov 2023 and clocked around 15K Kms and haven’t noticed a busy or noisy suspension.

I did encounter ‘football in back’ with tank fulls and break grinding noise in monsoons but not suspension.

My gajraj is now almost 3 yrs old with 47k odo.
Except for the occassional football in the boot, there's no noticable sound especially the suspension over speed breaker type. My running is 70% highways and 30% city. I must tell that I've been lucky to drive on one of the smoothest roads (I do Chittorgarh udaipur drives 2- 3 times a month) and even the city roads are good here. But there are occasional bumps and craters and so far the gajraj have been quiet on those too. I got it in March 22 and it is AX7L D MT.

Hope this helps.
Happy driving

Thank you himanshu_trikha and sudanmohit for the feedback regarding XUV700 suspension Noise.

Considering the fact that quite a few owners state that their is no suspension sound from their cars other than the football in boot sound, gives me some hope. I do not want to sell this gem of a car - it has brought me a lot of joy and driving pleasure over the years but the only irritant is when the music is off and I'm driving over some bad roads, the suspension Noise comes up and it's quite a loose feeling.

Anyway, I have set up an appointment with the ASC on the 4th of Saturday. Fingers crossed that this time they can find the issue. I'm more inclined to believe that the sound might be emanating from the sway bar or the struts.

Following the Scorpio N carbon edition, XUV 700 has been launched with an all black theme.

I have a XUV P AT variant with 20k kms on the odometer (1 year old) and I have found the suspension to be normal. It makes noise only over large crater-like potholes at higher speeds, but it doesn't feel like something is loose or is going to fall off. Recently I had a chance to travel in a Creta and a Seltos and both of them had a louder suspension setup than my XUV.

Also can someone please tell what these highlighted caps are for? They are not made of metal/steel and also reduce the ground clearance a bit.
These are there in cars manufactured after 2023-end.

Your's is a totally unique case and is not common.
Many of us here and also others in the different groups are closely watching your case to see how this is resolved.

Do not place too much faith on the ASC experts - rather talk to other experts like reliable battery stores or knowlegable FNG. They would be able to provide a completely neutral view and guide you in a better way.

They do not have any utility except to lower the GC on paper and thus attract a lower tax bracket for this car.
